Lyrics:
If you wanna roll me, then you gotta roll me all night long
And if you wanna use me, then you gotta use me til I’m gone
I’m not a fallen angel, I just fell behind
I’m out of luck and I’m out of time
If you don’t wanna love me, let me go
I’m runnin for the last train
I’m runnin for the last train home
If you wanna know me, then you gotta know me through and through
And if you’re gonna hurt me, then you gotta hold me next to you
No matter how you work it, things go wrong
I put my heart where it don’t belong
So if you’re comin with me let me know
Maybe you’re the last train
Maybe you’re the last train home
I’m on the last train runnin
I’m on the last train runnin
And I surrender
And I surrender

I didn’t realize how much I missed the rains down in Africa..
I hoped I wasn't the only one thinking that
You’re not the only one
Like Africa but without the chorus, I was waiting for the payoff.
Damn! I'm late to the party. I heard AFRICA in the first few measures and was about to to put your exact comment.... Good thing I checked first.
😉
When John Mayer is back with his long hair, you already know the album’s going to be epic.
Preach!!!!
Absolutely!.
Leave the door open !!!!
Yeahhh dudes, sure!!🤙🏼
Foreal! It’s that Continuum hairstyle
Who else came hear from "The Bear"? Love this song so much, sent it to so many people. A bit of Toto "Africa" meets "Midnight Train To Georgia" meets John Mayer's brilliance. Nostalgic, current, timeless, all at the same time.
same
Sounds like mid 80s clapton to me
No I'm here cause when the song first came out I was obsessed with it 😊
Yep came here from The Bear (about to watch Season 2). Actually Googled it as Last Train Running and got Whiskey Falls (not a bad track as it happens) and thought it was that until I looked at the playlist and then John Mayer blew it out the water!
Started watching the show a few days ago, just finished episode 6
Finished the show (so far) yesterday, can't wait for Season 3!
Heard this song used on an episode of "The Bear." An iconic mashup of two absolute bangers.
Such a great show, too!
Just got done watching, had to find it

Let me be the first to say that I can't wait for a collaboration between John Mayer and Mary Spender. I'm pretty sure that's gonna happen one day in the near future
I'm excited to see John's version of your song Mary😅
With an excellent version of his own song, might I add! Big fan, Mary.
oh "USE ME" yea, oh "LAST TRAIN HOME" yeah lol... teehee....
This should have won a Grammy. C'mon America.
That 80's vibe is awesome
Just heard this song on "The Bear" (Season 1) and I just can't get it out of my head
Me too

Just finished the episode and went to look it up. I love the old school 80s vibe, too.

John Mayer: Yes.
For real dude this sounds a lot like a Phil Collins song 🔥
Such an original joke format you have here...
I thought it was a Toto cover at first
@John Mayer yeah I am sure this is 100% legit
@John Mayer did you ever find the song Neil Young sung after the gold rush of 1971?
I can't get this song out of my head!I'm an 80's woman and this is totally my vibe...😁
same with me, also can't get this song out of my head. You can't get more 80s than this and even the music video is clearly very much meant to be 80s style..
It's the synths :) - and yeah, the song is epic
Yes, me too
Hello Thanks for your comment and supports, your comments and constant support has brought me this far. Keep Supporting
Can definitely hear a kind of 80’s Clapton influence vibe
I was born in the 80s and I remember as a little kid sitting in front of the TV screen watching MTV music videos of Hornsby, Winwood, Springsteen, Clapton, Don Henley, etc... Mayer did a great job harking me back to that nostalgic time with this song and video. Thank you sir!
"I am John Mayer, and I am ready to be an '80s star!"
True haha
And I’m totally there for it! Fur sure! 😃
Hahahahha yes!

Sounds like TOTO!
I’m watching this in 144p for that extra added 80’s potato feel.
Ok wow, that's like time travel. Love it :D
My first thoughts 80s
Actually makes the song THAT much better!
Great suggestion.
😅🤣
Dude is hands down one of the best song writers of my generation
Is it just me or is this song totally trite and could’ve been written in 10 minutes?
Is it me or is this one of the catchiest songs of the decade so far ✌️
@@00.388 are you bitter ? Lots of great songs have been written in the space of a few minutes. Supersonic was written waiting for a Chinese takeaway . Great song

@Jeanine Bruen Yes we do!😊
This is mid to late 80s clapton
Love the “Toto - Africa” synth 😂 so good. John Mayer doesn’t miss.
it's the same keyboardist & percussionist!
@@betty4774 that’s awesome! 🤘
@@betty4774 not quite. David Paich was the original. Greg Phillinganes joined Toto when David fell ill
I love this song, too. It is like a mix between Phil Collins’ 1981 album, Face Value, Toto’s “Africa” (Toto IV, 1982), Eric Clapton’s “Forever Man” (Behind The Sun, 1985), Bruce Springsteen’s “Tougher Than The Rest” (Tunnel of Love, 1987), Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love” (Back in the High Life, 1986), and Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” (So, 1986)

Ha, I was thinking that, too!
Same thing I thought. Of course Johnny Depp doesn't look like Johnny Depp anymore, maybe Johnny Mayer is filling in the gap
Haha haha
The Bear brought me here. Beautiful song!
What I love about John is that everyday and every year, he just keeps moving forward like a train. He's been producing music for years and never seems like he wants to stop. He learns from mistakes and keeps going forward a more improved musician.
😏 Yes!
John Mayer can sing a hundred different songs about trains and I’d still listen.

Best song of Mr Mayer’s career in my opinion. This album, caused me to buy a Silver Sky and get into blues. And I couldn’t stand him before. This song turned it all around.

Look at his shorter hair in 2017 with "Love On The Weekend", and "Still Feel Like Your Man." Amazing songs from then. Good song here too. Long hair does not always mean great music.

John, I just wanna say that you changed my life.
Get in line, we all wanna tell him that
Best comment on the web this year 🌟 🌟 🌟
I love the retro 80s vibe of this song and music video. Well done, Mr. Mayer.
When John came out with Sob Rock months ago, I kind of dismissed it as just an attempt to portray 80’s genre. Then it came up on a John Mayer playlist. There is a bit of genius in this music, and a subtle, simple taste of nostalgia. I must have listened to this 20 times with the top down on the Jeep yesterday. 🎸👌🏻
If Toto’s Africa and Clapton’s Pretending had a baby, this is what would pop out

@Jay Fuqua Buddy, not only is it the same synth, the DX1, but the percussionist Lenny Castro, and the guy playing the keyboard, Greg Phillinganes, were both members of the band Toto.
