Dude, you did a fantastic job making this look like a mini video store. How you cant see all the shelves from one spot and need to walk around corners to get to the alcove horror section (no better spot for that genre) makes it so amazing. I love how you laid out the floor plan, even if it’s just working with what you have. Incredible collection. Someday I want to make a video of my VHS tape room, its wall to wall stacked, almost all horror and action and weird obscure stuff, couple shelves in the middle like the one you have. But it’s all VHS lol. It’s nothing close to what you have though!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
I would hang out down there all day. It’s got such a cozy vibe for watching movies. Need a little popcorn machine in that snack section once you get it made. 🍿
someday a popcorn machine will be added:)
I have 2000 bluray , 4Ks , Dvd . and Im overwhelmed. This collection is just unbelievable .
Came here after viewing your horror collection video, which was awesome. Been collecting since VHS days, fell off for a while and this video is inspiring me to turn my shelves/binders into much more.
What an amazing movie room and collection, Kyle, and nicely organized too. Naturally, the organizing never fully ends for a collector, but everything is looking fantastic! :)
Its a constant struggle lol thank you!
I learned a lot about older formats I had not heard of, very interesting. Taking your time to show everything is great. Thank you for sharing your amazing collection!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I loved every minute of this. Great set up and collection!
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
Wow! just like an old video rental store, amazing!
Amazing room and collection, Kyle
For a small space, you fit a ton in. What a great collection! A virtual history tour of physical media. 👌🏼🎥🎞📽🎬
Thank you!
Absolutely amazing collection! Very impressive. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
That was a fun tour. Seeing all those film projectors and reels and film trailers really took me back a few years to when I was a kid in the 90's. My Dad was a theatre projectionist and let me go up in the projection booth with him sometimes. I learned how to thread the projectors and splice reels together to load onto the platters. Never would let me handle the arc lamps, though; I don't think he trusted my clumsy little hands. 😄
Good stuff and a very nice collection!! Thanks for the tour!! 😊
Thank you! one of my dream jobs wouldn’t be a projectionist! Wish it was still a job. it sounds like you had a amazing childhood experience with getting to see the “behind the scenes” of a theater! very jealous! :)
I wouldn't either. Those arc lamps go splodey if you rupture them, even a little bit.
@@Theomite 😄 Yeh, it was probably for the best that I didn't touch them!
Very cool space ya got there! You were able to use the space you have well. I started collecting roughly 4 years ago. I used to rent films all the time but once the Blockbuster and other video stores closed, I started collecting myself. My collection isn’t as broad-not even close-to what you have. I have Blu’s and 4k’s. You have a museum of physical media! Awesome to have..thnx for sharing this with us out in CZcams land
Thank you for the kind words!
Love the collection and creative use of space
Thank you!
Impressive…… keep up the great work showcasing your passion for movies and your collection in general
Wow! That is a super impressive, sir. All of this is awesome but honestly the one thing that really stuck out to me was all the film trailers you had. I used to work at a theater and we'd of course just throw out trailers when the movie release. All these years later, especially growing more as a collector, I am really kicking myself for not hanging to at least some of those trailers.
Anyways, that's awesome that you were able to acquire that lot. Fantastic collection all-around.
Thank you!
so nice to see you held on to so many formats💖
I think that was the most fascinating physical media collection and tour I've seen....downright educational.
Thanm you! That means a lot!
4 minutes in and I'm loving it. Your own Blockbuster...
Thank you!
My new favorite collection on CZcams, love the old formats. Big laserdisc fan here.
Thank you! That means a lot!
This room is just fantastic. I'd feel so comfortable in this movie room. Really well done man. I think this is the goal for every movie collector
Thank you! It is a dream come true for me!
@@kylesmoviecollection i got a real problem with you having Dax Shepherd's Chips in your Bad movie section... Not cool bro.
Literally one of the best vids I've seen on YT!
Thank you!
Wow, Such An Amazing Man Cave - Thanks For Sharing!
Thank you!
Great collection! I love all of the old formats… I have a small collection of vhs I saved… now I wish I didn’t get rid of so many! After watching your video, I now want to go thrifting lol I love the idea of space saver cases.. I might have to do that now for some of the collections I’m working on to make it easier to add when I acquire them! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! It has made it way easier to put things away when I get a new addition to a collection within my collection! highly recommend!
@@kylesmoviecollection one question… for example, your best picture section- I assume you have duplicate movies? Because like I’m the waterfront is a best pic but also a criterion. I like to be able to put movies together in themes or categories but it gets difficult to be complete when they can be in more than one place
@@suemurray2109 Yes, so I do kind of what I did for my favorite directors section. I have a regular dvd copy of on the waterfront (bought first) the. I have the criterion copy within the criterion section (bought second). I just kind of chose what “collections are more important to me and so if I only have one copy on criterion it goes in criterion (example: fantastic mr. fox) hope that makes sense lol
@@suemurray2109 I also will add that if Im missing a best picture movie and I only have the criterion disc (example: Hamlet) I will put a space holder in best picture and put the criterion with criterion since its my favorite section
Dude where have you been all my life this is awesome. I may be moving soon, and I’ve been wanting to make a movie room like this for a looooong time.
I would highly recommend making a room fully dedicated to physical media if you are able to do it!
Excellent i want some like that!!! Awesome collection.
Thank you!
I'm lost for words - epic collection👍👍
Thank you!
Enjoyed tour.Wonderful.collection.
insane collection man, really impressive stuff
Thank you!
Stunning room and collection!
Thank you!
Insanely impressive collection. Great job!
Thank you!
Wow, what a collection! I thought i had one of the largest dvd and vhs collections until i watched this!
thank you!
Excellent, video man, the room is awesome .
Thank you!
Awesome collection, very nostalgic
thank you!
Damn, Kyle, this is a really cool set-up! One of the drawbacks of living up here in Canada is that you can't find half of these DVDs up here. They just don't exist here. And the ones that do have French all over the packaging so they look ugly and cramped. Having a room like this would be a dream. Enjoy, man!
Crazy collection. I'm on a much smaller scale. I hav from VHS, LD, DVD, Blu & 4k!!! And still Adding - Smh....Such a Bad Habit but Sweet!!! AWEsome...
Great room setup !
Thank you!
This video is amazing. Thank you!
Awesome video of your collection. This is something I want to do if I had a much bigger room. I only have two book shelfs, an old six drew chestier, five plastic small office box of DVDs.
Thank you!
Your collection is really big! I got like 700 DVD‘s, 40 bluray‘s and 20 VHS (what‘s unfortunately not on disc yet)… nothing compared to your collection
Thanks for showing your holy grail, man! Cheers 🍻
Thank you!
amazing collection and awsome video i love it :)
thank you!
Great video. Your collection is outstanding. I appreciate having different formats showing the evolution of home media. I have just shy of 1000 films but living in regional Australia it's hard to find those older formats. eBay is useful but can be so expensive.
Thank you!
Amazing room tour. I am now subscribed. I moved recently so I am remaking my movie layout now. Would love to see a complete horror film tour
I’ll add a complete horror film tour to the list of videos! Thank you for the sub!
Nice collection of all formats. I never got bit by the Collecting Bug so my library only contains about 125 4k Movies over the last 5 years.
Awesome collection!
Thank you!
dope collection, much respect. I aspire to be this someday lol.
Thank you!
Impressive expansive storage room in which you have maximized every inch and cranny and nook to boot. A dizzing vault to pay homage to all things media. Well done.
Thank you!
Great video and collection mate, have subbed!
Cheers
JT
Thank you!
Awesome collection and room just subbed 😀
Thank you!
I like the black E, it fits with the room
10,000 movies , naw you don’t have enough, you need a lot more 😂. Beautiful collection
Thank you! I was a little shocked at the number after I finished counting
Mighty impressive Sir!
Thank you!
Love the room Kyle I’m a collector as well I have about 3500 to 4000 myself and you made me want to do a movie room tour as well I’m just wondering if you can do a unboxing of the Scarface box set you have on top shelf I have never seen that set befor and that’s my #1 film of all time thanks and keep it up you have a viewer for life now👍🏻😁
thank you! I will add the scarface box set to the list of videos i want to make! Thank you for the support!
I disagree with some of your stacking methods, the variances in your shelving selections, and your complete lack of dust protection, but I am awed by your ambition and dedication. I am overjoyed to see how many VHS tapes you've salvaged and given homes. And I could kiss you for saving all the prints and lost/forgotten media formats.
Thank you, im working on getting some better shelving and someone just made me aware of stacking vhs like how I have them isnt good so im working on fixing that
@@kylesmoviecollection What, you mean vertical or horizontal? Because horizontal prevents pressure on the spools.
Yeah some one said stacking them vertically is bad, I didnt know that
@@kylesmoviecollection None of us did back in the day. We stacked them like books. But horizontal is better so I do that from now on too.
Hi, I just started watching your videos and subbed, I live in northeastern Ohio myself, they had a Family video store in Ashtabula I believe. Nice room!
Thank you! Yeah I went to several of the family videos all over when they were closing down… Wish I bought one of their disc cleaning machines!
Bravo to you Sir! 👏👏👏
Thank you!
I just came across this. Great video. I’m shocked at your collection.
I thought the adult section was behind the blue curtain. 😂
Each time he says umm take a drink. 😊 jk
It's magnificent!
thank you!
Good choice on the Toshiba VCR, but if you want the ultimate model from that line, find a used Toshiba W-808 6-Head S-VHS. I have one, and love it.
I will have to add one to the list! Thanks for letting me know!
Wow! I thought I had a big collection. I only have my blu rays and 4K blu rays on my shelves. My DVDs are either in storage containers or binders with sleeves. I even ran out of room for some of my blu rays and had to put them in storage containers until I get some shelves built.
Space has always been a struggle lol
I always enjoy these sort of videos! I throughly enjoyed you taking the time in showing your passion! You seem fairly young…may I ask what brought you to being a physical media collector? I don’t think I saw any videos on your channel on this subject. Thanks in advance…
thank you! Im planning on doing a video talking more about how I got into physical media. but growing up I really struggled with reading so movies were always a way for me to get stories. I also want to make movies so i’ve always had a passion for film. Keep an eye out for a video in the future on my collecting journey! Thank you for the support!
Kinda late to the party here, but great collection! I had about 2500-3000ish blurays/DVDs that had taken me about 10 years to collect, lost them all in a house fire a few months ago. That sucked, can't imagine if I had as many as you! Thanks for the video
Im really sorry about that! I hope everyone was ok! Honestly its a big fear of mine and I couldn’t imagine losing everything. Hope things are getting better for you and your family!
@@kylesmoviecollection Thank you! Yeah that's the good part, everyone got out okay and no one was hurt so all in all it could've been a lot worse. And now since I get to start over, maybe I'll be a little more selective with what I pick up, but knowing me probably not lol!
Im glad everyone was alright! I hope you enjoy the journey of building a new collection!
Very Impressive collection.....and I thought my audio tape collection was extensive!! Couldn't help noticing we both have the same Filmosound projector. I need to replace the capacitors in mine as the sound level is diminished....It's a 1957 machine! 16 mm collecting, gets real expensive....once again that's one neat room down there.
Thank you!
Would love to see a horror only dvd and bluray video to see all the horrors u got. Love the room.
I have that video on my “to film” list! One will be eventually made! Thank you!
good collection, i still have plenty of dvds
great room
Great movie collection 👌 Thanks for sharing 👍 Hey where did you get your laserdisc love those and I'm collecting also. Aye Have A great week, PeaceLove&GodBless
Thank you! Most of my laserdisc I bought from facebook marketplace, I also found some here and there at local video stores/ thrift shops!
Yesterday I spent a few hours sorting through all the wires to finally hook up my vhs, laser disc and a dvd player to a CRT TV, and yes, it's a million times better than a modern tv for viewing those. If you want to get that video-8 player fixed, check out the 12voltvids channel. I only have about 2500 in my collection, but it was fun seeing all the history of your tapes and other formats. I'd recommend putting together a Clint Eastwood section if you don't already have one!
Thank you! I’ll check out that channel! and I actually might do a Clint Eastwood section, I have a lot of his movies!
this is so cool man i’m trying to start out on my dvd/blu ray journey. i bought my first blu ray the other day and i had to go with a classic shrek lol if you have any advice on where to get them online please let me know
Ebay is my go to, they are usually cheaper there! Also Amazon has a lot but can be more expensive. There is a ton of different boutique labels as well that sell their product online such as Criterion, Scream factory, or Arrow Video!
Greetings from foggy olde England. Many thanks for this video of your amazing film collection I love it and it’s so inspirational. You have done a great job of the room too. Please make a video of your horror collection, I notice several Universal monster VHS tapes and would like a closer look at that horror section. Do you have a region free DVD or Blu-Ray player. I just bought a region free player for several DVDs and Blus I have from the USA as most of my collection are region 2 and B. Physical media lives on through people like you and you are a star for doing what you do and your love of collecting shines through. Cheers.
Comments like this makes me want to keep making videos! Thank you for your kind words they mean a lot! Im hoping to do a video going over all my horror movies! Unfortunately I dont have a region free player but one is high on my list!
Wow! Fascinating video, what an insane collection. 2 questions - have you seen all of these (+extras?) ? Also when watching do you get distracted by your smart phone? The reason I ask that is when I’m trying to get through a collection of movies I find I get distracted by my phone a lot especially when a film is dragging and difficult to get into.
Thank you for the question, I have not seen them all and I’ll probably have something new to watch for the rest of my life lol I find my self watching mostly criterion and horror movies, and yes its hard to stay focused on a film when watching it at home, what Ive been trying to do is put my phone across the room face down so I cant even see if I get a notification. I think we live in a world with a lot of distractions and they cause us to moss the beauty in the slow parts of life. It’s something Im really trying to get better at!
@@kylesmoviecollection thanks for your reply, really appreciate it. I enjoyed your top 24 video too and wrote down a few of your picks I hadn’t seen. Totally agree with you on Star Wars and Kubrick. I would have them both in my top 10 and at least one Paul Thomas Anderson film, I’m also a huge fan of Darren Aronofsky.
That tiny tv is so cool
Thank you!
OMG
Hey man, if it makes you feel any better, i use your videos to fall asleep.
OMG!!! WOW!
Wow Totally Awesome Movie Room Tour Bro I Luv those Film Reel Canister's Plus VHS Tapes I Also Share the Same Goal of Making a Feature Film On 16mm. 🎬📼
Thank you!
нет слов ,коллекция мега огромная ,представляю там наверное сплошной запах видеокассет стоит
Niiice, this makes me want to build my own and escape into celluloid... I have 600 movies 🤭 so a long way to go (10,000 +). 👏
I started off my collection with only like 12 movies!
Damn bro that is a lot of movies
Amazing.
Thank you!
Great video. Love the collection. Can I ask why the packaging for the Criterion releases are different sizes ??
So some are dvd and some are bluray, I keep them all in spine number order. Also some have different packaging than others. Im planning on doing a video going over my criterion collection soon! hope this answers your question!
@@kylesmoviecollection thanks Kyle. 🙂
Wow thats awesome
Thank you!
Wow great room, would love to have something like that. I still have way too many VHS tapes. Anyway I gotta ask, do you have the orginal Star Wars movie from 1977?
Thank you! So I have original VHS releases of the film and the original laserdiscs so I have the closest thing to the original cut of the film that is available on physical media.
Hey bud, I'm impressed, I did have a lot of Lasers and VHS plus Beta tapes and got ride of them, wish i never did. Long time ago I worked in the video industry that started my obsession lol, I'm just starting to build up a 4k collection now. I would so love to go through your stuff, do you happen to have The Outsiders on VHS at all?
Unfortunately I do not, just the bluray
@@kylesmoviecollection Ok cool, please keep up your vids, I'm watching now and I am really enjoying them. Outsiders is my fav movie, the 4k collectors edition is awesome 😃
damm.. i threw all of my vhs tapes, even dvds .. i just stored my movies in hard disk .. your place look like a video store
You might want to change the lights to LED lights because regular lights can cause color fading over time. I read that LED don't
yes, the lighting is LED in the room! Thank you for the heads up!
how are your VHS movies holding up, i got rid of mine slowly to be replaced with dvd or blueray
I honestly don’t watch vhs that often but from the ones I do watch they seem to be fine
Incredible!! I’m wondering though, are you finally at capacity? Do you have space to grow your collection or must you get rid of things in order to add new titles? 10k is a remarkable achievement and I hope you can continue to grow 📈
Im about at capacity, since making this video I have gotten rid of a lot of vhs to make room for other stuff. Im probably going to have to make some new, more efficient shelving in the near future
37:21 I believe these are 16mm films, also over by 40:32 I think that is an 8mm box, I have some like it.
What do you do for the spare bulbs for your projectors and such?
I have a box that sits under my projector with bulbs and manuals but I need to get them tucked away safely
That's not a movie room; it's a "be alone" paradise.
I like that i wannn setup my own physical media at home
10740 movies on VHS?!!! WOW!! That’s a lot of movies. Nice collection though.
Just subscribed from the thumbnail it looks like a legendary room trying to give me a cinemasickness if you watch his not check out his room tour video can't wait to watch the video
Cinemasickness was one of the first channels that inspired me to collect physical media!
Great Job
Thank you!
I hate buying doubles but I love collecting themes. My main collection is based on animation. Started with the biggies: Disney, Pixar, Studio Ghibli, etc. As it grew I started collecting all Oscar nominated animated films. I want to display each in their own collection but in order to do that I need to buy doubles!! Frustrating but fun problem to have. Love your collection. As another NE Ohio resident, something must be in the water because we have nearly the same taste in film.
Thank you! do you shop at the exchange ever ?
@@kylesmoviecollection Never think of the Exchange for movies but probably should. Thanks for the recommendation
Well it is sure the right time to buy.
Last year we saw the cd going in thrift stores in Canada.
Value Village had their 1,99$ cd tagged at 4,99$-5.99$ now.
Thrift stores went from 50 cent-a dollar to 2$-3$ a cd.
But dvd you still can manage to find them cheap tho.
But it will not last.
Everything that goes up will go down until new n=born generation hi 15-16 years old then it will go up again.
It always been that way,
Look at records now?!
So time to buy now.
Soon dvd will sell for a good 10$ each on the collector and second hand market.
Amazing collection. Look like you are running out of room haha. What do you use to catalogue your titles?
I honestly just remember what I have, I surprisingly dont buy stuff twice very often!
It would be nice to hear more about your equipment. AVR, speakers, amps, screen, TV, etc.
im hoping to do a video soon going over all my TV stuff!
Your missing a D-Theater HD DVHS vcr. Very cool collection. I prefer vhs on a crt tv as well.
Yeah, D-Theater vcrs are sooo expensive so maybe someday i’ll find a cheap one
