    Oh man I lived in an outdoor storage unit too. Exactly like yours when you open the door all the boxes and bins are at front behind is a beautiful small efficient studio unit. With TV electricity kitchen refrigerator and all my necessities lived in the storage unit for 3 years and never got caught. I finally saved enough money for a studio apartment and been happy ever since ☺️👍

      @AnitaBonita46 Před rokem +2

      @@larryc1616 well I kept the lock on the outside and all I did was pull the door all the way to the left. But since I had a unit all the way at the end of the wall at a dead end corner no cars could pass through so it was unnoticeable. You have to come very close to the door to realize it wasn't properly locked. Of course that was only at night when the office was closed and there was no one around. Early in the morning I will leave before the staff came in and I probably lock it because the staff members go around that corner to clean it up.

      That's if the manager even cares he's living there. I mean, there's a white extension cord trailing along the front of the units and into his unit. That's not exactly stealth. The manager either doesn't do daily walkthroughs of the property, or he has seen the extension cord and just doesn't care.

    I had to move out of a place I was in for 2 years because the guy who rented the house FROM the owner, pretended to be the owner and rented out the rooms in the basement, until the owner found out, and decided we all had to move. I dont make enough to be in a building and rooms are very hard to find because homeowners have their racial and religious biases, so went to a lot of places that were renting , only to find out when I got there, that they are no longer available, so I've been in storage now for 3 months. I may just stay here to tell the truth. Its heated and a lot cheaper than rent.

Then, you have to go through the biases, especially with people who own homes from other countries, where they prefer to rent to folks from their country/ race/ religion. Now, it's even worse, and a study I ready said you need to make $24/ hour to live . Minimum wage is $15, so unless you live in a room or share a home with family, I don't see how folks do it either. I'm out of the storage unit now and am I'm the midst of buying property overseas. I learned a valuable lesson. Still haven't told anyone in my family of this experience though. Not sure I will.

      @@kingabijah Thanks for mentioning it.
      What I saw a few years ago even before this recent inflation was places like Los Angeles or California people had to have 2 jobs and have their wife work just to afford an apartment. That would let them save money for maybe 5 to 10 years before they could even buy a house. That's not a good situation.
      Also the latinos from mexico they now take their money back to home country instead of retiring here. That to me is a signal that they know its too top heavy costs to live here. I think they are right. Some people are thinking living in Mexico might be better than here and more freedom. Its tempting to think about.
      If you don't have family to rely on to help you its much harder still.
      So I agree with everything you said.

      *You can purchase a portable wifi device at any electronic store like Best Buy, and in the electronics department at Walmart, or Target. For electric, you can purchase a portable generator like the one I have by EcoFlow. If they're too pricey for you, you can always buy a smaller version. However, the bigger ones tend to allow you to run your TVs, fans, etc longer before it needs to be charged. These generators can be charged by the sun using solar panels or you can take them with you to work or to the gym and charge them there. Just throw your jacket and gym bag over it to hide it, lol. Buy battery operated fans to stay cool during hot days and a small heater for colder days OR a heated blanket and socks.*

    Really smart setup in the front. Now I'd like to give you my thoughts about giving up the home to the wife/kids. Let me say that your needs are as important as your ex wife's. Children do need to be taken care of and that goes without saying. But your wife's needs are not more important than yours. Why should she live in a home when you don't have one? When people divorce, I believe it should be a 50/50 split of all things. Then the person who has the children living with them need to make different living arrangements. That is what is fair between the parents. If the wife made the decision to split up, how much more is she responsible to accept responsibility for the change her decision created for everyone? I would have made the wife more responsible than you did. I think it's up to her to decide where she and the children will live and not yours, since the children live with her. You are entitled to as much as she has in the divorce, irregardless of children. I'm not judging, just telling you how I would have dealt with it. I'm also not implying doing it with an attitude. I think it's just what is reasonable and responsible between two adults. So if it were my situation, I'd sell the home and split up the money from the sell. I feel the wife and children need to live differently, and not just you, because of the change in the family. Good success to you for your good heart.

If this is how this country is, then those women don't deserve those things. There should also be ways of subdividing houses for people who are divorced so that they can both have a place to live and neither be put out by using modifications, etc to the housing.
