Wonderful short! I enjoyed this visually as much as I did musically. Purcell (I think) would be most pleased. Mr. Yandell's voice and his expressive face were a treat. More like this please!!
Wow! Absolutely amazing!!! So incredibly sung by Dingle Yandell!!!!
I listened to this on my speakerphone, and I feel like I have committed a crime. That voice is incredible.
Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
heard dingle yandell for the first time years ago during his time with Voces8- this is just fantastic!
Stunning voice and amazing visuals. I love it!
This was genuinely creepy and I loved every second of it.
It's so satisfying to watch because it's one of those ideas that you badly want to happen... one of those ideas that just make so much sense in your mind but afraid that it will be discouraged and turned down.
The Best Music never dies ...
I am sure that this is the best singing performance of this work so far.
Great film, great voice - and he does look as if he is freezing to death!!
Adore it! Also props for the inspiration
A Purcell piece with which i was entirely unacquainted. Interesting!
incredible voice and performance.... bravo!!!!!
A bit extreme even for the cold weather we have been having - hardly like the mini ice age of the 1680s - but beautifully sung and played and very interesting overall.
I colded until die with him! Amazing performance and video.
Bravo!
Extraordinary,bravo🎶🎵
...and love Dingle Yandell. Wow!
This is creepy I shouldn’t have watched it at lunch hour.
*clicked replay and watched again*
Respectfully, great singing and a trivial if not districting video.
This is so beautiful!
RIP Klaus Nomi, who gave the world a great rendition of this song shortly before his death.
Lovely nuanced vocal.
Never heard of Mr Yandell. Wonderful. Purcell's cold song nspired by Lully's cold song.
Magnifico!!
Way better than I expected. Loved every single second of it. Not sure if I prefer the lower version, but this video tilts the scale a bit towards your performance. Keep it up! ;)
Wow, wow!
BRAVO!

- King Arthur, Act 3: What Power Art Thou - The Monteverdi - Lyrics - - What power art thou - Who from below - Hast made me rise - Unwillingly and slow - From beds of everlasting snow - See'st thou not how stiff - And wondrous old - Far unfit to bear the bitter cold - I can scarcely move - Or draw my breath - I can scarcely move - Or draw my breath - Let me, let me, - Let me freeze again - Let me, let me - Freeze again to death - Let me, let me, let me - Freeze again to death...
@onclebob2178 - "The Cold Song” was written for the opera King Arthur (1691), in which a character known as the Cold Genius represents the spirit of winter. In the aria, the Cold Genius acknowledges the power of love to warm the deepest cold, to thaw winter itself.
@@Margaret2332 I don’t understand, he is the cold genius but he seems to have difficulties to live in the cold? So he wishes to freeze to death!!
@onclebob2178 - The Cold Song - Also known as "What Power Art Thou?", this aria from King Arthur is about the spirit of winter, the Cold Genius, awakening from sleep and acknowledging that love can thaw winter. The Cold Genius is depicted in a red cloak, lying on an ice-covered pond, and the aria includes the lyrics, "What power art thou, who from below / Hast made me rise unwillingly and slow / From beds of everlasting snow?" . The song has been covered by many artists, including Klaus Nomi, Sting, and the Pet Shop Boys.
