Great topic. I've never liked cigars with whiskey because for me cigars make all whiskeys pretty much taste the same. And I find I don't taste the cigar very well when drinking whiskey. But, you came up with some interesting pairings and the number 9 is a solid stick. I just wish they weren't so expensive.

Knob Creek single barrel and the 12yr both pair well with stogies. Makers is awesome! Cheap pairing that is great: Early Times B-in-B and a Victor Sinclair cigar. Both affordable and available.

My go to anymore with a cigar is islay scotch. The cigar hides the peat and really lets you explore all the other flavors going on in the whisky .

Cant believe how much dalmore cigar whisky has went up in price....not the biggest fan of it tbh, as i cant look at it without seeing whyte & McKay..
Peaty whiskies like Lagavulin go great with a mild cigar....also Ardbeg coryvrecken too.

@Whisk(e)y Wimps there are a couple of ways that makes sense...someone grew up in a smoke free environment, someone moved around a lot so security deposits or resale value were an issue, and this is a new hobby you have picked up.
One of these days I will be converting the back of our garage to a bar/lounge though lol. The room is built gotta figure out how I want it set up though.
