- HUGE shoutout to Jailton for planting these 2 Trachcarpus fortunei in NYC!! They look great. Update on the only palm tree growing in a NYC public park in Manhattan. Sabal Minor / Dwarf Palmetto still looking good in Tompkins Square Park in New York City. Filmed on 12/3/23 & 12/20/23. Keep up the great work Jailton!!!

I think we should plant them all over the island ❤
If you're a palm in NYC, what you want more than anything else is to be planted in an alcove surrounded on 3 sides, open side facing south or southeast. I can't tell what direction the Windmill Palm alcove is facing, but it's otherwise a good microclimate. Bricks all around to radiate warmth. In a huge urban heat island. Good stuff! Loved the first Sabal.
We need a spring update! Hopefully they survived, although it was a relatively mild winter.
I was thinking the same thing. I’ll post one soon
I guess, Sabal minor in Tompkins Square Park, then Sabal minor on a street somewhere and finally 2 Trachcarpus fortunei at an apartment complex across the street. Maybe have writing on the vid where you're at and especially what we're looking at, some of us still aren't the best at identifying palms. Great vid though, thanks for showing these palms, they look great although haven't had a real cold wave yet this winter.
Yes, I need to do better at labeling the palms. New Year's resolution. I hope it will be a mild winter but the Windmill Palm Trees are planted in a perfect microclimate.
@@ShoeTELEVISION yes, maybe something written on the screen if you prefer not to talk. I see it on vids all the time, but your decision, maybe can be written in description in a little more detail. You did have the first location written down.
I love the windmills on both sides of the walkway.
They all look really great
LOVE your updates!
