I was up at Mt. Cheaha in Alabama camping and I had an extra day and pondered spending a day at Cloudland Canyon...now I wish I did!

Cloudland and Vogel are my two favs in GA so far!
The hike looks fabulous! The waterfalls remind me a bit of some at Silver Falls in Oregon. I'm liking Georgia too!
When we did the hike down to the falls, I said the same thing, this reminds me a bit of Oregon!! :)

I went as part of a scout troup in the early 60s and spent 4 days roaming around there. Most of the trails were in early development and it could be hazardous if you left the trails. At Cherokee falls, if I remember correctly, there was a large falls and pool with two large rocks jutting out of the lower end of the pool. Gorgeous. If you like hiking, this is the place to be! Falls are in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee with great facilities. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Coming from just south of Atlanta, it's hard to believe this nature is coming from Georgia. I'm yurtin' it up at some point. I just had my first yurt experience at Fort Yargo State Park. I want to make Cloudland next, I think.
The Yurt area at Cloudland Canyon is nice! You will love it!
We really liked Cloudland Canyon. We are based on the other side of Chattanooga from there.

One question, when you were talking about Desoto was the footage of Desoto or is this all footage of cloudland?
TY so much! Yes all of the footage is Cloudland, near the end I show a 35 min day trip we did to DeSoto Falls just across the GA border. There is a link to that waterfall in the description if you want to check it out, it was really cool!

State Parks usually allow pets so you can use that as a basic rule! TY for watching and Happy Camping!
How"s the road getting to the park? I heard its nail biter with alot of tight turns? We have a 35 ft. tt.
It can be difficult but saw lots of folks doing it just fine and everyone just goes slow too!
What time of year did you visit this park? It did not look crowded so I was just wandering.
Last summer, I think it was early June. Hope that helps you plan :).

how far is the hike into the falls
There are two falls, Cherokee is about 200 steps down in and Hemlock is an additional 400 steps down in. It's not the distance thats tough, might only be a mile to mile and half, but the steps down in that were tough. We used the Alltrails app, you might want to check them out too!
Are dogs allowed on the trails
I saw them for sure and most state parks do allow it!

Can I swimming in the river? Park allows do that?
You know, I saw people swimming, but maybe just confirm with the rangers there that it is allowed. Might be posted on their website too.

Is the entrance free ?
Yes, I believe it was 5-7 dollars-ish for the day use.

there is an entry fee to the state park, I think its only like 5.00
