It was way more amazing than I had imagined it would be. It's worth the challenges of getting there.

It was focus on the construction of the Aswan Dam that created my fascination with these temples, and this complex. And Egypt. So thankful that they relocated these treasures.

Great video on Abu Simbel. Brings back memories as it was 2006 when my wife and I were there. I like your shots inside - back then, no photography was allowed inside. Historical aspect is well appreciated too! Hope your son had a great 9th B-day in Egypt. One to remember! Take care. 😀

Thanks for the kind words! It's a really remarkable place. We did have to purchase licenses to film and photograph the temples. But cell phone cameras are allowed in there free of charge.

    I saw a G.
    I've seen it all.

This amazing video brings back beautiful memories. I was there about 11 years ago. I have pictures standing in front of Abu Simbel. After seeing this I feel it's time for me to definitely go back. Thank you for making me feel happy right now. :-)

A voice-over would be better than cutting away so we can see you talk. Just show us Abu Simbel

Could you tell us more details on your itinerary? My dream is to go to Abu Sinbel but know nothing of how to go there, where to stay, how many days are necessary, should I go from Cairo? How to reach Aswan, safe traveling for families, etc

    • @WanderingWagars

We visited Abu Simbel by flying from Cairo. It was a stopover on our way to Nile cruise launching from Aswan and heading to Luxor.

Thoth, the god of the Underworld? He's the god of wisdom and literature, and Osiris is the god of the dead. Eh?

They recreated Abu simbel on the assassin's creed game, the ancient Egyptians were incredible engineers,it was an incredible civilization, it's not mentioned in the bible over 600 times for nothing.
