M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a lifelike doll that's programmed to be a child's greatest companion and a parent's greatest ally. Designed by Gemma, a brilliant roboticist, M3GAN can listen, watch and learn as it plays the role of friend and teacher, playmate and protector. The one thing I love about M3gan is that she looks like a half doll and half robot type of character. And M3gan's singing and dancing are very incredible.
Her singing voice is pretty average but the fact a robot is doing it makes it look that much better to ppl. The Arial flip was the best move if the dance but the other 2 moves were simple so while I love the dance I find it extremely over hyped

The actress who played Cady, the little niece who sadly lost her parents in a car crash is Violet McGraw. She was known for playing Young Yelena from Marvel Studios Black Widow (2021). Her sister (Madeleine McGraw) was in another horror film that was also produced by Blumhouse and distributed by Universal Pictures called The Black Phone 📞 that you already reacted

This was the best horror movie I've seen in recent years. The scares were actually scary and M3GAN is just the right amount of cute and creepy.

@Owl That’s not true. This has been a really good year for horror movies lol. I guess you haven’t had many. We’ve had X, Barbarian, Terrifier 2, Pearl come out. This movie is more of a…thriller.

Even though they kinda made you like Dewey(not the Scream character) alot less, there's nothing more heartbreaking than an owner searching for their pet, when you know they won't find them

They used both an actual robot for scenes where m3gan is just kinda sitting places not doing stuff but in scenes where they're actually moving around like the dance screen for example, they got a child actor who did gymnastics and stuff.
The child actor still didn’t do ALL Megan’s movement on her own like the cobra ride behind the scenes they used a rope

Remember when I told you that Maddy’s little sister Violet played Cady (who became depressed after her parents were killed in a car accident, and later became friends with a robotic doll named Model 3 Generative Android) or M3GAN for short? Both McGraw Sisters were also called Blumhouse Sisters or Horror Sisters or Princesses of Blumhouse Horror since they love horror films (which I am not a fan of, but I did watched some horror Blumhouse films like M3GAN, The Black Phone, and Halloween (2018, Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends)

Such a fun movie really surprised me
I thought this was a blast. Hilarious and hugely entertaining, and anchored by strong performances from both Alison Williams and Violet McGraw. Bring on the sequel two years from now.
"Deadly friend" from 1986 might interest you, also "Screamers", and "Saturn 3".
Watching this in the theater was awesome, I legit thought the “ad” in the movie was a real ad and was so confused

If anyone wants to know why I'm not an early AI adapter, M3GAN is why. You never know when our own human bias in technology could turn against you and completely screw you over.

I would really want to recommend you watching Alita Battle Angel.. however, instead of the robot being the villain, she is the hero in the movie
Can we please talk about how terrible the therapist is in her first visit? "Oh, let me observe how you two interact normally," proceeds to tell Gemma how to act with the child. Not to mention, no empathy for Gemma herself, who has had her entire life flipped on its head, AND lost her sister. No toys there? Hmm, maybe she just arrived yesterday, and they haven't retrieved them from Cady's house. Oh, comment about her PJs? Not as if she just lost her parents and needs a PJ day at home. Oooh, watching TV? How unhealthy for her. Honestly, as someone who went to therapy for 4 years, I would've never returned to that therapist. And if I'm not mistaken, they can ask for a new court appointed therapist if they don't like this one.
She did redeem herself in the later visits, though.
Another movie like this is Child's Play(2019). It's quite a good scifi remake of the original franchise.
I remember seeing on Twitter and social media in general how they want to see a showdown between Chucky and M3GAN.

Another great killer doll movie is Dead Silence. A great robot movie is Spielberg's A.I: Artificial Intelligence

Yeah, that’s a good drama. The film that never got to be realized when Stanley Kubrick couldn’t live to assemble it himself, so he personally allowed Spielberg to finish it for him.

I know this is like my third comment, but if you want suggestions for movies like this, I highly recommend the Childs Play franchise. The remake is basically exactly the same as M3GAN, but I suggest you watch the original from 1988

I'd like to recommend the movie "I Am Mother" from 2019. Also about an AI robot named Mother looking after one human girl in an underground post-apocalypse compound. A bit similar to this in scariness-level.

M3GAN is AI gone wrong think 2001: A Space Odyssey to The Demon Seed to The Terminator films. Lots of history. The lead from Get Out also has a famous dad newscaster Brian Williams. Her Asian boss was from Crazy Rich Asians. The ending felt like an homage to Electric Dreams and LUCY.
The scare scenes are very cool and also painful beacause of the blood and stuff And Megan is pretty Cool And the Actors in my opinion each one of them deserve an oscar for there amazing acting skills
The only negative I have about this movie is they should've had more kills. In the director's cut they did but it wouldn't have received the PG 13 rating so they knocked it back.

I went to see it January 8th and I saw it again. Then I seen it 5 times and I absolutely love this movie. ❤ ❤This is a movie that is so more damn good, you have to love the character herself for being, a bit scary, funny and can touch your heart (to make you cry). Unlike most horror icons, M3gan is the perfect example of balancing her personality and the movie (and never tries too hard to be over the top like Chucky and Freddy Krueger or being underrated like Candyman). And the fact that this is a PG 13 which is rare for a killer doll film (normally they would be rated R), but M3gan breaks this tradition and it feel more ground breaking for the horror/sci fi film. It's not all about drugs, sex, gore or vulgar language that most horror flick shouldn't be, it's about balancing the story that makes it work. This mostly was enjoyable to say the least, it was more of a thriller. I just love the character M3gan to bits (hope it's not too late to make her feel good in the sequel to give her a better protocol and to fix an exploding circuit). It's not a scary movie, but M3gan was a cinnamon roll who carried the film until the very end.

Megan 2.0 coming in January 2025. Bruce reminded me of the power loader from Aliens. They show it early in the movie once and you gradually forget it until the climax.

It’s like 80% of the horror element was saved for the climax. Gave me strong flashbacks of the first Terminator movie. Before that, I was more amused and entertained than scared.

This was good but man I hate puppet like horror movies I hate horror movies in general but puppet themed ones ahehhs and the actress for megen did amazing you can tell she had a blast playing her role
M3GAN shocked me since I thought it would be a stupid horror movie, but I found out the people behind it are self-aware of what it is, making for some emotional and more so hilarious moments.
