First heard this song on Capital Radio in London in 1977 , went to record shop to buy it , but the guy behind the counter had never heard of it . So had to wait till i got my first lap top to download it , now it's in my ITunes most 25 played songs

Same here. Song was playedby the great Roger Scott. I managed to buy it years later and also downloaded it. I have it on my phone playlist.

I loved this record growing up in the 60's. I actually identified after being sent home because I grew sideburns and a mustache, My girlfriend was sent home on account of her hair being too high. Now they wear what they want and get away with it.

Amazing! Thank you for posting this rare clip from Where The Action is. Bonnie And The Treasures, the trio of Charlotte O'Hara (Charlotte Matheny), Sherlie Matthews and Clydie King, had a great look and a soulful sound. Jody Miller had the bigger hit with this message song about nonconformity and I like it a lot, but the version by Bonnie And The Treasures is definitive. Adding to the magic of this performance are The Action Kids dancers in the background. The video is worth repeating simply to watch the moves of Roberta Tennes, Jill Gordon and the guys. Try playing the vid at popcorn speed (0.75). It prolongs the pleasure, allowing you to study the singers and the dancers, and the scene becomes otherworldly! Lead singer "Bonnie" left this world in 1976. The lovely Roberta Tennes (close-up at :37) who danced in movie musicals, was one of the Gazzarri Dancers on Hollywood A Go-Go, and was a member of The Action Kids dance troupe on Where The Action is, passed away in 2015. I wish I had a time machine.

This song is new to me, now to be able to put faces to the voices. I myself think this song had every thing, it should have had better promotion. I was into buying 45s' at this stage here in NZ, i don't remember hearing this song, what a shame for the artists and every one concerned with this song.

Knew the Jody Miller version ,had not known of this one.Noted that it includes some lyrics not on that version.. She performs it on Hollywood A-Go-Go, which is on CZcams.
One thing for sure this song is so relevant and timely today ,dealing as it does with accepting differences.Whether the difference involves race, LGBT, nationality, religion, and so on.
