  • Simcha who fled Israel with her husband to New Zealand to make cheese,.... took a 8 week Canadian vacation to Camp Shomria on Otty Lake near Perth Ontario and on her day off we planned a day trip to Ottawa to watch the Changing of the Guards.and to see how blessed Canada is without crazy terrorist alerts like in America.
God save the Queen and may God continue to Bless Canada for its support to Israel

"Push on, brave York volunteers!" lol, I love the Red Coat tradition of the Canadian Forces. Cheers, from a future Canadian citizen. :-)

For those of you who are confused why Countries such as Canada, Australia, Newfoundland, or New Zealand use the red tunic is ceremonial duties, it is because all of Her Majesty's realms, including Great Britain, are all one big military/political/economic infrastructure. We don't call it the Empire anymore, but all Independent Crown colonies under Her Majesty, including dependent colonies, and British overseas territories. are now called the British Commonwealth, but it is the British Empire in definition... this is why the same uniform is used, and the word "Royal" leads any military branch, she is the Commander-in-Chief of all of her Dominions, so it is much like assuming all U.S bases in foreign countries are under one large military, and that is exactly what the British Commonwealth are... one very large Military entity, but instead of a few small bases... it is entire Countries, under the Crown Imperial. This is why she appoints the Governor-Generals, and nobody, not even the Prime Ministers are equal in power with the Governor-Generals, the only head of power higher than the Governor-Generals in her realms is Her Majesty herself. Her Realms which are Dominions, such as Canada, New Zealand, etc. are independent Crown Territories, they are independent in their own rights without regards to Her Majesty... the proper name for Canada is just "Canada," but Canada still retains dominion status under the Crown Imperial.
    Hope that helped!

My friend from New Zealand was with us. I have been watching the guards march since like 1971 so I was thrilled to have recorded it and I just happened to look up & knowing I am in such a loved & cherrished Country, I saw our beautiful flag blowing in the wind. I decided to film the world's 2nd greatest flag,..... British been #1 ...... then America, I guess

I think he is remembering good Memories. The hardest times in uniform are usually the best. For instance, I can complain all day and night about my time in Afghanistan, the heat, the cold, the dust, the bullets and rockets, but if asked if I wanted to go back. I would in a heart beat.

Everything good originates from Britain .... Lesni, Corgi, Dinky, Britains, Timpos, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Saxon, Judas Priest........ and The Queens Foot Guards. May that tradition live on ... on Parliment Hill, Also keep Harper on the Hill

They do say: visit Canada first, and think how American everything seems; visit the USA first, and think how British everything seems in Canada! Sorry, Canadians, much respect - you're very much your own people.
Always reminds me of when our troops had the SLR rifle, seeing these guys.

The United States, like Canada draws a number of traditions from England. As we are both children of that nation. You just had a falling out with them, then tried to take over there summer house a few years later.

To bad you feel that way. Just think of all the children along the march procession and on the hill that you made smile throughout your foot guard career. I think that is what you should write about here, good memmories, not moaning about some bear skin that I consider a sacred uniform & would be honoured to ware if I was given the oppurtunity

I take no back seat in my respect for both the UK and Canada and indeed, in the last two years it has been enjoyable to enjoy the lower level of security in Ottawa. However, I am not sure what is intended by the comment about "crazy terrorist" alerts in the US. Canada is blessed but if that is a backhand shot at the US, this US citizen needs to point out, Obama not withstanding, that the US is the ultimate Israeli backup. Remember the US resupply of Israel in 1973,

The only thing superior about your country is it's waist line. If you consider your identity/customs etc superior to anyone else's then you don't deserve one in the first place. And just remember - everything you know, learn, speak and even eat has been influenced by other identities, so in that sense - how is it superior? Being a superpower makes you the most powerful nation, it doesn't make everything you do right.
