Jennifer Lewis is such a treasure. I love watching the Mama Odie voice coming out of her mouth in real life. This must be so exciting for the actors to watch everything coming together
As a robotics programmer, I can barely start to fathom how these things were built. So fluid, so many moving points, it feels like it lives in our world with us. This is astounding
Because robots are meant for places that they are secured to the ground. As soon as a robot can walk around, you have problems. Same as people with submechanicaphobia which is the fear of a robot in the water that looks normal but has gears underneath that can impale you. Like walking up to a dancing character but them being made of metal so you could punched in the face by animated steel😂
The technical reason is Disney owns the patent for the models that they use to make these animatronics, so only Disney can make and use these animatronics for their parks. The financial reason is these animatronics are very hard to make and maintain, they would break too easily to be used for fighting and most can't actually move around because they're mounted to the floor.
Disney needs to start making a park in one of the Central states. As awesome as this engineering is, I can't afford to fly to the other side of the country to experience it!
honestly they did more than an amazing job, this is a literal feat in engineering. i’ve never seen a robot move so fluidly, even the avatar one has jerky arm movements.. but this one .. she looks like an actual cartoon in real life. like holy hell it’s nuts
Even though I had left Disney Animation when Princess & the Frog was released, I was still with Disney at the time. This movie was truly exceptional and I'm glad to see its characters and story have endured. Not to mention the self-proclaimed "mother of Black Hollywood". still contributing to its continued success.
I been watching princess and the frog movie sense I was 5 years old omg mama odie looks so good Disney you did so good with putting on the animatronics looks fantastic good work . 😊
