I was at Royal St Georges when Palmer won in 1975 I think. I had the pleasure of standing behind Gary Player on the practice range and watched in amazment at just how Good he was at striking the golf ball. He had his son on the bag and was hitting clubs through the bag. It was no until the 4 and 3 iron that his son has to move a yard or so to catch the ball after the first bounce. Ball after ball going exactly where his son was standing.. Amazing to watch the balance and accuracy.
tomorrow i will do the 5 iron with the feet together to work on release feel. And hitting wedges out of the sand. to practice hitting the ball first with wedges. Thanks Gary!
I wonder if Gary Player has any piece of clothing that is not Black or White (every now and then he wears colors). Given that he has lived such a disciplined life regarding exercise and health, perhaps he sees life in black and white terms. I can understand that because I was in that frame of mind for many years. However, when he says there are many different ways to properly hit a golf ball, it tells me he has the benefit of both worlds of thought.
Say whatever you want about Gary Player, but he’s right on the money when it comes to swing knowledge. Finding things that work for you, while keeping certain fundamentals in mind: that’s the secret! There is no one way to do golf. As long as you can play well, not hurt yourself, and enjoy it!

I saw Gary the other day saying that he doesn’t take the club as straight back as he used to. He prefers to take it more inside with his arms closer to his body.
Liked this video, gary had,has great flexibility. He was correct about most of his player analysis but bobby jones srarted his club with his shoulders/ hips , the swing went inside, he crossed the line at the top had a slight pause and rerouted the swing inside on a slightly different arc. He hit the ball long and could move it however he wanted he never tried to hit it far always swinging within himself.

Dang this brings back memories. I had this instruction tape on VHS in the late 80's. My dad mail ordered it for me when I was on the high school team.
