- This video is for Black women who have been harmed in toxic environments and singled out, and who are trying to heal and understand what happened. Nothing is wrong with you. It is a tactic of oppressors to single out people who shine brightly and challenge the status quo. Place the blame on the people who harmed you. You are wonderful and brilliant. ✨

Some Black women cause harm to other Black women because of envy and jealousy. We have to be mindful of that as well.
Exactly!
They dont want us to shine.
They DON'T 💯🎯👏🏽
Because their shines are not genuine, and many have the whole world believing that everything outside of the colonizers are at the top of the class. Only by manipulation.
Because their shine is not genuine but fostered.
That part.
And when it happens at a workplace where they look like YOU! smh
My Story My Story
Girrrrrllll. Don't get me started.
@@beverleyreid563 When I tell you the memtal horror that brings smh And how people just can't believe what's really going on smh It's a lot!
Even other BW at my job are threatened by me. I’m a systems engineer and the amount of dirty looks, attitude and negative feedback I get from management triggers my anxiety and depression.
Oppression is not logical! Abusers follow the same playbook. From pet to threat. Whew…..
We are working to make them rich and are harmed doing that. Crazy. I am now doing just the mininum not more.
THIS!! I love this so much 🤎👏🏽
I am perfect. I didnt do anything wrong.
YESS!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯
I really appreciate you keeping your foot on the neck of this topic. I look almost IDENTICAL to you and I experience the exact same shit as a top performer in my career. It’s so tiring as I go to different companies the same thing keeps happening and I thought it was me. This current job started getting my mind all screwed up bc my manager is targeting me so hard after using me as a golden example for the first few months. It burned down my confidence and mental health but I’m on the road to recovery thanks to videos like yours showing me the truth. Keep doing what you do. It’s so needed and appreciated. Thank you!
Marissa, thank you!
Thank you to you, Anne Marie the Anti-HR HR Lady, Dr Kamani and Stephanie Perry for speaking out about toxicity in the workplace. Raising awareness makes me, a Black woman and other Black women realise that we are not the problem.
😢😢😢 Sometimes I have a hard time believing that I don't deserve it. I'm often missing something, showing up late (time blindness among other things), doing something wrong, or making a careless mistake. Thanks for the validation.
These are very important questions to ponder, asking them makes people uncomfortable because no one wants to face the answers. I am so grateful that you, and creators like Alecia, are willing to ask these questions.
Thank you 🤎🙏🏽 I so agree. YESS!! Shout out to Alecia 🙌🏽👏🏽🤎
Thank you. You are so right! I had a target for 30 years. About to retire and it's taken young women like you and Aleecia to help me get it together. Thank you!😊
You're so welcome!! 🤎 I'm wishing you rest and joy in retirement 🙌🏽🤎 YESS, shout out to Alecia! 👏🏽✨️

My goodness, I'm going through this right now! Thank-you for this word
I hope this wake up call does one thing. Some of you have been willing to throw your brotha and sista under the bus to find favor with your employer. So let this be a lesson to you. No one will have your back like your own. In today's economic climate, rewards are short lived and employers will come and go. You are not the only talent out here and you are far from the only capable party who can do what you do. Relationships matter, but be careful who you choose to build them with. Few of us will retire in these companies. Few of us will be promoted in these companies. But your loyalty should always be with your own. Don't sell out while trying to break the glass ceiling. It doesn't have to be crabs in the barrel--and certainly shouldn't be with sistas and brothas. Unity is essential. We achieve more and go farther when we work together.
Unstoppable! Taking that with me, Marissa! Thank you for reminding us not to internalize the weight of oppression others place on us. 💜
God bless you, Marissa. ❤
I really needed this, thank you Marissa👍🏽👏🏽💕

Chills....
I don’t even follow you and this video popped up on recommended videos😭shoutout to my ancestors for this.I just got fired last week Friday after only being in the role for 3weeks and I had complained about my Supervisor a non Black straight man who was very rude to me and he was very frustrated with training me because he was understaffed.I had called out on Friday because I didn’t have mental capacity to show up and it was unpaid too and they fired me that same day.I dealt with microagressions and implicit biases as the only Black woman in the space and the Supervisor left me alone to figure shit out and he would go to lunch not even communicate with me and he said the reason for firing me was that I wasn’t “a good fit and that I wasn’t taking initiative “what?I was asking him questions about products and he was rude like I should already know the information when I was never trained on it.I was on time and did ALL my work to the best of my abilities and still this man knew he had the power to make an example of me and he fired me.I don’t know what to do but I’ve been wrongfully terminated.
You're freckles are the "bomb". Embrace them. Do you ever wonder if the "abusers", "perpetrators", "oppressors" ever watch these informative sessions? Probably not, too busy targeting others. smh
🫠 thank you.
This was moving a beautiful. I sent it to my favorite CZcams @alecia renece the artist I hope she sees it
