  • In this video I'd like to show you a new way how to easily and successfully propagate a bunch of Star Jasmine plants just simply and directly burying the star jasmine stems into the dirt in the container.
    络石藤/风车茉莉花商恨死你了,因为你学会我这一招,络石藤/风车茉莉花商就破产了!
    Star Jasmine, also known as Confederate Jasmine, is a popular flowering vine plant in California and southern U.S. states, where it is used both on vertical trellis applications as well as a spreading ground cover. This evergreen vine plant is prized for its very fragrant, star-shaped, white flowers which bloom all summer long, and blanket of thick, dark green foliage.
    I personally think this method might be the easiest way to propagate Star Jasmine, no special techniques, tools or materials are needed for you, basically you just need to prepare some potting soil, twist ties and metal pin or little rock. NO ROOTING HORMONES ARE NEEDED! You just remove the leaves form the vine, attach and bury the star jasmine stems into the container with dirt in it, water plants periodically. The next thing you need to do is just WAITING! Time is variable, usually you can definitely see the root growth after one month, but the propagation time really depends on how much roots you want to get. The longer you wait the better result you can get. The more and stronger roots you get, the easier the plants survive. I have easily propagate many Star Jasmine plants using this new method.

      Totally I agree, this the easiest way you can get a pot full of star Jasmine. I will propagate some using this way this weekend.

      To be honest, so far this is the best way to do it, no risk and success rate pretty high. All the Star Jasmine plants in the pots are doing fantastic. Good luck!

      @@LAyangfamily I agree because it is still attached to the mother plant. I know you can do this on Westeria and other "viney" type plants.

      @@stephenyoung4433 Correct, you got the point, the plants will not feel stress, this way also works for other plants with similar structures.

      @@LAyangfamily Thanks a lot, I have already cut the stems and plant them into the big 7-11 cup and left it in the balcony, is it alright to let it be in the balcony or its too hot to leave it there? I live in Bangkok now is a bit hot and humid

      @@nftplanetexchange9738 if you can give me a little bit more details about how you did that, I could be more helpful. Generally I would recommend to propagate Star Jasmine using ground layering or air layering which you would not cut the stems from mother plant, so the target plants would not feel stress, also you will not worry about whether they can grow roots or not. Basically you can use either container or cup. Growing Star Jasmine in soil or water from cuttings might be harder based on my experience. You can review my videos to find these techniques. Any new growth should avoid direct sunlight and recover in the shade. Humidity or moisture is OK for plants. Do not let them dry out. Actually Star Jasmine like to grow in the partial sun/shade. Any questions just leave comments. Thanks.

    What other plants and vines ipomoea morning glory can grow this way?

    • @LAyangfamily
      @LAyangfamily  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, this technique is called ground layering or kind of air layering, it is a very important and useful gardening skill to propagate many different kinds of plants. It works for many plants such as star jasmine, straw berry and hydrangeas, it works better for those plants with lower branches and easy to bend them (such as runners). Good luck, hopefully it is helpful to you.

      @LAyangfamily  Před 2 lety +1

      @@HaiderKarar168 I live in LA, weather is pretty mild even in the winter, so I can do this any time all year round. Actually I don't cut off branches until I see roots so the braches are not stressed when they grow roots.
