Minor correction, but the dino arms actually fold into the sides of the torso in bot mode. The two chest panels even have pegs that tab into slots on the claws.
Well they are SUPPOSED to. At least mine don't really tab in, but it doesn't matter as the torso is still solid
Well, they're designed to, at least. Mine don't peg in at all, and I still feel like they could've designed a better way to integrate the dino arms into the robot mode.
Theoretically, you could probably snipe someone with a Pistol in Space.

The dino arms are meant to fold up into the area under the arm pits in order to fill out the sides of the chest. This placement is the reason why they had to be molded straight. On a side note, my copy of Dinobot also suffers from the wobbly waist issue.
Haven't seen the review yet, but on my Dinobot, the waist joint itself is tight, but whatever it's attached to is wobbly

At least his joints aren't as fragile as the 2008-2010 bionicle run. The vast majority of pieces I had of those sets broke because the joints just couldn't handle the stress.
Lime joints are a cancer on society.
@@DrLockdown Wasn't the reason those piece broke easily that Lego didn't handle the molding process correctly, thus making them more brittle in the long run? I have never heard before that the colour was the problem. (Besides the story... and the designs... and the marketing...)

Gripes on Kingdom Ultra Magnus and the questionable pricing of Rodimus aside, you're very much right, doc! Kingdom has been proving to be that step in the right direction. Even the issues with those two, Ultra Magnus being more of a nitpick on my end, the problem may be what exactly they are, but for what they are, they're not bad.

G2 was marketed poorly. Lego put all of its effort into Ninjago.

2:40 I just refer to him as a Utahraptor. Same general bodyplan as a velociraptor but instead of coyote sized it stands about even with a Clydesdale.

I have the amazon two pack Grimlock of this mold and he's really fun. I do hope we get a third repaint of this mold just to have a little 3 raptor hunting party. Could be fun.

I got a wobbly waist on mine, and some _hopelessly* loose ankles, but other than that everything's tight and solid. 10/10, love this figure. So excited for Rhinox.
Since I don’t want to pay a kidney just to buy the Masterpiece Dinobot, I suppose this Kingdom version will do.

2:34 did show runners ever explain why they named him dinobot? Just seemed weird becuase their was a group called the dinobots and it kinda seems strange naming a character from a name of a group.
Hasbro wanted to re use the dinobot monicker but did not want to do the entire team.
Actually it's necessary. If they don't use the trademark, they lose it.

I used to have Phantoka Pohatu. He was so fun. Unfortunately, some dogs got to him not long after I brought him over to an uncle's after bringing it along from my dad's place at the time.
It's a good thing bonkles don't go for too much on the aftermarket these days. I need to hunt down some greats

Not really. Some of Megatron's panels like to pop off at random, but it's mostly fine
@@DrLockdown I have both of them now, Airazor is amazing, my copy has zero issues, which I’ve basically only seen on the two Selects figures and one Masterpiece I own, I’m not that lucky with QC a lot of the time.
Megatron is cool, or rather probably is, because two parts are so ridiculously tight on my copy that I couldn’t transform him myself, I put him in Dino mode, posed him and plopped him on the shelf and haven’t touched him since I got him about a month ago.
Shame… I was really excited to get that guy!
BOOM! So, I may have a theory as to why Dinobot's hands are so weird. Well, there might be a future kingdom figure that might have the golden disk and it may have a peg on the back for it to peg onto the hands since there is a small port on them.
Actually apparently I transformed it wrong. Oops.
@@DrLockdown Well, at least it was a good idea/theory. Since the hands and that one port bugged me ever since the pictures, figure, and reviews came out.
Oh apparently there's another accessory pack coming, along with a Ractonite redeco. You're probably right about there being a Golden Disk in there.

I love how they were sorta forced to give him articulated fingers because of how the character is,I know mini masterpiece is overstated but damn he’s a fraction of the cost for over 50% of what makes the masterpiece a masterpiece..... masterpiece. Also I didn’t know we could actually talk to the designers ONLINE, that’s crazy. Idk I’ve just always thought as toy designers as far in the background for all of my life haha. Or maybe my experience with Gamefreak corrupted my views of how companies interact with their fanbase

I don't care about screen accuracy in general, like you, Lockdown, but this is WFC, so in this particular toyline I would be pretty pissed if they gave G1 love and care to make it as accurate as the toys can be, but then lazied out on Beast Wars when it comes to screen accuracy.
Like, if Hasbro insists on being this derivative, I am going to hold it to these standards.
That aside, as a cartoon guy, I want there to be toys accurate to those designs, because the Beast Wars and Floro Dery designs are genuinely nice, and haven't really being represented in plastic as action figures, that transform.

The toy itself just not fun IMO, its unsatisfying to transform and just feels like something from Prime Wars style Punch fufills, just very meh gao that I don't need filling unless its the right piece.
