Im using 100mm Lee Filter system, its doingt the same function(albeit no magnetic) - but there are no flags or swing doors .. Matteboxes are matteboxes.. this is a nice very nice magmetic filmter system - thank for sharing anbd making the video..

Not a matte box replacement. There are no flags. I have this system now and I'm trying to figure out how I can flag the sun as I already had an issue during a shoot.

Good idea. I’ll work on that! Brands aren’t a big deal when dealing with b&w photo and film, it’s more so knowing what color gives you the desired effect.

But my matte doesn't have this filters you mentioned? I bought a cheap plastic matt from china. I don't know what it is for but i use it to look like i have a really expensive camera.

Freewell is an established brand and they will definitely deliver the product since they have ready produced these initial units it’s already setup and ready. Very interesting. What do you think about Freewell Gear Eiger Matte Box?

Not sure. I hadn’t heard about it till you mentioned it. It’s a bit odd that it doesn’t incorporate into any of their previous systems really. It seems solid and reliable but not vastly different or superior than other brands. I personally use the freewell gen1 vnd system screwed into my SmallRig mini matte box. It fits and works great, eventually I may design and print a filter insert that allows me to use these square filter systems but we will see.

so... why "you dont need a matte box anymore" if this is just a filters... how you will block the sun or light leaks with this filters? :D stupid clickbait name... you still need matte box anyway. People dont use matte box just for filters. There are tonns of different filters just for filters. Ppl use M.Box exactly if they need M.Box potential.
