You know you have left your mark on the music world when REBA is paying tribute to you. I remember when Barbara won SO MANY awards then this newcomer with an amazing voice started knocking people out with her talent . All of a sudden she starts winning awards like crazy. Between the two of them they won more awards and had more hits than I could count. Now they're close friends and that's why one is paying tribute to the other.
I love them both.

Barbra was so sweet when she accepted her award, she thanked the academy for remembering her even though she'd retired 7 yrs before. Reba introduced Barbra as her Hero and her friend "The one, the only Barbra Mandrell" it was so cool to see the mutual lovefest these two Queens of country have going on.

This was the ACM 40th Anniversary show. It was filmed in May 2005 (shortly after the ACMs) but aired on TV in Dec 2005, I think. Awards were given for the most Entertainer of the Year wins (Garth Brooks), most Best Song wins (Alan Jackson), etc. Reba sang and then gave an award to triple crown winner Barbara Mandrell. (Barbara and Reba lovefest. Mutual admiration society there!) Later Trisha Yearwood sang You Lie and presented Reba an award for most Top Female Vocalist wins (7 total).
True country music today's artist should take lessons from these pros

Some people like Reba and some don't. But Barbara and Reba are very good friends and she probably appreciated the tribute coming from her. And I don't believe Barbara has sung a note in public since she retired. Besides - it would be weird for Barbara to sing for her own tribute!
What you don't see in this vid is right after it Reba does a wonderful intro (the best that night, I'll bet) to bring Barbara up on stage.
Reba McEntire is a good pet that show is good done three songs that she's saying from Barbara Mandrell she sing it just as good as Barb Barbara maybe she's flattered that she took our summers are some of his songs that she recorded somebody to sing that song besides her but Barbara madrell I think that's the way they were they take each other's the song and sing it I think that's the right way to music business is I don't know that much about it they're the ones that knows more about than I do Quinn Smith

@corey0625 You are incorrect there Beethoven. Reba is actually a Falco which means her upper registry is more pronounced above high C. With some exception however her most natural flautelence is released at E or F. Hope you learned something.

Now she’s left country music because of Aldeen and his wife singling her out and their friends, cause she speaks up and has views different than theirs (which was a little her fault), but you shouldn’t make someone feel so uncomfortable that they skip the CMA awards last year for fear of them running into her. She’ll be well accepted by Taylor and her friends.

@Jason28NC Honestly, Reba is probably one of the greatest female singers in the world, the problem is that she is not a naturally low singer, and it comes through in the fact that she can't keep her pitch straight when singing low.
I'd rather listen to Barbara Mandrell sing these songs. Ugh, Reba...

Reba sounds flat....bad sound.....and I can't stand those note extensions......just give Barbara the tribute but let Barbara sing the songs....

Reba still sounds flat. Listen to the line while I'm putting on my makeup, Im putting on the one who really loves me. She goes flat.....and on "Sleeping Single in a double bed" the song sounds draggy and boring. ANd "WHen Country Wasn't Cool"....on the first "Blues" note her phrasing IS indeed....and on her OHHS....she is horribly flat. And listen to "Heeeey......I was country.." she ends on the bad note on the entire phrase." Ms. McEntire (Mrs. Blackstock) is overrated as a singer.
Yeah Reba's definitely NOT overrated.
