  • In the third and fourth Bassmaster Elite Series events of 2017, the best bass anglers in the world take on Toledo Bend in Louisiana and Ross Barnett in Mississippi. At Toledo Bend, an angler with 11 seasons on the Bassmaster Elite Series without a victory climbs from 34th to claim the title. Meanwhile at Ross Barnett, severe weather, big waves and a rookie take the spotlight.

it's odd to say someone's a better fisherman than everybody else but Kevin Vandam is just a better fisherman than everyone else. he's unreal.

Jaime Hartman was catching them on a tough area of Toledo Bend.... That far south end kicks my butt every time I go there. The water is super super clear, I suck in clear water like that

Are they not allowed catch nets like on the FLW Tour or do they just choose not to use them to get the fish into the boat? Also, sometimes, after catching a fish, they'll press a button on their dashboard. Does anyone know what that does? Sorry for all the questions. New to the sport.

Welcome, Tom! Nets are not allowed on the Elite or Opens Series. The net ban stretches back to the beginnings of B.A.S.S. competition. Ray Scott was insistent that anglers land their fish by hand. Some of them mark waypoints on their electronics when they catch a fish, and some control their livewell with buttons on their dash. - Sara
