the bully turning around and being nicer is so much better explained in the comic. There he is told by the girl he likes to stop fighting. Because he stops fighting (when she is nearby) people start pushing him around more and he realises how harsh it can be to be bullied by people.
as someone who read this on webtoon the first weeks it came out, i`m really happy they made an anime and that you are enjoying it. If you really like the story you might consider reading the webtoon. It´s free and they changed some stuff in the anime.
