I honestly think greys and AD’s will struggle this year. This year will be the pain from the highs of the last 3 years. Inventory is the highest I’ve ever seen online. It’s no secret nobody is buying watches rn

I am so confused about why a collector would want to buy a CPO priced watch from their AD, so somebody please tell me what I am missing. For example, Rolex tells us that a Batman GMT-Master II, 127610BLNR-0003, sells for $10,700, and includes box & papers with 5 year warranty. Yet the CPO Program offers the 116710BLNR for at least $17,950 (depending on the AD) with a 2 year warranty, no box and no papers. Why is a buyer willing to pay >17% over retail for a used watch?
This is a good thing for the consumer! You don’t buy CPO from the AD, you buy on the grey market where they will have to drop their prices to compete with the CPO market! Just wait they have to drop prices to under retail or go out of business!

Disappointed in Moser for using low quality jade. The Jade used for the dial are nephrite. If Moser wants to impress their fans, they should create a new skeleton tourbillon that they can put a jadeite dial this will allow light to pass through on both sides maximizing the jadeite's glow looking like glowing water some may describe.

Sales are down, but Daytonas and GMTs are still selling at a premium. But for me, I'll settle for a datejust 41mm on an oyster

AD’s are straggling selling their own stock and is getting worse for them. With Rolex increasing their production and the state of the economy. the next 12 to 18 months I am sure you will start to see Rolex Steel in the windows( officially not Daytonas or GMT’s) but most of the rest I would assume will be available. The craze of watches is gone
Roman is dreaming if he thinks he’s going to sell massive quantities of pre owned Rolexes to ADs … 2014 is going to bring a strong dose of reality to the shrinking grey market.
ADs will be bringing in a vast majority of the CPO watches from customer trades. The remaining will be EO. After a year, they ship boxes and papers to ADs. Roman is delusional thinking Rolex will buy from him after the fake AD video and fake Ray Ban lawsuit.

At a push they can reduce production but still be able to provide work for their employees and make some proffit while the new watch stocks are depleting.
I agree Rolex knows what they are doing with supply and demand. If they are smart, they will cut supply with the state of the World economy and give their CPO program a chance. I dont think Marco is fully realzing Rolex is a charity trust and is not beholden to stock holders like a company such as Omega. They can afford to cut production
Yeah they can afford it, but are they willing? Rolex is building 3 new (temporary?) factories to be able to keep up with demand. IMHO the latter is kinda contradictory with cutting production. They bought Bucherer imho to get (even) more control of the selling process. That second hand market (ie grey market) has gotten a hit is evident. But ROlex sells >1M watches a year with a very strong demand line. Which - yes - also was driven by grey market foolishness. But IMHO that is/was a big problem for Rolex but not huge!

I appreciate the respect when mentioning watchbox/1916 and vice versa. That's class and I know Roman absolutely can sh*t and rant on others
1 mill watches in cpo with 1.5k for rolex is 1.5 bil. If they make 1 mil watches at 15k a piece this is 15 bil. With cpo they can reduce their production of new watches by 10% and still maintain the profit level. This will stabilise or even increase the value of the brand.
Imagine if Omega re-released the Speedmaster Mark range, a new Mark 2, then the Mark 3, Mark 4, Mark 5... On Rolex, just my opinion, I think all Rolex prices will fall further. The inflated Grey Market prices have caused big problems and all the Rolex models that are held for speculation will enter the market in competition with Rolex ADs.
They did rerelease the Mark 2 and hardly sold any

The JLC is definitely overpriced, but that's the one I would take in a heartbeat, beautiful watch.
As to Roman's point on Rolex, I don't think it's a conspiracy theory that Rolex will raise prices either directly or indirectly on gold pieces, it's more likely than not they do it. They are always thinking way ahead.

Rolex could service pre owned for what ever does them the most good.....I wouldn't be surprised if they serviced pre owned for pennies on the dollar...they're not Role by chance.
It is obvious that Rolex made the Day-Date for the Austrian Philharmonic orchestra in 36MM because you can't play the violin or cello with a larger watch size! The obvious point is Rolex used to make watches for the middle class to celebrate life events. It was never meant to be to release a watch so it can skyrocket in value-- sorry I am not buying the hype Rolex! If this is what drives the brand in this decade then I will offer Rolex some free advice:
1. If driving up grey market prices is top of management's list of objectives, cut production in half and don't build anymore factories. The grey market will explode and you can tell new & loyal collectors of Rolex to go pound sand.
2. If you think a Rolex is worth what the grey market says it is, then just double prices of Rolex at the Authorized Dealer, and pat yourselves on the back!
The point is obvious, until I or anyone else other than the Top 1% income earners or celebrities can buy a watch at the AD, then who really cares what Rolex launches?
