The problem with a lot of people is that they judge Abby for the way she dresses, instead of admiring her for being such an amazing, smart female character.
@@811chelseafc I think she has a perfectly normal and well establised character. I mean I think one the best parts of her charater are in fact that her style contradicts her personality. But she is still a proper character who is fun, has a great personality and one of the best characters in all chrime series.
András Kovács my point is she strikes me as a character not a human being. The best characters make you forget that they are in a TV show. You never can with her.
Considering Abby got excited when someone threatened to tie her up? I don't think Gibbs' threat to smack her "not on the head" had the intended effect! LOL
@steztoyz LOL as long as you're curious about the goth culture and music you are a goth lol! No clinical depression and/or eternal hatred of the world necessary 😅
I remember watching this show every time I got my hair done by my older sister or mom and they would put this one. She was always make me laugh each time I saw her come up XD
I am now watching NCIS on Netflix for the second time. It is easier to see the jokes and hear t e one liners. I develop an emotional bond with many of the characters but my care for ABBY is the most persistent.. Her personality is captivating. In the first season Tim and Abby share her coffin built for two. I would have said, instead of Tim's shocked "It was a coffin" , "I don't care what you call it so long as you are there." ABBY is a keeper!
NCIS is my favourite TV show, because every time I watch it, it reminds me of the "Join the Navy" message and all that jazz. Within the TV series, Abby Sciuto is my personal favourite, because she's beautiful, smart and she appears to be younger with the ponytails on her beautiful hair, but let's cut to the chase already. In the TV show (I mean, NCIS) Abby is 25 (or more), but she looks like a 16-year-old babe, or at least she appears to be my age (I mean, 18) with those ponytails. And in one of the episodes, Abby has a nervous breakdown or something, but she's also funny, despite that fact. Abby likes goth style, I know, and she also dances terky trap (or whatever the heck the dubstep name is). But, deep down inside my heart, I like Abby Sciuto, because we both love loud music and goth style. I noticed that Abby has at least nine tattoos or something, m'kay. One of the nine tattoos is a spider web (in Abby's neck, of course). Seriously, I think Abby's got a gift, and she's kind of cute. Without her, things won't be the same. I said. LOL 69
She has far and away gone through the biggest transformation from when they piloted the show on JAG. Actually Tony was right behind her and Gibbs of course was pretty much the same!
Never watched the show. Didn't even know what show it was. But every time I see a clip I think "Who is that girl." Finally googled "crime show pigtails girl" and now I know.
I forget which season but there was a scene like: Abby to Gibbs: Thank you sir. Gibbs to Abby: Don’t call me sir. Abby to Gibbs: Thank you ma’am. Gibbs: 😏😂
People ask me who my favorite character is but... I can't choose I love all of them honestly I like the older shows of ncis better then the newer ones I like all of the older ones!!!!
Hi Alexa. Thank you so much. I used to see bits of NCIS when flicking through the channels. I was kind of put off it, thinking it was just another US Authorities show, and visually, I found Abby difficult to accept. A tattooed "goth" (she always denies that label, hence the quotes) as a Forensic Specialist?? I got drawn into NCIS when I realised how good NCIS was as a whole (writing, acting, directing, emotional balance, photography). But my respect for the Abby character grew quite quickly. When she is in Forensic Specialist mode (kudos to Pauley Perrette's acting range), Abby exudes level-headed competence, but is not an automaton. Viewed out of context, Abby's comical moments could be misconstrued. Yet another goofball in an otherwise serious drama series? Not a bit. (I do find the Jimmy Palmer twit moments difficult to stomach.) And her visual presentation is a complete package. Not like the Twat In The Hat from "Scorpion" with his Gimmick Headgear. Take it off you turd! I have bookmarked your montage. It is slick, and your choices of scene are, IMO, excellent. Thanks again for putting in so much effort. Viewing it is a real tonic.
Issues with Mark Harmon on set. Apparently he has anger issues, and he insists on bringing his dog with him on set even after it bit someone. She claimed she felt unsafe around him. I also think she said she was just kinda done with the whole acting gig so she bounced when she had the chance.
Mark's dog left someone needing 15 stitches and she asked for him not to bring it anymore and he refused whether there was issues before the incident I don't know. As for assaults, there's no evidence for or against it. I do however have reason to believe someone (Not necessarily Mark at all) held her character of Abby back.
SE5E12: Stakeout, I had the same question and I remembered seeing this bit, so I rewatched on Netflix til I found it. Another funny bit was Abby and McGee talking about Gibbs winning every fight he has, in SE6E10 Road Kill
The concept behind her is a bit iffy. It's pretty obvious that they were trying to categorize her as a Goth but Goth is a music-based scene and a term also used to describe fans of the music. Abby was seen mostly listening to industrial music and long story short, Industrial music is not Goth, both are different scenes so really, Abby was really a "Rivethead" (Fan of Industrial music, another dark alternative music subculture that was associated with Industrial music).
Alright seriously- why is she dressed like a 16-year-old girl that just walked out of Hot Topic in 1996? It's just sad they dressed this character, who is approaching menopause, like a store-bought goth wannabe from another decade.
No, what's really sad is that a lot of us actually love the way Abby dresses, it doesn't hurt anyone, and yet there are still people like *you* who feel the need to make unfunny, cliched, and vaguely misogynistic "jokes" about it. Seriously, just stop. There is nothing wrong with the way she dresses.
@Stephen's Site HOW did I say anything remotely "misogynistic"?? It's people like YOU that have to say something is misogynistic, racist, homophobic etc. in this day and age about everything. Look - her character is just silly - an old lady dressing like a mallrat in lame "goth" gear?? Sorry but THAT is just pathetic and if anyone finds her appealing then that's just sad.
Abby is the worse. She's such a ridiculous character. She looks older than the character she's portraying. Old gal dressing like a emo/goth.... As if that would be cool in some way. #1 bs

Abby's character was somewhat realistic. There are older people who dress alternative and to be specific, her style was actually rooted in Industrial (Rivethead to be specific, not really Goth and especially not Emo). Yeah her character may have been a little too quirky with some of her mannerisms but there are people like her out there and they most likely wanted to have a character who was more of the carefree and optimistic side (and probably to attract some younger viewers). Personally as an alternative person myself, I'm glad Abby exists because at the time this show was out, there weren't many positive representations of Alternative people out there and she helped break the usual stereotypes associated with darkly-inclined people (being moody, cynical, and deadpan).
@@KaiDecadence I can understand and respect that. Definitely understand why you would like Abby. I also understand the reason the show has her. My favorite conversation between Abby and Gibbs is in season 3.

Gibbs: True
