Leave it to SquareEnix to copyright claim an N64 fan rendition of a track from FFVII, a game that wasn't even released on N64. lol Maybe it was too close to what they originally planned?
I wanted to hear how it would sound in the Mario 64 sound font so bad lol, I can’t believe Square Enix actually copyright striked over THAT lol, but at the same time of course they did.
the only reason i can think of is the music sounds too close to the mobile ports or some song in ever crisis or that retro boxing level in Rebirth
Honestly the devs might have to swap it out with a different song, it's going to be an absolute streamer killer.
CZcams has been doing this thing lately where they will claim part of your video as a "copyrighted melody" or some BS. I had it happen to one of my videos of an 8-Bit FF7 Demake. Multiple tracks in the same video, too. Luckily I don't monetize my channel but if I did, all of that video's revenue would be going to Square Enix. I was so confused, and honestly it is kind of scummy. I know Japan's copyright laws are different than the US, but now you can't even make a cover of a song without getting claimed?

the fact that they got the water working as tiles is amazing. if anyone else has worked with rom hacking this game you'll understand why
in case dev reads comments, feature requests:
- shift the grid visualization up a game unit so it doesnt have z fighting problems
- add a copy button like vinny recommended
- corner slopes with varying levels of roundness
- tools, e.g. line, rectangle, filled rect, plane bucket, etc
- make the red coins increase in pitch when placing based off how many are already placed
- make so if you place several of the same thing in a row, temporary pitch increase per item placed

It would be great if terrain modification could work like landscaping in RCT
it is going to devolve into auto scrollers and kaizo parkour in 3 days

The ability to make hub worlds that lead to your levels would be a cool feature, allowing for completely new games in SM64.

I know it came from beyond the cursed mirror but seeing stuff like Rex, Hammer/Fire Bro, cosmic clones, etc in more Super Mario 64 stuff is awe inspiring. Wish you could combine it with the vanilla stuff.

I mean the game seems to only allow orthogonal blocks so the invisible wall bugs aren't likely to happen unless you can havk the editor and let you do disallowed stuff
This video reminds me of the custom tracks I made for Mach Rider on the NES. They were probably ass but being able to make them filled me with joy.

From a glance, probably not...? It's probably using a modified emulator. I wouldn't know for sure, just applying knowledge from the Doom and snes modding I've done. If it can, that'd be revolutionary.

I really hope they update this Mario Builder 64, it really is lacking in so many ways, but at any rate I really am excited to see where this goes in time

I was hoping vinny would play this :) Before watching I just wanted to say my feelings on the hack/game, It's good like I love how much stuff you can do with it but if I had to add a few things I would....
1.Add a BIG brush right now making big walls and filling lakes take a lot of time I would love some way of increasing the size of how many tiles you put down.
2.More foes and stuff from the base game, Hack as a good amount of stuff but is missing some good ones like Big Bertha (the really big fish), water vortexes, ect
3. And lastly I would love to see a koopa the "quicker" right now he is kind of slow and that may work for some races it makes him way to easy most of the time.

Possibly. The original tools for building the levels to Doom were pretty rough and rudimentary compared to fanmade software like the Doom Builder series of editors, which makes it SUPER easy to map for Doom.

If only Nintendo remake Mario 64 once again and this time they recreate it a Mario 64 maker or another Mario maker which I think is part 3 that now includes mario 64 in it or the ability to do things in 3D such as from the N64 Era
It's time for Nintendo to up the ante and make this (but even better) in Super Mario Maker 3.
So... this is essentially not too different from any other voxel-maker things... though the only downside is just like with things like Minecraft, it's limited to tiles and you can't just nudge your pieces slightly anywhere or freely rotate them

Different dev. Original SM64 maker was a hack by Kaze. This one is made by Rovertronic & another I didn’t catch on the title screen.
