As much as these trucks hold a special place in my memories, they had a slew of problems that rose colored glasses can’t help with. Anyone who has owned one of these can probably tell you every common rattle and rust hole these developed. You always carried a spare starter solenoid or two along with ignition modules. Fords had a very distinct power steering whine most likely were replaced 2-3 times. 4wd hubs and bearings went to hell quickly. The IFS systems on the 4wd were a pita to work on. Dual gas tanks? Give it a few years before they stop switching. If you got 130-150k on any of these motors you were doing good, really good. Matchbooks kept the vent windows tight.
Why? Major corrosion issues up-north, terrible fuel economy, and bad handling. In today’s world; “better than anything made today”…😂. However, I think an ‘86 5.0 EFI 5-speed in mint condition would be a desirable classic rig. Better than an equivalent year square body GM truck IMO.
Actually the bull and the brick with upgraded brakes. Out pull and out lasted my o6 dodge. I live in wv and 80s and 90s ford's are the only trucks I buy. My 08 Chevy. Fell apart. Yet my 88 is still a daily driver. Fuel mileage yea not great. But you don't buy a truck for fuel mileage you buy it to work
The bull-nose ford trucks are actually one of my favorite trucks. Makes me wish I never got rid of mine.

I had a 1994 And it Ran Better than a New Truck. I got rid of it because my X brother in law broke a spark plug in the Head my cousin tried to fix it but messed it up so it went bye-bye.
Same here, my first diesel was an 84 F250 4x4 I bought in HighSchool about 25 years ago, and a few years later I bought an 86 F350 4x4 with a turbocharged 6.9 International diesel and four speed, I’d give anything to have those two trucks back
Bullnose? Ha, more like box nose. I owned one of these pieces of trash, gutless and unreliable engines with throttle body fuel injection that either needs to get converted over to a carburetor to keep it running reliably and without unknown quirks, or just replace the entire truck. Regardless of the next person's opinion of it's appearance, the fact is these trucks were unreliable and underpowered due to heavy govt emissions standards and the auto industry in general was going through a guinea pig transitional phase into port fuel injection. Which port fuel injection was undeniably the best engine fuel delivery design of any vehicle era, no matter the make/model. It also reduced flooding the engine cylinders over time, making it the most reliable vehicles..... period.
@@DG-sf9ei so you’ve owned just one yet you think that validates your ignorant opinion? Hardly… I’ve owned several through the years, most were diesels and one was a 351w, all great engines. My 86 F350 had a Dana 60 front end that you couldn’t break if you wanted to and with an ATS turbocharger and T18 4spd with 3:55 gears I had plenty of power, got great fuel mileage and could pull a loaded gooseneck with a full size pulling truck and keep up with all the BigBlock Chevrolet guys with no trouble at all. All of mine were great trucks and I’d be lucky to still own any one of them.
I had an 86 87 92 all f150s with 300 stright 6s and a 94 bronco and I still own a 78 f150. These are the days when they made trucks to last.

What kind of mpg you getting on the six?
@samiam247 on the 80s models not so good because they both had the granny 4 speeds with a 3.55 rear-end so got around 15 at best . The 92 had a 5 speed so it got about 20. With 2 tanks I could go close to 500 miles. My 78 has a 302 with a three on the tree and it gets about the same with that tall gear.
Unfortunately the engines weren’t. But what’s great is plenty of options for mods. Such as intakes, heads, fuel injection.
I still own a 1995 f150 5 speed with the single gas tank and the 300 I still drive here 2 days a week she has over 320k on her and still running strong I only drive here twice a week because she is always been a heavy drinker and gas is still high for filling the tank up every other drive lol these big sixes are not the best on the dinosaur juice. I get about 15 mpg highway/country roads. I couldn't tell you in town I don't drive there much. a lot of country driving I've owned this truck the last 20 years and I got it from my dad that purchased it brand new so she's a family ford.
Ill take all of them if you don't want them. My fav truck years.
This was still back when people bought trucks only for work, rather on the farm or the job site. Now the trucks of today haul more bread and milk than anything else.

I had a 1986 F-250, 4x4, 4 speed, with a built 460. Loved it. That thing would pull a house down if I wanted it to. Spent its life as a farm truck and daily driver. Now I drive my 1989 F-250, 4x4, 460, automatic. Again, spent its life as a farm truck and daily driver. Both are XLT Lariats.

Also my older brother had a 97 1ton just a reg cab 4x with that big block bustin out swore it was gettin bout 6miles a Gallon im sure but even being the Chevy guy i am if i had to give a definition of a Real Truck id of showed you that Ford for sure!! Of Course brother talked like he was gonna keep it forever but he had it sold less than yr later Now brothers no longer with us He'd always talk Crap to me cuzz i had a 80 Chevy a few yrs before that an he'd be like Can ur Chevy do this!?? My friend had that special order Big Foot crusier truck, 460 with manual and he added a 6” lift with mud tires, that truck would go through anything in just two wheel drive. It scared the panties right off women. He married a girl who worked at a gas station because he was always there at 6 MPG

I have a long wheelbase 78 E-150 with a 351W and a four speed manual transmission and 4.11 9 inch rear end with limited slip. However it was badly vandalized, as the hate factor has really gotten bad in the last ten years and some of my neighbors really don't like the fact that I'm a Halfbreed...

Drove a 84 f-150 4×4 with the 300 six banger and a 4speed manual. It got 20 mpg, started at 20 below and lasted me for years. Wish I had a brand new one just like it
Had a couple of 300s. Loved em for low end power but they ran out of gas above 3200k rpm. Also had one that got its best mileage at 85mph. No idea why but got 26mpg at 85 vs 13mpg at 55. Miss those trucks.
Still have my 90 300 with 600k and all orginal.

I bought a 1980 beater 300 four speed. The oil came out of it like tar . I drove it for four years after. I wish I could find one like it new. Loved it for what it was. It was shot when I bought it.
My old lawn company had a fleet of 1ton 460s all sticks no a/c. Glorious. Pass everything except the gas station.

My first truck was an 81 F 150. 300 six with a 4 speed.Had it for 294 thousand miles before my friend bought it.
Easy to fix and maintain . It always started. Sometimes you don’t know how good you have it until it is gone.
I daily a bullnose and everywhere I go people love it. Never left me stranded, been more reliable than the newer shit my friends drive.
My first new truck was a 1984 F150, 302, automatic, 2wd. Super reliable, actually quite easy on gas.
Even the F150 with the 302 and a 4-speed got better mileage than today's 5.0 Coyote, if you drove it easy. And very capable off road with a good set of tall tires.
Oddly they did really well on fuel other then the tank switch thing was a tank ran and ran so did my 83 bronco
I had a 86f-250 4x4 regular cab four speed straight 6. It started in -30 not plugged in. When driving in winter you needed a extra floor mat to keep the cold out from the hole in the driver's floor. Paid $1000 for itr and put it to work doing landscape construction. Hauling gravel and sand daily. It's first winter of snow removal it made $32000 for the company. It was worked hard for 4 years hauld just shy of 2 tons of gravel one day 😂. Only asked for a parking brake cable and rear pinion seal probably from always being over loaded. Great truck

I laughed about the floor thing so damn true my dads I could see the road thru the floor before it got retired even then the junk yard used it to haul in the yard cause the newer trucks were junk lol
Plus that truck hauled a dang 5th wheel for 1/4 of its life for a machine shop still had over 400k

I owned an 82 F150 with the 300 straight six. 3 speed manual. The best truck I've owned. Never had any problems.
86 was one of the best years for a Ford truck. I had an 86, 88, 90, and 92 all f150s, all with 300 straight 6s and bolt action manual trans. Loved them all. But living in the northeast, the driveline always outlived the bodies and frames.
Sounds like the 54 New Yorker wagon I bought. Floors were gone, frame is damaged in spots. Looked like a high-mileage car, but when I took the heads off, I could see that it was actually a low-mileage car. Road salt will do that.
My uncle bought a brand new F250 4x4 in 1984. Back then, Ford offered "lifetime" rust warranty. As long as one single repair did not exceed the value of the truck, Ford would honor it. And they did just that. He brought the truck to a body shop every 6 months religously the whole time of ownership. And they did just that. Up here in MN salt destroys vehicles. He owned that truck till 2000 and it looked immaculate. But, the warranty only covered panels that rust from the inside out. It had tailgates, box sides numerous times, door shells, front fenders, couple of hoods, etc. But, the floor pans were gone.
The best qualities of these trucks
1-you can put a sheet of drywall or plywood in the back
2-you don’t need a ladder to look in the bed
3-the sight lines are great. You don’t need a backup camera just to park them
4-they cost about 70k less than a new truck
5-they were built to be utility vehicle and not a glorified family rig
6-they are simple with minimal bells and whistles
7-they come with scratches and dents. So you don't need to worry about keeping them new
8-the cost of tires is about 1/2 much compared to modern trucks

I know here in Texas the early to mid 80's Ford trucks were never really a very popular truck and I don't know why. I personally had a 84 and 86 full size bronco and a 83 f150 2wd and a 84 f250 2wd and regretted getting rid of them, but that happens sometimes.

I had an 81 F-150. I drove that a lot for many different uses. It was a great truck and I owned it for about 6 years, very dependable.
Got three in my yard now that I use often, both big block and small. Love these body styles.
I've got 13 of those trucks. 4 are drivable. Excellent trucks.
1985 f250 long bed extended cab 4x4 1 ton rear end 460cu The truck was an absolute beast in black. Had a huge center console and nice cushy bucket seats. Rear seat folded completely flat. Had it in Michigan but came from SW Colorado. 2nd cousin bought it and brought it down to Mississippi. Saved it from rusting out. Miss that old girl.
Nows the time to snatch the 80-86 up if u find one cheap. Theyre slowly but steadily going up in value. Theyre a joy to drive. Especially that satisfying click the floor shift makes when going through the gears. Youll never get that feeling in a new truck ever again. Or a manual for that matter

My first vehicle was/is an 83 F100. My favorite Ford trucks. Still have it over 20 years later.
I had a 83 F100, six with dual gas tanks and auto tranny. I loved that truck. Sold it for scrap in 1997 when I burned a hole in #1 cylinder ( my fault). Should have hung on to it.
Nice trucks. My Uncle has an 84 F150 extended cab long bed with 302 automatic. Use to go with him on many of his projects in that truck. Thanks for sharing. ❤

Trust me, people want them. But people are afraid to jump into a 40 year old truck unless it's near mint condition, and they also don't want to spend over $30,000 for a 40 year old truck. Plus, the 90s trucks are more popular right now, especially the Powerstrokes. A lot of people want turbo diesels, not the IDIs even though I'd prefer a 100% mechanical diesel. Way more reliable.
I had an 84 f250 with a 460 4 speed and that was the best truck I ever owned. In those days I was pulling a gooseneck trailer 2 to 3 days out of a week. Some times it was a cattle trailer, some times a flatbed with hay or a large tractor on it. At 80 thousand miles just like clockwork the timing chain went bad. My buddy at the parts house asked if I wanted to wake that engine up, of course I said hell yeah. He sold me a double roller timing chain that changed the cam timing from 1 degree retarded to 1 degree advanced. Man the difference was great. It definently woke that 460 up. With a loaded trailer behind it would pass anything on the highway except a gas station. During the same time I owned a chevy 1 ton with 454 4 speed and that ford 460 after the timing chain change would run off and leave that chevy with a load. That 84 ford was a great truck and lasted 335 thousand miles until it burned a hole in a piston. Had to put 5 clutches in it is the only major issue I ever had but I was dragging heavily loaded trailers a lot.
I have several of these trucks, I like how easy it is to swap a 460 into a 1/2 ton if you have a parts 3/4 ton with a 460. They're light, easy to work on and nothing beats the twin I beams for ride. The last of the carbed truck era. Great video!
I've had a good many Ford trucks from 67-96, with many of them being 80-86. I really like them. One of the best Bullnose trucks I had was a 86 F-250 2wd with a 300 six and 4 speed. That's one I should have kept. I think the bullnose are sharp looking. The worse thing Ford ever did was stop making the old school trucks with vent windows. I have an 06 Super duty, and to me it does not seem to be nearly as good as the older trucks.
I was in the new car business over 40 years, the wholesale buyers from Mexico grabbed up all those old Ford trucks and took them south. Paid more than market , they didn’t care how many miles they had .
The Bull Nose Fords are great looking pickups in many people's eyes. Ive had a couple and they were great pickups

I wish someone would tell everyone selling them that "no one wants them", cause people want above new prices for trashed ones in my area.

Even the ones with the 300-straight-six had a 9K lb. GVW- It's not about the engine...it's about the axles, suspension, and brakes. I know...I had an 81 F250 with the straight six. I also had an '86 F350 car-carrier with the 6.9 diesel (The last real diesel offered in a Ford truck!)- Both great trucks that could do anything you asked of them, and they didn't cost $100K and would run forever and rarely if ever need a repair (And when they did, it was cheap and easy to do). Gimme a vinyl or cloth bench seat and a rubber floor mat...don't need these sissy leather upholstered, carpeted pieces of junk with electric tailgates.

Too new if you live in CA. Pre 73 no smog no computer's. Keep it running with a ratchet, Cresent wrench, screw driver and feeler guage.

exempt is 75 and older. has been the rule since 2004. The governator changed the rules back then, it would have been a moving 30-year window from 05 if not changed.
Pre 75 for no smog here in Calif. Maybe even later now.
@@socalltd That moving 30 year window was actually Grey Davis's work. Before, it was 66 and later no matter what. Then Arnold became governor, and he made it 74 or 75 and earlier no smog checks.

Bullnoses are the best of the square body fords.
I grew up in the late 70's, 80's and to mid 90's. I saw these trucks as a kid when new. I dont think theyre ugly at all. I prefer the dent sides as far as looks but think theyre better looking than the brick nose afterwards. The front end anyway.
Yeah, I had a few '88/'89s and that was one ugly truck but they had the same 6-cyl 300s and 351Ws that made them reliable as sunrise.
I wish I still had my 86. I had swapped out the 6 cylinder after wearing it slap out. I put a 351 M400 out of a 78 f150. Carb, intake, heads and cam. I loved that truck. Like a fool got rid of it after I had completely brought it all the way back. Paint, interior everything
Why don’t they make Trucks like this anymore. All modern trucks are four doors and short bed and are huge.
I've had two 1983 with the 460 and both trucks 4x4. And I had an 85 with a 6.9 diesel and I had a 1991 with the 460. I was with my Mom in 1982 when we were farming and my dad had her price a new plain Jane 460,4 speed,4x4. $8250. I never forgot it
Makes me miss my 82 F150. It still breaks my heart that it was totaled.
Currently rebuilding my 86 250 300 6 4 speed. Owned it since 1990. Worked it for 25 years. 275000 miles. Just swapped in a straight dana 60 front end . 1 ton springs. Its about 7 inches taller. Welded in a custom hitch. Home made side steps. Reinforced the steering box mount. It on 37 military tires . Home made rear springs using 3 packs of springs . Swapping in lower gears. Its been a great truck and easy to work on. Ill rebuild everything before I part with it.
Talk about a rig built for a marathon! I'd love to see this all done up!

I think I'll post a video soon. There's something about the straight 6 and 4 speed combinations. It's not fast. It's reliable. When it needs something it's not expensive or complicated. The entire drive train is original. 3 clutches. I'm looking for a extra heavy flywheel. If anyone know of one that exists. Old motors used them and it seems to keep the torque rotating under load. When I bought it in 1990 I was a kid. I was into maintain things. My friends thought I was crazy keeping this old girl for decades. It's made me money and only got towed a few times. Drove it to Hatteras to go camping and surfing. 55 stay alive the whole way... My son learned how to drive the 4 speed at about 10 or 11 in it. Wish I video taped it. I'll give it to him one day. Promised me he wouldn't sell it.
I have a 1981 ford f150 4x4 300 4 speed granny, poor thing belonged to my uncle before me and I remember when I was a kid him beating the hell out of it knocking over trees in the woods and having that bed and trailer rounded over with scrap metal. The guy he bought it from in 1994 used it as a daily driver and in the glove box is the original paperwork from a ford dealership in Booneville, Arkansas dated 10/10/80 says he bought that truck brand new for $7,960. But after all it’s been through it’s never been off the road and it’s never let me down.
Sold my 86 a few years ago and wish I still had it today. F-150 short bed with the Lariat & XLT package and it did everything I ever threw at it.
They are known as an f150 XLT Lariat as I have a 1990 model. Really nice trucks.

Back in the early 90s my boss had two of those trucks 3/4ton 4x4 6 cylinder. We live up in bush country with lots of hills and mud. The trucks were in great shape because they were slow and under powered. Then he bought a 1990 3/4 302 4x4 and once a week it was in the trees because no one was used to driving a truck with more power.

I bought my 1986 f 250 supercab diesel in1987(10 months old) with 10,000 miles on it for $17,000 and I still have it!
I had an 86' F250 with a 4.9 inline six... very rugged and reliable indeed.
I've had an 83, 84, and now an 85 all f150 4x4. 83 had a Windsor with auto, and the other 2 had the 300 and granny 4 speed. All were very reliable and very capable offroading. I still have the 84 with a broken frame for a parts rig after 10+ years of beating on it Rock crawling, and the only time it left me stranded temporarily was a fuel pump. I absolutely love these trucks!!!!

I had a 1980 F150 long wheelbase for 25 years that looked exactly like those two.1980 was the first year of that body style. It was the most reliable truck I ever owned. Never left me walking even once. No computer, no fuel injection, no automatic transmission, 2 wheel drive, king pins instead of ball joints, cast iron twin I beam front axles, 300 cu in straight six cylinder. Over the 25 years that I had it I rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the heater core, radiator, 1 master cylinder, 2 water pumps, 2 clutches, couple of brake jobs, rebuilt the front end, u joints and 1 valve job. All normal maintenance for a truck as old as it was and I did all of the maintenance myself. It still had the original starter and alternator. I put 350,000 miles on it and it was still running when I traded it in on a new truck. The only thing bad about it was its thirst for gasoline. Wish I still had it.

I like these Ford trucks, but are they better than my 73 GMC 3/4 ton? (No catalytic converter, no smog checks).
I agree and I own and drive a Chevy Silverado. The square body Chevrolet was in my opinion the worst quality truck that Chevy had produced up to that point. I know that’s blasphemy today given what people are paying for them but it’s still a fact. They would absolutely rot out down here in the Southeast without the help of road salt. Interiors, door panels, and other materials were as cheap as they could get. Ford at least had much better corrosion protection and their hood wouldn’t fold in two if you pulled too hard on it. Like I said, I’ve owned a Silverado longer than any other brand truck I’ve ever purchased but I’ve never understood the infatuation with square body trucks.
@@prevost8686 Yes, they were serious rusters, not quite as bad a 57 Chrysler products, but not much better either, although here in California, rust is not much of a problem. The interior materials seem pretty good on mine. The folding was supposed to be about safety. There was no separate vent panel right in front of the windshield, so GM was worried that in a collision, that hood would crash through the windshield like a draw knife and behead you, so they put that weak spot in the middle. Many of us welded pieces of steel across the weak spots to prevent that. In the 80s, they dropped that "feature". We love those trucks because the 70s and early 80s ones were free of computers, sensors, etc.
Dent side was better but the bullnose was a more refined look.
I had a 1980 F250 4x4 with the 351 4speed I paid 500 for it had to replace the rear end and the battery tray, was lucky enough to find a full floater Dana 60 in the right gear ratio and to have a friend that is a ace with a welder to fab me a new battery tray. Loved that truck .

They never made a bad ford truck. Frankly I would love to have one to restore and in my book They are not bad looking at all

I grew up with Ford trucks. My first new truck was a 1980 F350 with a 351 and a 4 speed 2WD. I put a 12 foot flatbed on it and worked it to death for 5 years. In 1985 I ordered a new truck with the same engine/trans setup but was told if I wanted a standard transmission the only choice was a 300 I-6 or a diesel. Well I wasn't sold on the diesel at that time as they were a new fangled engine then and I didn't think the 6 cylinder could cut the mustard. So I ordered the 460. The only reason I decided to buy a new one was because 1985 was the last year for the Reagan investment tax credit. I took the body off the 1980 and installed on the 1985 and sold the chassis for half of what I paid for it. That 460 had so much power that it could pull a house down. I drove the '85 for 20 years and worked it to death. Neither one of those trucks ever let me down. They were better than anything made today. I don't know how they can justify the $ 70,000 to $ 90,000 price tag today to replace the same truck when the '85 only cost me $11,600.
These trucks deserve full restoration and cleaning inside and out, even adding twin turbos and off-road or all terrain race tires for off-road racing options.
The worst truck might have been a 97 For ranger with the 4 cylinder in it.

My favorite Ford truck was one I had back in the early '90s. It was an F-150 2-wheel drive with a wood bed, 4-speed, and the inline 6 300cid no a/c. I used it to tow my 32ft 1968 Silver Streak travel trailer in Arizona and New Mexico. Was a very solid truck. To me the best thing about the older trucks is if you used it for it's intended purpose it got dirty inside and out you just hosed it out no worries about getting electronics wet because everything was manually operated. even back in the 90s I tried to get a new one with just the basics was told it would have to be specially ordered from the factory and would cost more than a lariat edition of the same truck. P.S. back in the late 80s I promised myself I would never pay more for a vehicle than my parents paid for their house which they purchased new back in 1960 for $17,500, it was a 3bd, 1 1/2 bath brick home w/ full basement and attached garage on a 1/4 acre corner lot, and to this day I have lived up to that promise.
I have 86 Ford XL 4x4 all restored. 302 Ford with a RV cam. Edelbrock performer intake with Holley 4 barrel. 4 speed and 9 inch ford rearend.
Funny you mention base models and what they came with. I bought a new 94 F150 XL stripped which was 300-6, 5 spd manual..6’ bed small 21575/15 tires ..steel wheels… no radio no speakers and a plastic plug in top of fender where the antenna would be. No headliner ..no AC..crank windows no rear slider vinyl bench and rubber floor mat and no rear bumper which I paid an additional $200 for dealer to install before delivery. $10,999 before bumper lol

i had a 1981 F250. Third owner and drove that truck hard for 18 years. It was a beast and was still going strong when I sold it. It was the second best truck I've ever owned. The best one is my 2005 Ranger that I drive today and have been driving for 19 years. It still runs and drives like new.
My uncle has an 84 f250 4x4 with the 6.9 diesel, best truck ever built
I've had two the trucks years ago had 83 f100 and 85 f150 but my favorite ford truck body style is 73 to 79

Definitely love the 73 to 79 myself I owned 73 F150 with a 302 always started with no problems no matter the weather or temperature was 2 wd but didn’t care still loved it anyway

I had an 86 in high school with a 300i6 and a 4spd. Had 15 trucks since and that was still my favorite to this day. Used to put blocks between the frame and spring to put almost a full chord of wood in the back selling firewood in high school. Thing never let me down

Had a 1982 but was an f150 long bed 4x4 with the NP435 4 speed manual transmission (aka granny gear) only a 302 cid no a/c. I put f250 diesel truck 4x2 front coil springs and buckets along with the f250 rear leaf springs on it. Pulled great kinda wish i of kept it

I had an 85 F250 and loved it. Brand new crate 351W, C6, 3.55 rear. Passed everything but a gas pump.
My dad had an ’81 (I think) F-150, it had “Ford” spelled out on the front edge of the hood instead of the blue oval on the grille. Red on red, 4.9L straight six, 4 speed, 4x4. It was unstoppable, lots of good times growing up in that truck. Northeast winters took their toll on the frame and he had to scrap it. Big shame because it was mechanically sound. I’d like to own a non rusted out example one day. To me, it’s what a truck should be.
The Bull nose Ford's are getting more popular. If these trucks were for sale in Florida with working AC, you probably wouldn't have them anymore.

Had a couple.. 87 f350 351 2wd $600, 86 f250 460 4x4 like new $1,200, and 3 Broncos from this era that i paid between $150 and $400 for. These trucks were slept on for years which was great for those who could appreciate them for what they are. I wanted another but came across a low mileage chevy k1500 in great shape for $2000 and just couldnt pass it up.
Ford trucks are much better trucks than Chevy trucks.

As someone who has owned 50+ vehicles NO manufacturer is better than any other. All have great vehicles and lemons. I would put my stock 93 Chevy against any stock 05 Ford. Why? Because 05 Ford engines are dog piles. By the same token,my 93 can't hold a candle to my 86 Ford. ALL have good and bad.
I owned a plain-Jane 1984 F150 with the inline 6 and 4 speed . Was a 4x4 . I LOVED it !!! Owned for 3 years and had 1 problem only . The left front hub failed . Ultimately , I sold it and purchased a 1986 F250 XLT Lariat . Had the 351 with automatic and 4x4 . LOVED IT !! Sold because I was married and we bought a brand new rig . That was in 2000 . Now ...a guy I work with has a 1985 F350 with I think a 351 . But it is all apart . He was restoring but he lost interest ....I offered him $500 AS IT SITS . He is thinking on it ....hahaha
And he's right about that camshaft stuff. I have a 74 Lincoln MK 4. Of course it's post smog Era with the 4 degree retarded cam, and she couldn't spin the tires, then I got an adjustable timing set from Summit and advanced it 4 degrees, and now she'll roast em!!😅

Had an 89 F150 with the 351 in it. Got pretty bad mpgs. But it was a tank. And after I put new shocks on it actually rode really nice on the highway.
