Wow can’t believe it’s only $499! I mean considering this thing does stuff guitarist couldn’t even dream about yet 20 years ago. It’s amazing. Honestly thinking about selling one of my tube amps I barely use to get this thing. It’s literally an all in 1 modern guitarists dream.

Looks amazeballs! Its got pretty much all the features youd need but missing one thing, a mobile app. Need to be able to adjust it in a band situation without buying/carrying an extra piece of gear.

I don't think a mobile app is needed. The only thing the app does are some small power Amp tweaks, the ability load new irs and midi programming. Everything else is done with the knobs on the pedal.

I was surprised over how damn good this one sounds straight into an interface. Sounds like full-blown Friedman amp! I'm a little disappointed that it's not a complete amp-in-a-pedal (with power amp), but I guess they were thinking that many people use powered FRFR speakers or connect it directly to FOH these days. They've also thought about practically everything when designing it, making it more versatile than most full-blown amps. I would probably still choose the Amp1 Iridium or V4 Kraken Amp over this one (if money wasn't a problem), but if you really want that Friedman sound and you only had $500 to spare, this is the obvious choice.
As soon as I saw all of the other demos my first thought was "when is Kyle demoing this so we can hear what it'll sound like for metalheads and hardcore kids".

Trim pots, if I'm not mistaken (probably am, I've been drinking since 1:00, and it's currently 3:30) . But I think the mini pots with a flat screwdriver (I wouldn't use the pick, unless you use a really heavy pick) is a trim pot.
Also, thanks for the sponsored video, the way you provide the audio and play the riffs tells me a lot about how it works, saves me from driving an hour to my local big guitar store to be disappointed when they don't have one.

Like this and a lot of stuff is so complicated without a audio engineer.
So I am seeing impressive sounding specs on their site. Looks like they run both 12AX7s at maximum PV and cascade all 4 triode stages, but with a cathode-foller driving the tone stack, so one of the gain stages is effectively reduced, but not removed from the chain. It *doesn't* seem like there's any diode clipping or solid state gain stages to "give it a little extra," the get the "little extra" by having 4 triode stages in the preamp circuit. There is the *option* of using the emulated output, which obviously puts solid state stuff in the signal path at the end, but high gain tones are mostly preamp anyway, and if you use it like that, you were probably gonna be using an emuated power amp and cab IR anyway, and this just gives you a nice one that doesn't require live-monitoring with a plugin or maybe multiple plugins, which eiminates one source of pain in the ass - the latency issue of trying to live-monitor with a plugin IR on anything less than the fastest machine with a shitton of RAM. Either way, not using the IR and driving a power amp instead, this IS just an all tube pre. It's like the benefit of a preamp pedal without all the cheating most companies do. And of course, the most important part, it sound fucking phenomenal. It's expensive, but one must bear in mind, it's basically the front end of a Friedman tube amp, it's only a pedal in the sense that it is built into a smaller chassis and is operated by footswitches. I'd use this into the FX return of my Peavey Classic 30 for recording.
On that topic the latency the IR + power amp sim adds is very small. I believe Friedman stated ~2ms. Very good and beats most IR pedals on the market.

Homie don’t be afraid of MIDI. The decent controllers come with software that makes it easy. My Morningstar pedal is great and I have programmed it to control my WAZA TAE, eventide chorus and Jackson audio golden boy all at once. It’s amazing and once you “get” how it works, the sky is the limit.
How do you get this to talk to your DAW? Can you use the balanced out direct to interface? Thanks.
Hey, this might be a question for Kyle Bull 2 if you wouldnt mind passing it along ;-) I would love you thought on some IR's for mid and hi gain tones, I started to use IR's from a company called Tone Factor and i find them very good although limited in cabs you would usually use for hi gain. But still really cool. Maybe a shoot out between a real cab and mic compared to various companies IR's for that cab? Loving the channel and that other guy as well, appreciate you... 🤔ye

Why there are not more pedals like this? I always hated tweaking, when i had a peavey 5150 that was instant gratification and I could get any sound i wanted.... but it was so big and loud (the combo version)...
Although it has a 12 volt PSU it had an internal voltage pump to increase to proper (approx) 250 volts for the tubes

As cool as this is, all I can be excited for is the chance that Soldono or Deziel might make a similar product.
I would give anything to have tube preamp pedals for the SLO or VH4 and without having to pay for the extra gear you need to run synergy modules.
I've been wanting them to better bridge the gap between their cheaper solid state sounds and super expensive tube amps and it might finally be happening.

@@12askerr It's more about all three brands being linked through Boutique Amp Distrobution, hence why they all have mini 30 watt solid state heads, preamp pedals, and synergy modules all based off their flagship amps.
It seems that if one brand comes up with a new and affordable version of their amps, the others will follow.

I used to use the BE-OD deluxe straight into my interface and then used an IR in my DAW. Looking back, I probably needed to use a power amp sim before the IR because the distortion sounded a little lifeless, but it wasn't all that bad
I think if they were going to allow for presets, they should have used infinity knobs with LEDs to show where the knob is "dialed". That would probably add a lot to the price, though
Yeah preamp pedals are missing "something" without a power amp sim of some type added. The Victory Kraken v4 preamp sounds so anemic running right into a DAW+IR. Friedman got this product right includeing a power amp sim.
That's what I do with the ampero 2 stomp and my be-od! It's sound way better though a clean amp simulation.
@@jorgefernando9306try using the power amp block just after the preamp. It brings any preamp to life and gives it depth. Using the power amp Sim has bought my ampero stomp to life. Full saturated tube-like distortion

This is probably the most attractive product I have seen in the last year. Sweet Tube tones? Check. High(er) gain? Check. IRs? Check. MIDI? Check. USB software control? Check. Boost? Check. Individual channel control of boost and IRs? Check! Effects loop? Check! Bypass IRs as preamp only? Check!

sad that this is much more expensive here in germany. i thought that friedman is a german brand because the name sounds german but it is US. i tried the older friedman synergy modules and they lacked some punch and gain for my needs, its more an old school kind of distortion. the new module that has replaced all the old ones looks more promising to me, maybe its more suited for modern high gain sounds so i really wonder if this new pedal is really useable for modern high gain. cheers 🎸🎸
Note that US prices do not include taxes. If your price includes VAT, the price difference might not be as much as expected. I paid $48 USD in taxes on top of the $499 MSRP.
It's not all bad though, you should see what we in the States have to pay for Engl and Diezel amps! I want a fireball 100...but those prices...

For thrash, I still prefer the BE-OD Deluxe, it's more aggressive in the upper frequencies in a way that works well for heavier styles.
The bright and tight switches along with the EQ and Gain are all completely analog. They can’t be controlled with the software and will never be updated to.

The voltage actually gets stepped up internally to the hundreds of volts. I think it's either two or 300 volts internally. 12 volts would never heat up those tubes the way you want them to in order to get the most out of them. Which is why most pedals with tubes in them are a gimmick but not this one.

dave said it was a two part reason. One not everyone has usb c, and two, that port is more “robust” its a durability thing.
How does this compare to the Two Notes Revolt?
This sounds better to my ears, and has a true IR loader. The Revolt only had an analog cab sim out with no option to bypass.

@@acealvarez1038 I honestly haven't played that pedal since I did the video, so I can't remember the exact tonality, but I remember it sounded good overall. I think you'd be fine with either but I will say I guarantee the Friedman will have better resale ability down the road, so keep that in mind.

you'll see for the last year it's compressed, sounding nearly always the same and exactly like direct to interface and brickwalled in your face.
something is wrong I guess it's the more expensive interface (I don't know it exists). other reason could be a new Chinese made sm57, go Mexican or original vintage USA.

It would be a nice feature but you'd need a LOT more engineering to have the knobs be able to be controlled in the app, I don't think it's something they could just patch in.

You're in the minority. I have modelers too, but a lot of people are sick of the endless tweaking and rabbit hole of tone chasing with too many options. This is super straightforward and sounds great out of the box. It's the perfect blend between an amp/digital.

Sure the endless tweaking is a drawback, but at least you have those options for what you paid and you might find something interesting. Plus there are effects other than just amps and cabs. I'm sure there's just as many people who want more for their money as there are who would prefer to have something like this that keeps you focused
@slayabouts Because none of those are true amps. Yeah they're amazing but they don't have the same feel and nuance of real tubes. The audience can't tell the difference, but players that like tubes want an option to still get to use an amp and run direct that doesn't take up a lot of space. This is the perfect solution. I ordered mine last night. I have a podgo and was gonna buy the fractal fm3, but I was seriously dreading all the tweaking and hours I knew I was gonna spending dialing in a tone and settings etc..

Hi Mary, you may want to check your facts. I refunded Jeremy yesterday. The product I sent him was perfectly fine, and was not damaged when I sent it. I have no control over what UPS does with my shipments. I lived up to my word and gave Jeremy a full refund, even though I am not the person at fault here. As long as the seller has pictures of parcel at time of shipping and there are no damages, the seller is not responsible for damages sustained during shipping. Purchaser most of the time, can get shipping insurance. The seller has absolutely zero control over the what shipping companies do with the parcel after it leaves the seller’s possession. Kyle had no obligation to refund him but he did anyways because he has integrity. Not cool to come on someone’s livelihood page and spread false information.
