We are on the beautiful island of Isla Mujeres, (Island of Women) a 15-minute ferry ride from Cancun, Mexico for a week of relaxation, exploration and of course sharing travel tips with our viewers!
The Ixchel Beach Hotel is located right on the North Beach (Playa Notre) which is rated as one of the Top 10 Beaches in the World. It is comprised of twin buildings, each with their own pool and pool bar. They have golf cart parking, beach chairs, and access to the best ocean water around. This is part hotel and part condo, and is not all inclusive, however their bar and restaurant allow you to bill directly to your room so you don't have to carry cash. With it's great location, you are close to all amenities. You can walk to the ferry or grab a ta for a few dollars more.

were there any concern that Mexican cartel would be a threat?
No, we felt completely safe and comfortable during our stay. No signs of any threat and the locals were mostly very friendly.

That’s awesome! Isla is a great place I’m sure you will have fun! There are lots of places you can walk to but if you are getting groceries you will need a taxi or golf cart as it’s far away. If you have any questions about the island, how to get around, the best places to eat etc., just ask and I’ll do my best to answer. We are also releasing new videos every couple days about some of these topics and restaurant reviews etc so keep an eye out for those. Enjoy your trip.

Hi, there are many places to chose from. Although I can be frugal at times, my research found that some bargain golf carts were problematic for some people. That’s awesome! Isla is a great place I’m sure you will have fun! The bed was a bit firm but comfortable, I have a bad back and it was alright as far as I recall, but I think each unit is privately owned so I can’t say if they are the same in all units.
There are lots of places you can walk to but if you are getting groceries you will need a taxi or golf cart as it’s far away. We tried 2 golf cart companies, and the difference between them was night and day and the price wasn’t much different. Mega Ciro’s Golf Cart rentals was excellent but they seem to book up fast. They are within walking distance from the hotel but might also do delivery. I have not heard anything good about the golf cart rental company behind the hotel but I don’t know from experience. We didn’t rent for the whole week, we planned what we were doing ahead and booked a 2 day rental and then another 1 day near the end of the week but they do week long rentals as well. A good tip for any rental is to take a video or the entire unit including license plate to avoid possible disputes. If you have any other questions about the island, how to get around, the best places to eat etc., just ask and I’ll do my best to answer. Did you have to pay to get to the island or is the price of the room is included?
The cost of transportation to the island is not included. The price for round trip ferry transportation is quite reasonable.
What room package was this?
It wasn’t a room package, it is just the rental of a 1 bedroom suite. It included access to the amenities but no meals.
