Wow. The lack of interest on the creator’s part is so obvious. Apparently, the reason Moon the Moon was so complete was because Maxwell Atoms had to recycle a script called “Billy and Mandy vs the Martians” into the episode. And given how he and Craig McCracken have spoken at length about how everyone knew this was a bad idea, I think that what CN should have done was pitch the idea to the different shows, and see who would’ve wanted to take part in it. I know that’s super unlikely, but I’m spitballing here.

It could’ve been a two part episode special of Ben against an eldritch alien who is extremely powerful against Ben, and wins in the end, though the ending he says that this isn’t the main timeline, just a mere alternate timeline that you shouldn’t worry about. Because he is that powerful. A cosmic observer who only intervene when he thinks it would be interesting in an alternate outcome. Like Cthulhu or something like that.

From what a little I’ve heard of it (I saw Phelous review that specific episode of Mortal Kombat) it was a better example of a cross through than CN Invaded was. The OC and macguffin were at least a little interesting especially when taking it all together, both of these elements interacted with casts of other shows in one way or another, and because of the nature of the crossover the eps can still be viewed individually without feeling lost. It makes me wish the aliens were more involved in earlier shows without repeating the same plot over and over again.

So I vaguely remember this event, but I had no idea it was supposed to be one full story and tie-in to each other. I thought it was just ‘CN episodes about aliens’ and that’s it. It’s funny I came across this video though since I just finished a rewatch of Ed Edd n Eddy. I actually like their episode (except for that stupid ending), since it all being Rolf’s family made sense and the themes worked a bit too since Ed was always a fan of monster media. That ending is so ridiculous though.

Looking back when I was hyped for the invaded "series" as kid, I knew even back then it was disappointing. I mean all the episodes with the exact same spaceships and alien designs, how does not scream "wasted potential"? And personally I couldn't stand these "no one believes me" stories (there's a good side to the Ed Edd and Eddy one, if you could call it that). Not to say I don't understand why most of the cast don't believe the main characters, but still pretty annoying. But that's not my main problem with most of them. My main problem is the endings of them. You probably could call them cliffhangers, since they'll leave you scratching your head. I mean they sure left _me_ with more questions than answers. The only one I'm a real fan of was the Billy and Mandy one, because of course.

At least it got us the masterpiece of The Eds Are Coming.
Outside of that, yeah, they're all pointless looking back on it and realizing, "Oh, the episodes were supposed to be a giant event to sell cheese singlets. Why couldn't they have used Cheetos or Ritz Bits Crackers? Scooby Doo had a contest once for Cheetos...that would have worked!"
Also, I think this was around the time where (foreshadowing) I was getting bored of Cartoon Network for the first time until Regular Show and Chowder. Really the main thing that annoys me is that this wasn't some failed movie marathon promotion of Ed's or a nightmare of his and how they went with...Kraft for their promotion. Kraft, really?
Also, it feels like the Camp Lazlo/Ed, Edd n' Eddy crew were the only ones who kind of gave a shit and the reason KND wasn't in the special is probably because the huge reveal that the Galactic Kids Next Door including Lizzie were aliens would have been severely undermined by the cheese thing though it totally made sense.

I think I enjoyed this event because I knew none of this was going to lead to a satisfying conclusion with an in-depth story linking all these cartoons together cuz...these cartoons' canon could NEVER cross over in their respective shows. CN City sure but this to me just seemed like a fun gimmick that'd use easter eggs to link them together, LIKE, it was neat seeing how elements from each prior alien kinda linked together before the big reveal in Billy and Mandy. Ironic given it seemed like the kinda extra mile these talented creators just would go to for the sake of it when it was just network mandate.
As for Foster's, NO. I'm sorry there is NO way you can convince me Imposter's Home for Make 'Em Up Pals was NOT the worst. I'll take an episode full of aimless chaos where Frankie is frustrated trying to keep everything together, only to end with her failing but still aiming to help her friends in the end of it, over an episode where she's actively punished for a lazy, obnoxious character's OBVIOUSLY awful scam that he pulled off actively...only for it to be revealed it WASN'T a scam w/ some schmaltzy garbage message at the end. SO garbage I don't believe for a SECOND that JOHN was an imaginary friend, and he was just wearing a fake nose under his fake nose and those were people he hired to get off scott free.
One has Frankie failing with the message of "you were wrong and screw you for being wrong", the other has her failing and going "oh well" more optimistically. Sorry I'm just, VERY heated when it comes to that episode, SCREW "Goofball" John McGee...

11:09 There reaction to seeing R.L Stine's creations. As well as Stephen King's creations. But in all seriousness the background characters SERIOUSLY needed a chance to shine bright in the limelight. I'm sure they all have very interesting personalities that have yet to be explored.
And if there had been an actual alien invasion themed episode, then that would have been the perfect time for the other animal student characters to shine and for us to get to know more about them.

I've recently been rewatching Foster's again and Cheese A Go Go never made sense to me (and it was a pretty boring and loud episode.) NOW I understand the alien bit at the end. I thought it was a throw away joke of 'maybe Cheese isn't imaginary, but an alien' , kinda like the last bit in the episode Little Prince Puppycorn from Unikitty. I thought Cheese REALLY had to go back to his mothership....huh.
Well, thanks for the info! Nicely done video.

It’s sad to see how poorly put together Cartoon Network Invaded was, I remember being excited about it as a kid. Though to be fair, one of Frankie’s packages DID get opened in The Eds Are Coming episode; it’s the box of candies Jimmy ate that gave him the alien nightmare.

The KND technically did make a cameo on a bonus Billy and Mandy scene. Sector V is playing videogames in the Moonbase while the aliens are filling its craters with cheese, but aside from Numbuh 1 commenting on the smell, they didn't do anything about it.

Ed Edd n Eddy is grounded, but nor entirely. There were a small number of episodes that had unexplained stuff. Setting that aside, its not the least realistic thing. I'm not an alien conspiracy nut, but given the scale of the universe it's not out of the realm of reality that aliens could exist.
