I came to say exactly this. 🥶 TDWP still gives me chills on their breakdowns. The way Mike hits his lows is like no other man could rip you in half with his voice.
I was patient. I only listened to Watchtower and Sacrifice (even got to see Sacrifice live 😊) and phew boys the wait was worth it!! This album is golden. An album of TDWPs has never disappointed me, I own every single one of them! The throne of metalcore has been yours for as long as you've existed 🤘
100% agree. No metal core band has lasted this long. And succeeded in every way. No hurtful words but looking at silverstein their new music has a new sound. Tdwp changed it up but they still bring it while sticking to their roots. Excellent band. Fantastic discography. My favorite band hands down. They kill it.
@@buriedyoux7393 I'm already on my 6th listen, this album is SOOOO good!!!! The genre while different gives me an MCR / The Black Parade vibe. You can tell this whole album is a story and a lot of love and care was put into it. They're my favorite metalcore band as well. This is the sound I wish ADTR would have adapted into but they went too pop/mainstream 😓

I think this is the best metalcore album of all time. I will legitimately go to war over that. This is the culmination of decades of progress.
tall claim i agree that tdwp are legends in the field of metalcore especially everything after wraabb but alot of other albums are much much more up for grabs when it comes to best metalcore album like controller by misery signals or attack of the wolf king by haste the day.
This sounds nothing like their older stuff. I prefer the harder stuff from their first three albums.

In my opinion there best was Zombie EP it really displays how much talent they have had from the very beginning and carries a story like no other metal album I have ever heard.

Getting Giuseppe Capolupo as the new drummer in 2019 was an amazing decision for TDWP, he brings such a heavy sound while supporting the rhythm of every song properly, an incredible demonstration of talent and control, this first song shows it 🤘

My favorite tdwp album ever
After this long of never disappointing I can confidently tattoo the TDWP logo on my body and know that I'll never have to hate myself for that decision..like I would have if I were to get.. idk.. ink for BMTH or some band who has "matured" similarly.
Even if a band changes to something you don't enjoy, you can still justify having the tattoo because of the impact the band had on your life at the time!

Honestly this is a slightly more aggressive version of the act which I’m not overly impressed with. I get they want to be more atmospheric, melodic, and experimental. But their heaviness is lost with it. There are maybe a handful of times on the album like the breakdown on this song where traces are there, but overall the album is just not them imo. Older and lineup changes could be it but Zombie EP 2 was them on true form again.
also tbh i love that the band isn't allowed to change their direction, create and play something different just because "that's not them".
While I wish it was a bit heavier, I think it’s their best full length record since at least 8:18. Some of the choruses are a little poppy for my taste but I think it’s really good overall. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they do another Zombie or Space type heavier EP.
