- Welcome to another Tutorial video for MKX, this time Ketchup and Mustard explain how to beat Jacqui Briggs in her Full Auto Variation.
This obviously does not include how to handle a smart Jacqui player that uses her zoning intelligently, as that will always come down to the habits of the player and you will need to think much more carefully, as will they. Advancing on the machine gun is the same, but what to do at the jump distance becomes more footsie oriented.
This video is more focused on Jacqui players that excessively use the Machine gun and the armoured wakeup, essentially a second coming of Deathstroke from Injustice, who was also a very easy character to beat in the hands of lesser skilled players.

PNDKetchup Could you do a vid on how to deal with Sub Zero Ice clone spammers, i can't seem to get in on them, they always hide behind clones and throw iceballs and when i get closer i just end up hitting the clone and freezing -___- , i use Jason, what's the best way to get around it and punish them?
Whenever I see Full-Auto Jacqui online I just go and pick Shinnok: most of the spammers are inexperienced players, Shinnok is used rather rarely online and the AI seems to forget about using his air teleport so it's quite a surprise to them when they see that I just air teleport on top of them, smash in an overhead and combo their asses. :D You can feel them freak out, most of the time you already won after the first second because they are just so confused so you can just have your fun with them: for maximum trolling it is highly recommended to use Shinnok's impostor variation so you can just annoy them with Jacqui's own special move.
I truly find doing this educational: sometimes they get themselves together and go for a rematch to try and fight, that's when I start to show some respect and go easier on them.
I used Jason's unlimited armor to walk through the bullets and full combo punished. I did eat the damage but it looked so fucking cool walking through those bullets.
Justin Hansen I tried that but the start-up on the armor move is so long that it never actually activates.
You may get damaged but that's a really smart move you make up for it with a 4 or 3 hit combo!
Yes it is to slow I tried that didn't work but I still managed to beat the spammer.

@@lobopumpchainsavage not if you evade the shots by jumping and then teleporting mid-jump. Also, he/she can block my teleport all he/she wants as my low/overhead mixups are coming right after followed by stuns. They can't handle it if only they know is spamming one move

The problem with this strategy, is that a good jacqui player knows when your close enough for the jump-in. At that point theyre prepared to anti-air you into combo pubish for jumping..
Thank you for the tutorial this reminds me of when I was learning the Death Stroke match up as green lantern. Lots of neutral ducking and walking him back to the corner. Also punishing wake ups with strong combos. Overall just playing solid.
This is really helpful. I felt dumb always losing to something so silly.
I think one thing many players forget is that a lot of the projectiles in MKX can be neutral ducked - not just this attack from Jacqui! It's amazing how many people choose to eat chip damage from moves that could be avoided altogether by a little bit of ducking (or even timing a sweep attack to go underneath)...don't get me wrong, I am not a Jacqui player and would also not be lame enough to just use the same one or two attacks to try and win the match anyway, but if you don't learn the way to counter that move and aren't able to close the distance I can understand why people would lose / get annoyed by people spamming the same move!
What I'm trying to say in a round-about way is: Good job illustrating how to deal with projectile-heavy opponents! Hopefully a lot of people experiencing issues with this "style" of play can overcome the opponents they encounter who employ these tactics now!

WiseKing Take the cocky online player and slap em' good. As Summoner Quan I don't even need to get in, I just crouch the machine gun and get a free MB rune into rune, then bat summon.
Summoner quan outzones jacqui fiercely.
CarbonitePlays Think part of it is the character sizes, by looking at the bullets neutral ducking should still get hit by it.
Scott Jenkins Agreed! The fact with some characters (like Ferra/Torr in the example here) you see the bullets seemingly travel through the character model makes it seem like you will take a full hit unless you block! It's worth just spending time in the practice mode with a friend online and working out which projectiles can be neutral ducked etc.
I guess with fighting games though they have to standardise the hit boxes across all characters when they are in certain stances so that these moves which can be neutral ducked work when you attempt them with all the available characters regardless of how big they actually are! Maybe we're meant to think the projectile just missed to the side or something?! It's just good to know that all characters can neutral the same projectiles regardless of their character's actual size though I suppose =]
I learned something. I need to not block when trying to crouching at a distance.
+Joshua Alt actually you can neutral crouch any high hitting attack. this includes most projectiles and many basic combos which start with a high.

Thank you for the video! My friend always plays Jacqui and it's so annoying sometimes. I tried to use the same tactics but when I moved forward and crouched, Jacqui started to beat me like a devil. She is a very strong character because of her range attack which pushes you back. I hope she will be fixed soon. Usually I play Ermac (or other characters with teleport) against her.
Just get in mid range and armor through him, this will probably work
One way to solve this is to put the recover time of the macine gun of a upper cut

Mileena's Teli-Kick goes right to them, no need to inch towards them. Then go right into a combo if you're fast enough (I don't know a combo that starts with teli-kick). I've crushed people with 1xx-7 records with this along with inching at times.
It's a difficult task to beat, but the fact that she has very minimal recovery is stupid

I know it's strange but you can play ancestral Kung kin against her as he has full screen air arrows that can reach Jacqui while you are in the air

I'm aware spamming full auto is bad news but I much prefer dealing with full auto spammers than skorpion teleporters.

@@nonfinale685 exactly I play against my brother (he is ninjutsu scorpion I usually main hellfire or raiden) and the teleport is stupidly predictable and in the end he is stuck in the corner or is in a combo
I think there should be a delay (between each trigger of the input) or a reload (after maybe 3 consecutive inputs) on those machine gun shots, kinda like Sonya's demolition variation. Otherwise people just abuse it.

Micah Myers Personally I'd advise just getting a friend / someone you know to play against you as Kung Jin Bojutsu in online practice or set Kung Jin's difficulty up to one of the harder levels in offline / 1P practice and learn all the combos and moves that flow into eachother from that character and then learn how to block those combo strings and moves effectively. If you memorise the moves and combos the players / characters you struggle most against use then you can start to build up muscle-memory for those moments when people start to use the combos / moves you were struggling with and you'll automatically remember that you have to block Low, High, Mid etc when certain moves start coming out =]
I'd say it's pretty important to know the move sets of every character on the roster just as much as knowing your favourite characters to fight with and how to block / negate combos etc against them - that way you're never going to be unprepared for someone who resorts to the same few moves / combos with one character, hoping that you can't work out how to stop them before they win the match =D

TaijutsuJoshua It isn't really the Jacqui players fault, ever. It's the online casual audience that have given the character a bad name by making a big deal about basic zoning that's in every 2D fighting game.
You can always try playing Shotgun, that isn't keepaway heavy and gives jacqui some pretty nasty mixups and combo damage.

TaijutsuJoshua Shotgun is really good. You still get her 50/50 game, on top of more damage due to the shotgun restand/stun. She has to play more of an up close game.
We have a Jacqui player in the UK, although he favors Full Auto, he changes to shotgun if the keepaway isn't giving him as much as he needs to win the set.
Just use a character that can teleport or lift you. Ermac can grab you, scorpion can teleport, and Shinnok can lift you up

Her dash move comes out pretty fast and goes a little further then half screen, be ready to block on reaction.
Also, as a mileena player, could you breakdown the strategy to use against raiden. Up close hes a nightmare. Ex roll wakeup can get stuffed by his special grab.

Spammers are no problem to me. I just use scorpion and jump over the projectile and pro telephort .then put them in a infinite reset beat down 💁
Sub-zeros slide is the perfect move for countering a spamming full auto Jacqui :)
If you armored it then it is just an instant win

The real problem is people using this and then THEY send "scrub ahaha" after winning. Drives off casual players. I definitely have the patience to be the "octopus that opens a sealed bottle", but many people don't sadly (I give you that).

WiseKing People are just impatient, period. The game hasn't even been out one month, its still very fresh. Too early for scrubs to whine about nerfs when its very likely that they just suck at the game.
Not disagreeing, I'm just stating that driving away business is bad for business. You can't regulate behavior, true, but unfortunately whining is all casual fans can do against a superior opponent. There needs to be more inclusion and easily accessible guidance and less elitism among the FGC.
I get it, but here's my beef. The current metagame of MKX favors fast characters with 50/50's (according to a majority of TYM users). So zoning isn't necessarily the strongest archetype.
If enough scrubs whine, Ed Boon and co. might nerf zoning just to appease them. Even though its not so amazing to begin with. The quality of the game gets lowered because a bunch of retards have no patience. They just want to jump in without any interruption and land 200-hit combos with ease.
I don't want people like that influencing the development of a game that I understand on a much deeper level. I also say all of this as a guy who mains Kotal Kahn, a character that loses hard to projectiles. If I can figure it out, so can they.

Deathstroke was over nerfed in Injustice due to players complaining about his zoning, which actually turned out to be extremely average. The same thing will happen here if they nerf it due to mass complaining.
There is a way around it already, there is no need to change it.

Helpful but she just uses the meter burns and mixes the charging upercuts when I get close. Both a nightmare to react to online

Ninjaken Not needed, it doesn't go fullscreen so he can't hurt you from max range. If he uses it up close you get a free full combo punish.
Pick the variation of Shinnok where he is able to teleport, works every time for me

I actually haven't really seen anyone using Jacqui online. I think I've fought maybe 5 or 6 Jacquis in about 500 games.
I just use cyber subs dive kick to get closer than punish them

It's a shame that the people abusing this variation of Jacqui are probably going to get the meter build off it nerfed - which essentially ruins the entire variation. Building that meter off a few shots when you're actually playing properly is a huge part of playing as full auto...

Naamtar Agreed, I know how to use all of Jacqui variants and I actually fight smart with her in Full Auto, mostly because its good against Scorpion tele spammers with no meter Thats the irony of this move, everyone cries about this but give Scorpion and Sub-Zero spam a free pass and this is my only answer to that bs online at least.

Haven't fought a full-auto Jacqui yet, but I have come across a few spamming Errons. I main Takeda' and Ermac, so teleporting makes them a bit easier to deal with. I'm not sure if that works on Jacqui too.
Kenpachii Ramasama Some characters (Piercing, Marksman, maybe Liu Kang) can just launch low projectiles every time she tries to do anything full screen. Heck, some characters can throw projectiles period. Trade won't be in her favour because she doesn't deal a lot of damage and may even be interrupted mid-volley. Unless you're being hit out of startup. It's funny when she's actually outzoned by character who can do so much more up close.

Do you think you could give me some advice for erron black? My friend cheeses his marksman walk back rifle move and his drop kicks, and the guns in gunslinger. Obviously blocking is key, but can you or anyone else offer some advice for possible counters? I use bojutsu style kung Jin if that helps
ScareVixen Block each rifle shot and work your way in between each shot. Drop kick is highly unsafe, so block it and punish.
Basically the exact same situation that you see here, just with different moves.
question: what if a spammer knows your going to jump into them and do the anti shot, how are you know if there going to do it?

Lgaiden Just record Jacqui doing back to back machine guns. get your timing for advancing pin point and it'll be much easier for you.
U can walk towards her n crouch the bullets but spammers can do a overhead if ur near enough still crouching what do u then?

It's the same as trying to punish the zoning character like Kenshi balance but kenshi balance is never easy last time I use Kenshi posses I got punch up over my head I use teleport up into the sky and I was playing amongst my friend he's not a spammer he punish me with uppper cut and doing f 3 2 and db1 2times

Can anybody tell me what "nerf" means? If someone needs to be nerfed does that mean the character needs an upgrade or the opposite?
almaperro A character being nerfed means certain tools or attacks are downgraded in a patch. If they are buffed it means certain tools and attacks are improved.

personally I play high tech and only use full auto against teleporters and projectile spammers. I would never spam this.

I've played about 100 games online now (Im 81/39) and not once have I met a spammer. Or atleast a good one, I've seen a terrible kenshi once
I have better strategy. Get a character that disappear / comes threw screen from behind like scorpion, takeda, shinnok, etc

I grew up playing MK. I like watching pros play. I play all fighting games. One of the MK's was 3D. Best one they made to me.... Show me where my strategy is wrong
+bigblackracoon that's basically what I'm saying. Usually people who spam projectiles are noobs. Rarely find a pro doing that but at the same time. It is rather hard to get to someone playing with jacqui because of the 3 bullets. Can't flip over. U have to inch your way to the opponent, while they build meter. You could get close enough & enhance through it but dang. Chip damage, meter build. Your at a very big disadvantage unless you have a character that has the same amount of projectile speed or a character that has great evasive moves.

I've never lost to a Jacqui online because they are easy to read and beat. You're the scrub who is crying about a character who isn't that hard to beat. If you're struggling to get around Jacqui zoning in a game with a run button and a million teleports in 2018 then I can't help you.

Thats the highest meter gain of any special projectile in the game at the moment. I'm sure it's meter gain will be normalized.

Dealing with keepaway is staple to fighting games that have projectiles in them.
PNDKetchup I know but Im just not patient enough to deal with her. Especially when I get hit by an up rocket or the BF1 move.
Maybe that one Jaqcui spammer I fought was good because they really knew what to do when I got in on them.
Do you know what else to do against up rockets? I pretend that Im going to jump sometimes to trick them into firing an up rocket but it only works 1 or 2 times before the Jacqui knows whats up.
Lil Wang up rockets don't hit you when you're on the ground.
If she shoots randomly into the air because she's scared of jumps, wiff punish her on recovery.
I win by doing this tactic with my Jacqui, haha people are sending me rage messages on Xbox saying I am lame, need to kill myself or learn how to play.

I'm a Jacqui player who doesn't spam at all. I don't want my character nerfed guys.
If you are getting hit its because you were impatient and that's it. There's no trick, no sneaky method, just patiently advanced.
If you say she's like Deathstroke then you are so wrong. Remember Deathstroke had that sword flip to make you afraid up close. In actuality she's more like Raven. Good zoning tools, but once you're in....YOU'RE IN. Jacqui's close range game is the worst in MKX. Her startup frames on normal is terrible and I have to work with them.
Guys, learn to be patient. Follow the steps in this video and you will be fine. Jacqui is below midtier and her zoning tools in Full Auto are good not unbeatable.
Jacqui my main to I love shotgun, it has the best for combos but I use full auto so if someone spam I can fight back like fan girl or Kano or any one who can shoot
