Reba is often so nice to Barbara Jean. She should have been the one in the pageant since she is the actual grandmother. It wasn't really fair for Barbara Jean to compete against all the others most of whom are probably much older than Reba.
When I was in my late 30's I was asked to enter a pageant in the 20 to 30 division. I could have easily passed for that age and won. The other contestant was the right age. She was painfully shy and had some other issues so she was very socially and physically awkward. I declined to enter. I didn't want to cheat and I didn't care about winning. She was so happy to have won and it didn't matter to her that she was the only contestant in that age group. I was happy for her.
