      It has been determined that there is a 99.999997% chance of victory in Madagascar, and it is a vital strategic hotspot for the Indian Ocean. The UNs chance of sanctioning the US over an incursion is 0.000003%, assuming a proper casus belli is created. The chance of success for this, given the current state of the CIA, is about 99.9999927%. Recommendation: generate a believable casus belli, such as a warlord or terror leader, and take Madagascar.

      Heres something you may find interesting. :)
      The name of my country has nothing to do with the interesting and delicious bird ''turkey'', well let me explain. :)
      Name of my country has always been Turkiye, that is Turk-iye, it's been known as such since around the 1200's, spelled to phonetically resemble ''Turkiye'' in different languages, where the -iye suffix means ''land of/belonging to''....
      ...just like the Latin suffix -ia in such countries as Latv-ia, Roman-ia, Eston-ia, Austr-ia, Austral-ia etc etc. Another example; decades ago Czechoslovakia Republic changed it's name to Czech Republic and a few years ago changed that to Czechia (that is Czech-ia).
      Anyways, most likely the Latin -ia suffix was derived from the Turkish version -iye,
      as Turkish is much much older.
      Because in old times people of different languages could only pronounce it as their languages allowed them, we got various differences in spelling like Turchia (in Italian), Turquie (in French) and Turkey (in English) all trying to resemble the pronounciation of ''Turk-ia'' thus Turkiye.
      Mind you this was way BEFORE the animal we currently know as 'turkey'' was found by the europeans when they explored the north americas, the bird was sent to europe from north americas in the year 1519, so upuntil that they there was no bird named 'turkey'....
      ...they came across the bird and thought it was a specie of the fowl/chicken they had been buying from the country of Turkiye at the time, so they named the bird ''Turkey Fowl'' meaning ''Turkish Chicken''.....
      ....just like how a dog breed is known as German Shepherd (because it's from Germany), Rhodesian Ridgeback (because it's from Rhodesia), American Bulldog, British Terrier, Greek Harehound etc etc.
      In time you don't get to call the Greek Harehound as simply as ''Greek''; or you don't call the British Terrier as ''British''; or the German Shepherd as ''German'', but in time the Turkish Fowl started to be called just ''turkey'', and has been going on for hundreds of years.
      Now in 2023, this is causing confusion, especially when we have people across the world unable to point to their OWN country on the atlas, this ''confusion over the naming'' needed to be corrected.
      So my country decided to rectify this confusion that has been going on for so long and corrected the name in other languages to Türkiye, which it always was, we basically didn't change the name of our country, we changed the mistake made in the English language. : )
      So, there's some tid bit information for you to have a great day, if you read upto this point you have a great night too, ohh just have a wonderfull life. : )
      Best wishes. ;)

    The "human error" problem came to my mind several times during the last part of this video, what's meant to provide additional info can steal attention instead, what's meant to help with planning can transform the logic behind it, and so on and so on. Small mistake found about the US NGAD programs; It did begin as a joint program between the Navy and the Air Force, but has since been split into two completely separate programs. The US Navy's version is called the FA-XX, and the Air Force's is simply called NGAD, which isn't confusing at all. One of the biggest reasons the F-35 program was so expensive was the different versions with different requirements, and the different branches constantly fighting over what specifications were necessary. Multi-country joint programs have faced similar problems in recent years, where an agreement exists to cooperate on designs and production, but without consensus on key design decisions, most notably being carrier compatibility. As a result, the US military has decided to build two distinct airframes. Of course, they still share technology, and will likely end up using similar, or even some of the same components.

    • @amaneyugihanako-kunofthesi8849
      @amaneyugihanako-kunofthesi8849 Před 6 měsíci +4

      Indeed. Besides, the USAF NGAD would most likely be too big for Aircraft Carrier landings, as it might focus more on increasing its size so that it can store more armaments, and less on maneuverability for dogfights. In the latter case, that's where the CCA or Loyal Wingmen drones come in. Thus, the NGAD and its pilot is now relegated to a "quarterback" role as it both targets its enemies from extreme BVR, or give commands to its CCA drones to attack them instead.

    • @jeremyholman
      @jeremyholman Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yeah, this NGAD/FAXX part of the video contained a few errors. But you're wrong to say "F/A-XX is the Navy's version of NGAD".
      The USAF has a program called NGAD, that includes a (optionally?) crewed fighter called PCA, as well as some other parts.
      The USN has a program called NGAD, that includes a (optionally) crewed fighter called F/A-XX, as well as some other parts.

    • @CruelestChris
      @CruelestChris Před 6 měsíci

      What do you mean in recent years, multi-country projects have been breaking down for generations. See MBT-70 and the US sabotaging their NATO standard rifle trials so the FAL couldn't win and ignoring their own evaluation of intermediate rounds to appease the Cult of the Holy Garand.

    • @scottlangley5596
      @scottlangley5596 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@jeremyholmaninteresting thanks, I'll look into it further, as I too was under the impression that the the NGAD is the air force version while the FA-XX is the equivalent Navy program, with the names showing the different roles the planes will play. The air force wants an air dominance fighter while the navy wants a fighter/attack plane that can control the skies and/or attack targets on the ground. The military is infamous for naming stuff in the most confusing way possible so it makes sense that this is too clear and intuitive lol.

    • @harbingerdawn
      @harbingerdawn Před 6 měsíci +1

      Strange, I recall it being the other way around: starting as two different programs, then the branches were forced to work on a common design, JSF-style. I'd love to be wrong about that though.

    I believe the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program is not one collaborative program between the NAVY and Air Force anymore. Confusingly, both the Navy and Air Force have programs named NGAD but they are separate programs which might share some common parts. I believe F/A-XX refers specifically to the product of the Navy's NGAD program, not the Air Force's.

      They shouldn't be the same program as both have different requirements but some level of integration could be very useful. Like for example the cars that Tesla makes. The Model 3 and Model Y are different but similar. One is an SUV and the other is a Sedan but they both share 70% of the parts which helps with cost reduction.

    The jetpacks may be okay for getting medics to an out of the way location or insertion to an undefended site but the noise of the system and vulnerability to fire without the ability to return fire means you won’t see it being used generally. Maybe as a really accurate but noisy parachute replacement (edit: for rare missions, not general purpose paratroopers). Landing on an enemy ship may make for a good visual test demo but it is the least likely thing for them to ever do with it.

    Sometimes I worry about our reliance on technology in the military. It looks like our system for producing weapons is such that we are getting increasingly detached from what is useful and scalable and cheap, and we have become 100% reliant on what is flashy and looks good on a powerpoint. Im not sure powerpoints are a viable defense strategy, though. Is our military really as good as we say? Or do we just have the most expensive and wasteful military there is?
    We prepare for another WW2. Where we have planes fighting planes and all this fancy nonsense. But what actually happens in war? We fight in cities and urban environments. We fight insurgencies and enemies who use guerilla style tactics.
    The great irony is that if we really wanted to protect our country; we would stop creating enemies with our foreign policy. But we don't do that. Instead; our foreign policy instigates wars and violence; as if we are trying to antagonize the world into giving us a reason to use all this military tech we paid for

    • @Spencergolde
      @Spencergolde Před 6 měsíci +11

      The majority of the people involved in using these new weapons systems are people who staked their reputation on them being practical and worth the investment. The private sectors of the MIC are adding more and more complexity to systems to justify higher and higher prices, regardless of the practicality or utility of doing that. Some automated tech, specifically cheap dones, have absolutely changed the face of warfare. But yeah, most of this stuff is swept up in a positive feedback loop that justifies it's own spending. Probably could live in a world with fewer jetpacks, diesel powered dogs and smart tanks that includes better infrastructure and Healthcare but hey, someone's uncle promised someone's dad that this would get them both rich

      A good deal of militaries are already reliant on technology (as an example, cameras have long since eclipsed the MK I Eyeball in effectiveness at identifying faraway targets), so I’d imagine that these things are at least somewhat built with that in mind.
      Besides, plenty of militaries are t Russia. Meaning they can actually deliver on a lot of this stuff.

    I don't see the Jet Suit being used in Warfare. Maybe used in police action, but not warfare. The US already build a jumpback back in the late 70s. It was a jetpack with about 20 seconds worth of burn time, allowing them to fly short hops. The quickly found it wasn't worth it in practical. Individuals are too easy to hit while flying around. As infantry you don't have much armor, nor are you moving that fast comparatively. Cover is too important for infantry to give up for a momentary movement advantage.

      If you're implying that it might turn on us, I don't believe that so. Why would we create a AI to turn on us. Sure you may think it just decides to do it one day like Ultron 💀, but even if that was possible, they'd make a countermeasure for a situation like that

    • @cmconley33
      @cmconley33 Před 5 měsíci

      @@RMPBuildsThat’s the problem with machine-learning, though; once its off and running, it is constantly improving itself based on what it is asked to do and the data it collects. That means you have to have some sort of kill-command that the machine itself is not aware of and that can be activated wherever the AI weapon is. Otherwise you might end up with a fully-autonomous weapon, and that sounds like a terrible idea.
