Amidst the lush kiwi plantations and sprawling vineyards, a forgotten derelict mansion from the late 1600s stands, steeped in untold history. This grand structure, boasting a private chapel, was once the cherished abode of the Gaznoches family, whose French lineage adorns its walls. This sprawling residence once teemed with life, accommodating the numerous Gaznoches kin under its roof, their presence felt in the multitude of bedrooms.
However, the mansion's history took a somber turn when a fierce fire ravaged its kitchen, compelling the last occupants, including Mrs. Maria, to bid their home farewell.
Mercifully, the blaze spared one wing of the mansion, leaving its historical treasures and family legacy unscathed. Now, a silent sentinel of history, the mansion languishes in abandonment, Its faded grandeur and echoes of past lives a poignant reminder of the passage of time. As nature slowly reclaims its space, the mansion's tale endures, whispering secrets of days gone by.

It seems that the damage from the fire is mainly smoke damage. Luckily it didn't burn down completely.

Years ago I had a friend who owned a pump organ. She said that to make it work properly you had to pump it full of air before you could play it and had to continue pumping both petals. Next time you find a pump organ grab a chair and pump it till you hear the air trying to escape.
Wonderful place just to bad for the decay. What you are calling embroidery is needlepoint and done with wool yarn and the chairs are beautiful. Thank you for an interesting explore and the beds are gorgeous. Be safe Maureno and Remon
In the early 90s my grandma took me to her neighbors house who had a fire, and passed away. Since then, I have been through many different abandoned houses. It used to be “my thing” until I was a teenager. Now, in my 40s, I can explore these beautiful places again(without having to jump fences ). 😅 Thanks for the thrill of exploring again . I love seeing these treasures, and I love that you both respect these historical homes. Much love from Minnesota 💜

The fire brigade must have got there quickly to stop the fire from spreading & save so much of the house. Well done to the Fire Brigade.

Well that's a really beautiful mansion inside out! The pretty fountain caught my attention sitting there in the middle of the overgrown garden 💚 The mansion is for real really huge! I loved it, a lot of rooms are beautiful and some ceilings are really unique! And a lot of rooms have a lot of beautiful wooden furniture and nice old stuff in them. And i agree with you, the star of the show is the portrait room. My favorite! And the chapel as well ❤ It's sad to see this amazing place in this state, and sad that the fire happened and forced the owners to leave, and the house was left abandoned, and burnt 💔

Some of the art work that are stitched are called needlepoint... different from a tapestry.
It's a larger stitch, not so fine.

Esta mansión es realmente hermosa, tanto su exterior como interior, pienso que ni siquiera el fuego ni el humo pueden opacar su belleza, me encantan las habitaciones amplias, los cielos tan bien decorados, la capilla digna de la familia noble que la habitó.
Mis favoritos los muebles y camas únicas, las lámparas candelabros, el salón de los retratos. Especialmente esas sillas bordadas con el escudo de la familia, ese trabajo es antiquísimo y realizado a mano 😍
En uno de los comedores, los hombres que aparecen en los dos retratos de 1700, son sacerdotes u obispos, recordemos que en todas las familias nobles era casi obligación que uno de los hijos fuera religioso.
Hasta el ático me gustó.
Pienso que después del incendio la familia se fue a otra de sus propiedades, tal vez en la ciudad, las familias adineradas siempre tenían muchas propiedades en el campo y la ciudad, por eso esta mansión quedó congelada en el tiempo. Muchos cariños para ustedes y gracias por pertirnos explorar con ustedes lugares maravillosos. 😊🙋♀️🥰🤗👏👏👏

Totally amazing and despite the fire, the place is in reasonable shape and salvageable if anyone would wish to restore it, too bad though all too many places are given over to decay and crumble for being tooo expensive to restore and inhabit.

Odd corner chair was made for military to set down without taking off their swords.Wonderful furiture and portraits. A huge place cost to tenovate would be tremendous. Loved it guys.
That looks like real hair inside the velvet case. Some people used to save mementos of their deceased loved ones (memento mori) which were treasured. Thanks guys!

I wonder how much that house was in regular occupation even at the time of the fire, as there is virtually nothing modern there? Not even modern clothing or shoes or cookware. Unless they took everything modern with them? The computer looked like it was from the 1980s or 90s maybe?
If you keep your soap in the wardrobe for some months before you start using it, it hardens & will last longer in use.
That place is big enough they could have continued using undamaged areas. They must have somewhere they preferred to be.
That was a lock of hair from a human, not a wig! Lol!
The chapel: the pictures around the wall are the stations of the cross, the alter still has the house for the host

Much of this is simply smoke damage, easily cleaned up and painted over, I don't understand why they didn't just clean it up and move the kitchen to another area.
