On mine it made a huge difference, massive from stock. My cousin has a standard one and he filmed me pulling away from his RS at a huge rate. Not sure if it works properly on their car 365bhp seems low, I was running 390bhp with only that map. It makes a huge difference to stock...but stick rs is not that quick...hence why a stock golf r dsg is just as quick as a mapped RS.
@@khfjvc4632 same mines about 390 ish and pulls away from the golf r quite easily I’ve also got dreamscience looking to get the new ultima 3+ even quicker 👍
@@michaelhesford5191 yep i sold my dreamscience to my cousin when I sold my RS...so he was obviously impressed. We had an afternoon around the old evo triangle in both cars. We were both very impressed by it, which makes me think something aint right with evil gt's rs. But I do now have a standard golf r dsg, and it is quicker than most people would think.

I went from a golf r to the rs, biggest mistake ever, now have an A6 bitdi with a remap and that’s a lot bigger than the mk3 frs and it’s still quicker in a straight line

Preferred the look of the focus over the Golf.
But to drive in a straight line quickly the golf is so much easier than the Focus
I found with the golf r when planting the accelerator on a rolling race it would always hesitate before going.

The RS is crying out for a custom map to get the best out of it. Motorsport Developments or Sabre will turn it into a quick car 👍
Can you tell me why Sabre get more out of it then the likes of Dreamscience and Mountune?
As someone who fancies buying one I’d be interested to know why most of the big names offer low gains but someone like the above get much better results.
I’m not sure who’s watched the car focused channel RS drag race day where the Dreamscience car seemed to be taking on the bigger boys and winning.
@@Izzy111R wouldn’t bother with Mountune, maps are poor in comparison to MSD etc, it actually made my engine blow up on a stage 2

@@addictedtoalltheabove6048 DSG and HALDEX both have very little drivetrain power loss, and VW underrates their power figures. That makes them great sleepers IMO.
This was more of a DSG vs manual than a golf r vs focus RS

You have to take the rs to sabre lads i had the dreamscience ultima 3 map and it was ok now running the sabre map and its a different animal 423bhp and 465ft lbs of tourqe and it drifts really easy now

I had a golf r estate and stuck the mountune engine and gearbox software on, they do 0-60 in 3.7 then, crazy. It was such a good car but got pretty bored of it quickly and got a V8 saloon instead!

At the end of the day that RS has an intercooler,decat and tune.
Golf r manuals get mullered by the RS. It's the dsg box that makes them much quicker. Sure they're half a second or more faster to 60 over the manual

Does your rs veer all over on WOT? Mine was all over the road felt like torque steer yet they're awd. They also dyno low they're not 345 stock and mine also rusted badly underneath

I had my stock RS vs an R (was lowered dunno about any other mods) on a motorway (private lol) at very high speed and the R appeared to have the edge in the slipstream but when it pulled out to come by went nowhere to my surprise.
Every time I see a racing video whether its around a track or straight-line and see the road is wet I know its taking place in the UK lol. In the US we prefer dry roads, less wheel spin than slick roads lol.

We've known for years the dsg golf smashes the standard RS its not how much power its got, its how it puts it down. And that RS was built in Germany so both have the engineering behind it. Manual for manual the RS wins cos the golf boggs down alot, the golf is more reliable when tuned and u can get more out of it both are exceptional cars tho for the money iv only driven the RS tho
This isn’t a standard RS buddy. It’s had Mongoose down pipe, performance clutch, mountune intake, new flywheel and the Ultima 3 map. Produces 364hp and nearly 600nm so thought it would be a good test against a boggo auto golf R 🤷🏼♂️👍🏼
