I grew up in Utah, our scout troop went caving through nutty putty back before it was sealed up. Yes, it's also incredible to realize how massive the rock above and all around you is. I did a path in a cave in the midwest that followed an underground river to a series of small waterfalls and pools, it was so beautiful. And turning the lights off is a trip.

Meet The Natives is an amazing documentary series... They arrive in new york and the tribes translator thinks that Taxis are just any yellow car that you can get in, tell them your name and they take you home... They also experience snow for the first time which is an amazingly wholesome moment, and while passing an industry area they say that maybe thats what has caused their crops at home to stop growing like they used to. At the very end of the documentary they return home and everything they filmed is shown to the rest of the tribe. Such a great show!

They didn't break the rock around him because it could've made the cave collapse and kill even more people. Also they didn't really give up on him, they stayed trying to retrieve him until he died. The whole story still gives me chills though, such an awful way to go..
I think what Andrew needs is either a high dose of shrooms or Lsd to experience what he was trying to explain in this episode. Both can make you think you're in grave danger when nothing is happening. Like, for example, watch jurassic Park or a movie like that, but on acid and you will feel like you are in it. Disclaimer obvious be careful
Wax bullet dueling used to be a thing in the early 20th century and it wasnt too dangerous so you could do that if you really want to shoot someone without any repercussions.
Fanfiction is a very specific thing where fans write fiction about an existing work. Just because it is amateur or shitty doesnt make it fanfiction and I wish Jackson would understand that.

What Andrew is talking about is a holodeck. They had one on star trek and could adjust the realism settings. A lot of incredible inventions were born from Star Trek: TNG
Hearing about this Nutty Putty Cave situation with John Jones, especially the part where Charlie says that the rescue team spent *27* hours trying to rescue him reminds me of the movie *127* Hours... And it came out a *year* after this situation with him happened... 👀
Charlie is so wrong about diving with sharks, I've done it a couple times and it's always a great experience. It's not just about the sharks too, every time you dive you feel like you're not even on earth anymore
I don't think this episode does it's best to convey why the sentinelese are combative against potential invasion in any form. They actually used to be very very inviting to foreigners, but I think something about a certain british colonization and stealing ppl away from the island and returning the survivors changed their ideas about how to feel. Hell, not too long ago I think there was a video of a team of ppl that actually went there and chilled with the ppl at the coast. So maybe they're just having internal issues rn, even if not, I think the decision for them to open up to modern society should be something they eventually come to do on their own.
i read a book exactly like what andrew is describing about his video game fantasy. i forget the name of the book but it was along the lines of a system like a tanning bed, where you lay in and stick little needles into yourself at various points. probably connected to nerves. and then one to your head. and it ultimately puts you within the game itself, and you have the option to enable pain or not to get fully immersed. there were loads of things you could do from play and mmorpg to a first person shooter to just a game that’s living another life. it was pretty cool and is literally exactly like andrew’s thing
One of my teachers in high school was part of the rescue team for the Nutty Putty cave accident. He didn't go too much into detail, but he was telling us that the team was there for hours trying to get him out. They literally tried everything. Unfortunately, the location where he was stuck was so far down that the team couldn't get him out without compromising their safety. This situation has kept me from exploring caves.
In this video they’ve described the concepts of things like, nervegear, and japan opening up.. when pewdiepie literally just moved to japan. Edit: the rock is on drugs

Medieval sword fighting is a sport called HEMA, theres also medieval MMA
"Any dangerous hobbies you guys want to do?"
Me: SWIMMING WITH SHARKS!
Jackson: Swimming with sharks.
Nearly spit my coffee out when he said that lol
They didn't break the rock around him because it could've made the cave collapse and kill even more people. Also they didn't really give up on him, they stayed trying to retrieve him until he died. The whole story still gives me chills though, such an awful way to go..
Jackson watch everything everywhere all at once
Glad to hear Charlie's working on getting over his fear of flights, I would love to see you boys together abroad making content.
The one that looks like a caveman is funny and relatable
You mean all of them?
I think what Andrew needs is either a high dose of shrooms or Lsd to experience what he was trying to explain in this episode.
Both can make you think you're in grave danger when nothing is happening. Like, for example, watch jurassic Park or a movie like that, but on acid and you will feel like you are in it.
Disclaimer obvious be careful
“Kobe was a human being”. An amazing comment that went right under the radar.
Jackson must be referring to that play through of house of ashes when talking about the cave story 😅
Wax bullet dueling used to be a thing in the early 20th century and it wasnt too dangerous so you could do that if you really want to shoot someone without any repercussions.
That actually sounds fun. Why did we stop?
@@fateisme I'd imagine it would be due to WWI as that largely took all the romanticism out of shooting people.
They pretty much described sword art online with their discussion about vr
Andrew is so good at advertising and he even has the perfect voice for it.
Fanfiction is a very specific thing where fans write fiction about an existing work.
Just because it is amateur or shitty doesnt make it fanfiction and I wish Jackson would understand that.
The last descent is a really good movie about the nutty putty incident
Good news for Andrew: the human antagonist from Avatar 1 is back, and now he's a blue-guy!
I don't understand
That Nutty Putty cave story has been my absolute nightmare ever since I first heard it.
Yeah, and the fact that a man died there upside down is really disturbing. May he rest in peace
Charlie, i have seen the dragon, i have watched you create tutorials n black ops 1 on how to create emblems in the custom editor feature..... i have sen you dolphin dive and swim.... i want to tell you..... we all stand behind you in everything you do no matter how far it strays from dolphin diving or things like that or associate with it in that manor.
I have indirect distinctive respect for you and i hold you on all other podiums above the relevant contest.
PS. Still not sure if those moms on Facebook are on to something????? are you Jesus or?.....?
I liked my own comment.
sorry
I saw that picture of Charlie with Donut Operator and Brandon Herrera, get them on the show!
Your setup is basically the same as the pka podcast, I love it
49:15 this was the most Jackson moment ever, I love it
Andrew: I wanna sword fight
Texas with open carry swords: hell yeah brother!
The intro to this podcast always goes so fucking hard
The two episodes that were 2 hours a peice were nice
What Andrew is talking about is a holodeck. They had one on star trek and could adjust the realism settings. A lot of incredible inventions were born from Star Trek: TNG
Hearing about this Nutty Putty Cave situation with John Jones, especially the part where Charlie says that the rescue team spent *27* hours trying to rescue him reminds me of the movie *127* Hours... And it came out a *year* after this situation with him happened... 👀
40:00 there's a haptic suit called the OwOskin that uses electric shock basically for VR games
Charlie goes to tourist spot. "Caves are boring"
Charlie is so wrong about diving with sharks, I've done it a couple times and it's always a great experience. It's not just about the sharks too, every time you dive you feel like you're not even on earth anymore
HEARING KAYA SAY TOM HOLLAND IS HIS FAVORITE MADE MY DAY ❤️💕
The whole "realistic VR" thing is just SAO.
Wifi is out at work and I can’t do anything lmao thank you for this saving grace
So maybe they're just having internal issues rn, even if not, I think the decision for them to open up to modern society should be something they eventually come to do on their own.
wow just started to watch some more of the only official pod cast on the internet and now there's more
i read a book exactly like what andrew is describing about his video game fantasy. i forget the name of the book but it was along the lines of a system like a tanning bed, where you lay in and stick little needles into yourself at various points. probably connected to nerves. and then one to your head. and it ultimately puts you within the game itself, and you have the option to enable pain or not to get fully immersed. there were loads of things you could do from play and mmorpg to a first person shooter to just a game that’s living another life. it was pretty cool and is literally exactly like andrew’s thing
What Andrew wants is full dive gear like in Sword Art Online
Man hearing “they pack you in, in economy, it’s awful”. Man I wish I had that much money 😂
Also for context, he was an experienced cave diver. He was with his friend who was also very experienced. In case anyone is wondering.
In this video they’ve described the concepts of things like, nervegear, and japan opening up.. when pewdiepie literally just moved to japan.
Edit: the rock is on drugs
Charlie: Saul is good but it’s not as good as Breaking Bad. Also El Camino is worthless
…..wow. One episode back and I already wish you weren’t
Yeah I disagree with him entirely i think better call Saul is better then breaking bad and the fact that he didn't like el Camino is crazy bc it slapped. But I'm still glad he's back
I had never flown until I was 21. This December I went on a trip to Disney World, can say that I want to get on a plane again. It was pretty cool.
Dope I definitely listened to the whole thing
Yeah.... in only 5 minutes you liar
"Velociraptors were actually feathered animals. They grew up to 100 pounds, about the size of a wolf. And they likely hunted solo-using their claws to clutch rather than slash prey-when they roamed central and eastern Asia between about 74 million and 70 million years ago, during the late Cretaceous period."
~Google
Dienonychus was the one from Jurassic Park but it didn't fit the raptor means bird narrative.
So what Andrew wants is to live in The Matrix lol
10:16 “He was a human being” 😂
jesus i remember why i didnt listen to this
edit: ahhh yes, i missed this pod
yoo! mad excited 4 this
Is Kaya’s ringtone really Turkish March?
It'll take 14 years to get to ep 1000
