I really hate fireworks. Just keep your pets home. These people were so lucky to get this beautiful dog back thanks to this man.
Agree 100%.....I dread July 4 th every year...My neighborhood is like a war zone......Some people never grow up
I absolutely hate them as well! What's especially sad though, is when you ARE home and your pets are horses. One lady I know of has to sedate them because even though she puts them in their barn, they injure themselves trying to flee.
Every year right before the 4th of July, authorities, news, experts keep reminding the public to KEEP dogs in a quiet, safe place at HOME. This dog was lucky by being found by the kind people.
lydiaboyce exactly!
Who doesn't know about 4th of July and fireworks and dogs? The owner's action seems stupid and dangerous to me
Wow. What judgey, snippy, little souls. So glad to know that such perfect people exist, ones who have never made a mistake, have always followed the rules, lived a blameless life. Well, except for that whole judgey snippy thing. Hope you are never met with the attitude and energy you are giving out here.
@@KKieser Its called common sense, and having a clue. Would you take your child to an event that you know beforehand would torture and freak her out? This couple clearly is too self-involved to be given the responsibility of caring for a dependent. Maybe they can handle a stuffed animal, and bring it with them to all of their torturous events.
@@KKieserour "judgey" comments are completely warranted... what are you talking about? As another commenter said, this is due to a lack of common sense and being oblivious to their pet's needs. For a month before July 4th and the weeks and days leading to it, the news, the internet, vets, animal welfare organizations kept warning people about pets and fireworks. This was especially for dogs, since they have such sensitive hearing and they tend to bolt. These numb nuts take their puppy to the actual fireworks event, and they were surprised it bolted? If people are that ignorant of the needs and safety of their pet, they shouldn't have one.
BTW- We're still getting reports of people leaving their pets in hot cars, in the middle of summer. Some are rescued, but some unfortunately die. You bet I'm going to be judgey (and angry) about that.
Roger Dunn is awesome for saving this sweet puppy. Leave dogs at home during fireworks!
Taking a dog to a fireworks display is sheer stupidity. Thank God for Roger Dunn!
exactly
I’ve never been a fan of fireworks but I now hate them because of my dog. Please keep your dogs inside during these times to make sure they are safe.
glad the newscaster said “weve all been warned to secure our pets but this couple didnt listen” …Theyre too old for this kind of ignorance.
Keep dogs at home
In the house... I found one that escaped their backyard due to fireworks... Found the owner...
They had their dog outside at a fireworks display? And then weren’t even holding the leash when the display started?
Fr. Was it their first year with the dog? How do you not know that it would react like that to fireworks unless they’ve never experienced a 4th with that dog
@@imanoldurango8213 I think she is only a puppy...
Idiots. They shouldn't be given the privilege of caring for a dog....
@@imanoldurango8213Common sense is how you'd know.
Stupid and naive to take an eight month old dog to a fireworks display. Every year the advice given by the experts is to be aware that fireworks can distress and frighten animals. They were lucky their dog was found and was able to be returned to them. 😢
What a great bunch of people. Fireworks suck
Roger has always been a hero to everyone that knows him!
We go through this every year! What part of animals being terrified by fireworks don't these people get. Why would you take your dog to the fireworks?
Dogs are smarter than people about fireworks.
OMG ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Needed this. Leilani on an island. MAHALO!!!
A very nice happy ending story for once.
thanks Denise ❤
thanks Roger ❤
For rescuing Lelani
A leash could have prevented the whole ordeal. Dogs, of all pets must stay at home. Their hearing is ultra sensitive and the fireworks TORTURES them.
Mr. Dunn said she had a leash on her when he found her so I think she just ran so fast the owner lost her grip on it.
incredible story! thank goodness she’s ok. Thank you to the kind man.
Don’t even take chances with your pets even a few days before any holidays that should have fireworks. Keep them indoors. My dog can hear those fireworks even when we cannot, when they are far away and he just turns around and wants to run right back in the house. You’ve got to be careful and hold your dogs tight and be careful for anything.
Thank you, Roger!
Jesus ty for using Roger to find this precious doggie!
Thank You Lord 🙏💙
Pets need a safe haven during fireworks. Please keep them home in a quiet room.
Best story of the day!❤
Thank you hero man!! Roger Dunn, you are a good man!!
Thank God for Roger's kind heart and eagle eyes!
God sends angels...
This is why i hate 4th of July 😩😓
Great! Thankyou!
Roger is a hero! Great eye AND a huge heart. The fireworks were horrible near me. New venue- new permit. Felt like war, and three devastated dogs. LOVE LELANI and this story!🎉😽🐾
Thank you Roger. May God bless you 🙏
Aww! What a beautiful story!!!
awesome
Hooray! ❤❤❤
Good man ❤
Thank you Roger🙏. Beautiful baby!❤❤❤
How beautiful
2:58 I hope I’m not being intrusive but I hope he’s had the lesion on his arm checked out…
To be fair, who shows up at a fireworks display with a dog? Do they not understand that dogs REALLY don’t like fireworks.
Sadists... and, they actually didn't seem all that upset that their dog might be "lost, dead forever', or whatever they said... :/ He should be re-homed.
What a sweet dog and such a kind gentleman to bring to bring her home❤
Your a good man!
I found a Sheltie that ran away on the 4th. We got him home to his family..
Oh my heart ❤❤
Thank goodness for this wonderful man. So happy she is back home with her family 🥰
For the duration of my shepherd's life I never left home on July 4th because he suffered terribly and I wouldn't leave his side. Bringing him out in that NEVER happened.
Good for you Mr Dunn - thanks!
I hate fireworks too.
My hero!
I was lucky. My lab would sit and watch them. I’m so glad she was found!
Our lab wasn't afraid of them, because when she was a pup, I'd take her outside and play with her during them.
We dog sit for our son's dog that is terrified of them and he convinced elderly pup that she should be too!!!
What a great ending for all!❤
Very nice story
So happy for them all😊
What a great ending to what was a horrible story. Always keep your pets on leashes especially during fireworks. I absolutely hate fireworks! They suck. Dogs are terrified of them and many go missing and are never reunited with their owners. Thank you to this man for helping them to be reunited. He is a true hero.
I'd say keep the owners on a leash so that they can't have the freedom to be stupid and selfish enough to bring a dog to such an event. Why are so many humans so callous about others?
Thank you KPIX great STORY and Happy ending!! Glad the owners chipped their puppy and smart & nice man!!
What a great man.
that dog is so cute! i want to hug her.
Lesson learned..do not take your dog to a firework display (Ever) I'm yet to see a dog that enjoys them!
Also I don't light fireworks anymore because I care about the neighborhood dogs.
Awe❤❤❤❤
None of my dogs were afraid of fireworks because we are apparently too loud
I’m so over fireworks for so many reasons: animals, veterans, literally burning up money that could be used for much better.
Did I hear that right ... they were outside with their poor dog during fireworks ?!
Seriously, YOU DON'T take your dog to watch fireworks.
How could these 'owners' be so obtuse? If they think that taking a dog to a fireworks show is OK, they likely are not smart or competent enough to have a dog at all. Maybe re-home to her rescuer!!!
❤
How many times do people need to be told to keep pets indoors during fireworks. Lucky he was found. Irresponsible pet owners.
Its all on the dog owners not the dog.
Hope owners get their dog microchipped, doesn't sound like she was. And no more fireworks!
I can't stand fireworks, they terrify animals. It drives me crazy to hear them, and I worry about every animal within earshot. One can never underestimate the fear of any animal to thunder, lightning, armory, and fireworks.
How stupid was that...keep your dogs inside
People are warned every single year to leave their dogs at home and why don’t people listen and how do we get people educated on this? When I was young fireworks were illegal except for public displays like this and people were told to keep their dogs home. Nowadays, there are fireworks everywhere and you can’t even be safe in your own home.
People are self-involved, and don't care about their pets. People this selfish should never have dependents in their care.
I hate fireworks 😮
How many times do people have to be told to NOT to subject their pets to fireworks.
My Shih is not bothered by thunder, fireworks, sirens even a vacuum cleaning roaring beside her. Do no know why.
Some dogs just have that dawg in them. Jk just got a confident dog that doesn’t scare easy
Thankfully fireworks usage is drastically declining where I live.
She bolted?? Like she was on a leash and pulled out of their hands or they just had her standing next to them?? Lack of details means the owners are semi responsible for being stupid. I would have explained the leash was pulled away from me. What they dont say usually ends up speaking volumes. Glad the dog was returned but this owner was careless.
Mr. Dunn said she had a leash on her when he found her so I think she just ran so fast the owner lost her grip on it.
@@eacomedy I will give them the benefit of the doubt but I've seen plenty owners who let their dogs stand around with loose leashes. Glad the outcome wasn't a tragic one
🙏🇺🇸
I have 2 indoor cats but even at home if neighbors get the loud fireworks they dont like them and it scares them
Wish I had a dog as well but unable to have one at this time but I do know I would never take mine to a fireworkd celebration or show because I know for the most part these type things terrify pets and things could happen to them. I value my pets like children and care for them the same.
Happy ending. Not all dogs are spooked by fireworks, but those that are really don't like them.
Yeah the smart thing would be to leave your dog at home on the 4th
Leilani probably would rather be with Roger ! ❤
Leilani needs a dog licence and a chip.
and a airtag
And some better parents.
👍👍👍👍👍
How clueless do you have to be to take a dog outside to watch fireworks? 🙄 Here in Los Angeles it's so bad that all the neighbors have professional grade fireworks. My roommate's dog would hide inthe closet fir days. We ended up putting a doggie tent in the closet with bedding for her & then dragged a bed mattress to the closet and alternate nights sleeping next to her in the closet on the floor
I too hate fireworks, not for them because of the jerks who over do it every time, knowing it freaks out some people and most dogs and simply don't give a damn.
1 year I found an extra god in my backyard July 5th! Was a 17 year old dog the belonged to a neighbor, blocks away.
Why do people bring their dogs out on the 4th? I don’t get it. If they hadn’t got him back it would have been their own fault!
Has she ever heard of a leash? She should've known that her dog isnt good witb fireworks
Hard to feel bad for the owners when this is completely preventable. They're lucky they got their poodle mutt back.
I don't feel bad for these owners in any way. They don't seem that they are capable of caring for a dog. Please re-home to someone more conscious and less selfish.
They took their dog to the fireworks? Are they nuts?
Who brings their dog to fireworks? Poor dog with dumb owners. Dogs are not accessories, like a handbag. Most dogs are scared of thunderstorms, nevermind super loud explosions! Maybe they don't need a dog. Lucky puppy was found by the nice man.
Who takes their dog to fireworks???????????????????????????????????
Common sense people, whatever happened to reading a book before getting a dog? SMH.
Perhaps they don't have the 'time' to bother to read about dog care, or the 'time' to look for their dog after she runs off in panic, following a terrifying event for dogs.. :/ These people should not have a dog or cat in their care.
Why bring your dog to fireworks
Fireworks are a waste of money and a danger to humans and animals. They should be banned.
Totally. They're gross. They celebrate wars and the sounds of violence/weapons/klling. And, this is what people find "beautiful".... ? :/ Our country is so crazy....
I am sorry, but these owners are plain stupid. How did they not think that the fireworks would scare their dog? For years we see how pets are terrified by fireworks during the 4th of July, yet these people didn't think that an animal whose extremely sensitive hearing would be affected? It seems like they weren't holding her by the leash when the fireworks were going off, but if they were, they were not hanging on tight. Keep the pets AT HOME!
I hate when I see people bring their dogs to loud environments, like live amplified music or firework displays. It hurts their ears people! You can see that the animal is terrified and trying to cower or leave the area, but the pet parent is oblivious to their pet's behavior. People like this don't deserve pets.
I believe that God moves people to go somewhere to find someone that they didn't think they would find, the Holy Spirit leads, guides and directs our path, even if we do NOT believe in Him because He CREATED us.
So tired of hearing these stories which should never have happened
Leave your pets home!!!!! Use your brain!!!!
Come on... New pet... You don't take them to a firework festivities. That's common sense. Most animals don't like that especially up close. Sorry but the owners are not very clever and I won't say more because I might be very mean
I dislike fireworks. Think about birds and other wild animals which suddenly experience this idiotic noise and light. 😡
Most useless dog owners ever. Taking dogs to fireworks is enough reason to show you shouldn't have one.
They didn't even really seem to do much about finding her either. Dog looked more content with the rescuer.
Apparently you missed the part about them searching for the dog for 2 days.
@@Pirategirl4nightwish They looked for her for that night and the day after, and then, basically washed their hands of her, considered her dead... ("Oh well!"...) The woman owner seems more ecstatic about how many "Likes" she got on social media, than the fact that this poor puppy- her puppy - was rescued.
@@Pirategirl4nightwish their search involved hardly anything.
I guess these 2 dog owners didnt bother to educate themselves about pets & fireworks. 😮
Glad the pup was found, but hope they smarten up next year.🤞
