Guide to VB-Audio Matrix - An ASIO4ALL alternative for Windows

- In this video i'll guide you through setting up VB-Audio Matrix. A great alternative to ASIO4ALL on Windows. There's some history, some drama, some laughs and tears and Polyend devices like Tracker+, Tracker Mini and the Play+ are discussed. Bitwig also makes a surprise appearance at the end. Use the chapter markers to jump to sections that are of interest to you ✌️.
No further computers, audio apis or instruments have been hurt in the making of this video.

Hey!
I have an audio interface with a microphone plugged in. I have a multi effect pedal also working as an interface with a guitar plugged in.
I can plug my headphones into the audio interface and use direct monitor to hear my microphone without delay. I can do the same on the pedal to hear the guitar. However, I can't hear both without delay.
Is there any way I can do some ASIO routing in coconut to hear the two inputs at the same time?
You could create a VASIO device that combines both devices and add a delay to the device that reacts quicker. (check at 16:42 of the video). The nature of these software solutions sadly always introduces some form of delay. Even if windows were to introduce aggregate devices as a native feature, this would still be the case. So the only solution available to you, is to compensate on the faster devices through a delay.
How do you save a preset? `Save Preset As` is grayed out for me :(
Right-Click inside the Routing/Patch-Zone -> Store All Grid in Selected Preset
I try for cakewalk.. and no output sound on mastering... How to setting output?
Hi, sorry i have no experience with cakewalk, but if you want to output the master, you'll probably have to make sure that two VASIO channels go back out to your actual/real audo device/interface.
