A lot of people in the comments don't understand the point of this video: After getting several kills and a stun only to have the host rage quit thus resetting the match and I lost all progress. I'm implying that people will tire of losing their hard earned progress and just stop playing this game altogether. I play on the ps4 and on most days there are about 500 players online worldwide. That's pretty close to dead considering when I enter a match there's anywhere between 3-8 players in the room.
I don't think the player you stunned and killed right before the match was reset was the host of the game, he had a bad connection to the lobby to begin with. It could have been any player with the better connections on either team, because I don't see why the person hosting the game would have a bad ping

Yep, It's exactly why I stopped playing. In general, there was always connectivity issues. Then people would quit and the game would crash anyway. Konami really blew it with this franchise in the end.
This online game is dead but I'm still playing san andreas multiplayer lmaooo Joking aside, I think this was a waste of opportunity. I really like mgs, it's one of my favorite games, and I really like playing mgsv it's got a rare set of animations that I really like. Makes you immersed and make you feel like a badass protagonist. Also not alot of 3rd person games allow you to go prone. I think it's a really well done game and I'm not yet even talking about the story. But idk why this game multiplayer is basically nonexistent. Tbh I didnt even know they had multiplayer until now. I thought it was just raiding FOBs and stuff. I think they need to change some stuff up. Make gamemodes or make the servers more stable or something.
Here's what I'm saying. Players who still play this game after completing the game decide to play MGO. I'm technically new, but most of the players that play this game are well experienced. Here's the issue. These hosts that are Ranked C and up host lobby's with titles such as "Rookies Welcome, CQC Only, Knife Only" and throughout the game that same host goes around shooting everyone when they only have a knife. I'm talking about this because this didn't happen once or twice, but four times this has happened. MGO has a limited amount of players now. So little that I played with someone from England, which hasn't happened since GTA V. (Usually in GTAV you'd run into anyone from anywhere that's not to say the game is shit but it has its moments) With limited players and very few Rookie Players to face up against in equal level, it forces new players to git gud quickly. The only problem with this is they get killed a lot and it's hard to level up when you can't contribute.
I don't get it, did the host rage quit because you nailed him when he was cloaked? I'd be yelling "bullshit!" at the screen myself, but fuck that's fickle to rage quit over. First rule of cloaking: You are not completely invisible, we've known this since MGS1.
Whether it's quitting or just an unstable connection, things like this is unacceptable. Playing an almost full match, only for connection problems to nullify any and all gains, isn't good for a game with progression tied to doing matches. If it was dedicated server, you wouldn't rely on a player's connection, which could be insufficient for hosting, or sabotaged.
Save for long distance, it disguises your target silhouette. What makes it good is when you have the sky as a back drop. When people look over a large, wide, detailed environment, they start searching in different ways. If they are meticulous and careful they can still miss you but they are looking for a human shaped object or things they may hold or uniforms or something that appears missing. The sky always changing provides you with the ability to hide as its exact shape is hard to pinpoint and see if something is out of place from every angle. And when someone is searching quickly or spot searching common locations, they are looking for a silhouette. And they cannot see yours with the camo. This gives you the peeking advantage and the overall securing of the elevation advantage along with the ability to shoot first.
Never Could Get into MGO3 ... Funny cause I absolutely loved MGO1 and MGO2 to death. It just lacked in all regards. MGO2 was so much better, you could do all sorts of cool things, including instructor mode and it nailed that crasy mix between MGS goofyness, great controls and quality gameplay and maps...
When i first started i sucked 0 to 2 kills and 14 times dead , now im doing better its just a matter of learning to use locations and equipment and for me having fun.
I play on PC and it’s pretty much dead already. Most days I can’t find a single match, even. Have you any idea how hard it is to NOT find a match for a PC game? I can still probably find a match for any of the Battlefield games (even the first one), the first Quake, or the first Doom. Not even counting Counter Strike 1.6 and Source because those still have tens of thousands of concurrent players at any given time.
The lag is absurd, the non lethal equipment is horrible to deal agaisnt, sometimes the double tap you and you die, invisibility is op as heck. Yet I still going there just to headshot a invisi guy once in a while
Game got a get out of limbo free card when it was free on Xbox Live Gold. Loooots of reckless new players. And truly talented new blood. Had 3+ pages of full games at one point.
Necromancing an old post but hey... Brother you aint lying. Me and this game go way back. The canceling of the online service was heartbreaking, especially because I wasnt able to play the last days. I was pumped when V came out, though online didn't capture the same intensity or head shot pistol kills all the same. Oh well, c'est la vie.
For me, it's dead also because of ps fucking plus. I played mgo2 for free back on ps3 and now i have to pay for something that i already own and pay my internet for
embarrassed to say mgsv was the first one I played in the series from start to finish. I still have snake eater on my ps3 so I'll need to play it once I get a new controller. Just a shame that I never got to experience mgo when it was booming, this state of it in 2021 is depressing.
If connection was perfect/better and we had less bs stuff like scout spotting you with nvg even though you had litteral camo (not the invisible device) scout instant killing with the marksman rifle, enforcers shield, enforcers explosive/spotting perks , infiltraters camo was ok but it ruined it for noobs, box sliding, plushies
Oh you thought it was bad on ps4? Have you ever been stunned on PC? This game was not properly designed for PC gameplay because waking up is a bullshit buttonmash that will break you goddamned fingers. You can't fan the keyboard like you do with a controller so the standards of rotation is ridiculous. This naturally would attract external options such as programmable keyboards or programs that lets you bind shortcuts for certain keyboard actions. So basically when you stun your enemy they either have half of a second until they wake up or they lay there for a long time.
I got the game through game pass a week ago and I decided to try out online yesterday. The game consists on dodging gas grenades, stun darts and people trying to tackle you with active camo, nothing else. It's pretty sad considering how promising and fun the game can actually be
@@nobudgetproductions9987 totally, singleplayer is a whole other experience. Just wish they did something different for the multiplayer rather than this
MGO 1 & 2 had an amazing amount of cosmetic content. MGO 3's cosmetic content was well, lacklustre at best. I believe along with other people that what was held back from MGO 3 was used in Metal Gear Survive. They took it and used it for their spin-off zombie trash survival game.
Kratos1902 well thanks to steam sale and no ps plus requirement, there are alway new guys, not just the same people over and over, that would of been boring :/
Well, its better than the standard PUBG / COD Shit we have right now. Instead, people rather play broken Early Access Games. MGO might not be the most innovative Multiplayer ever, but its definitly better than my mentionings. TL:DR: Videogame Players are stupid.
Indeed. Was immediately underwhelmed when I first played MGO3. It's truly sad. The first to grace the PC platform and it's so vastly inferior. None of the fun game modes the other two had, no hide and seek, no CQC mode, a lot of customization locked and very little options. MGO2 had just so much more to offer. They should have sticked with that and improved that over the years instead of dropping it and releasing MGS5 / MGO3.
That's debatable. Maybe game mechanics wise, but the open world was like most other open world games - Barren and without much to do. There was also too much mission recycling and the game fell short in every other way. Weak story-telling, very "un-MGS" feeling story and Quiet is just not that likeable. I found Metal Gear Solid 1 and 3 both way more thrilling, even 4 wasn't this bad. If only they had brought the series earlier to PC...
I still playing MGO3 but it piss me off when they quit when you Fulton /wormhole them and rejoin the match it like what the hell what the point quitting when someone Fulton you then come back in and they Fulton you

or an average game you can beat with a not so laggy PVE online.
No, it honestly isn’t.
MGSurvive had the decency to be standalone and not tied to a sort of good game like a tumour.
Damn, I found it pretty entertaining not understanding the title. Then, the ending. I actually called out at the video, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
We used to make LFG's on xbox and take turns sneaking into the opponents base, acting on patrols and reporting unusual things. Good ol times
I miss MGO2. That shit lasted forever even with the extreme horseshit that was the Stun Knife.
Well the killswitch and the ridiculous difference on damage between headshots and normal shots made the game also weird.... I cant stop remembering certain dumb gunfights with people exploiting the box just to make harder to receive a headshot....
It's not dead but the fan base is small. To be honest i don't know if it can be saved but a good start to saving would be an over haul a new trailer and more gear and uniques.
Geiji Enduro people does not want to waste their money on ps plus. End of story.
And they shouldn't have to -_-
I play on PC, we have a small community but it's very active. Joining in is tricky but once you get experienced, everybody will know your name.
Hello there i want to join ur community, i hate been trolled by hackers and quiters
Geiji Enduro Konami wouldn't do that.
I just got this game a month ago and it's pretty depressing knowing there's only like 2-3 people in a match only after a few hours do more people join also someone pls make montages again they are comedy gold
There are always plenty of people on when I get on there and no wait time for matches.
Subsistence was and will always be the best. Such a great experience. Can’t remember having as much fun as I did with MGO Original. Socom 3 was fun too... well aside from the hacking.
I have the Original disk of Socom 3 here and I can say I relate to this comment.
Yep, It's exactly why I stopped playing. In general, there was always connectivity issues. Then people would quit and the game would crash anyway. Konami really blew it with this franchise in the end.
Ahhh. Now I feel your pain brother.
Stealth is a vital part of metal gear online
This online game is dead but I'm still playing san andreas multiplayer lmaooo
Joking aside, I think this was a waste of opportunity.
Make gamemodes or make the servers more stable or something.
mgo vs samp
Greed vs fun
Here's what I'm saying. Players who still play this game after completing the game decide to play MGO. I'm technically new, but most of the players that play this game are well experienced.
Here's the issue. These hosts that are Ranked C and up host lobby's with titles such as "Rookies Welcome, CQC Only, Knife Only" and throughout the game that same host goes around shooting everyone when they only have a knife. I'm talking about this because this didn't happen once or twice, but four times this has happened.
MGO has a limited amount of players now. So little that I played with someone from England, which hasn't happened since GTA V. (Usually in GTAV you'd run into anyone from anywhere that's not to say the game is shit but it has its moments)
With limited players and very few Rookie Players to face up against in equal level, it forces new players to git gud quickly. The only problem with this is they get killed a lot and it's hard to level up when you can't contribute.
to be fair thats a damn funny way to troll people LMAO
They should just do the lobby system based off of level.
Ethan Orozco
To make it balanced
Hey dude , u still playing .
I don't get it, did the host rage quit because you nailed him when he was cloaked?
I'd be yelling "bullshit!" at the screen myself, but fuck that's fickle to rage quit over. First rule of cloaking: You are not completely invisible, we've known this since MGS1.
implying these fucking spurgs ever played anything as classic as mgs1 or as good as classic spies vs mercs
Honestly cloaking in MGO rarely makes a difference. To me people who cloak aren't that much harder to spot than people who aren't. It's just obvious
Dead Juice I have to agree with you, the game isn't going to cloak you completely. That would be an unfair advantage!
Spent probably >1K hours on MGSV, but I could never get into MGO for some reason. Something about it just pissed me off. Real shame.
This is just sad. I remember MGS4 days, and MGO never be that good again 😢
savemgo.com
Never Could Get into MGO3 ... Funny cause I absolutely loved MGO1 and MGO2 to death. It just lacked in all regards. MGO2 was so much better, you could do all sorts of cool things, including instructor mode and it nailed that crasy mix between MGS goofyness, great controls and quality gameplay and maps...
Couldn't agree more
It's dead because it's a running simulator?
Felipe Viduani no cause the host quits at the end
Maybe both.
Felipe, I have never played it but it sure looks that way right.
When i first started i sucked 0 to 2 kills and 14 times dead , now im doing better its just a matter of learning to use locations and equipment and for me having fun.
Felipe Viduani well you predicted Death stranding except for the word dead.
It's dead because nobody knows how to play it like they did back in MGS4 Online from PS3 days. That and the very small community.
The first time I ever played MGO was on MGS3, and I can’t recall this situation of rage quit. MGO on MGS4 was awesome.
What's with the horn of gondor in the background? Is no one gunna help Boromir?
How can it die if it was never alive?
It was very much alive, especially on PS4 where it has a large fanbase in Japan; no so much on Xbone or PC though.
Sacredwalrus shut your filthy mouth because you havent played or known MGS yet
Damn dude that sucks...Love the game. Wish there was some harsh rules for quitting like that. Every multiplayer game needs that honestly.
Can they just remake Mgo from MGS4 (that’s a long shot only if)
I really miss MGO
Don’t worry MGO, your entire franchise is dead, you won’t be left out now.
Mgo was never a success for a reason, and i honestly think metal gear is a masterpiece singleplayer game and should stay like this.
@PUPPET MASTER good point, coop in stealth based games is definitely a good feature.
This shit is so fucking fun. I still hop on every now and then
Hey! Why not changing the host on the exact time? Like call of duty?
was it even alive someday?
For me, it's dead also because of ps fucking plus. I played mgo2 for free back on ps3 and now i have to pay for something that i already own and pay my internet for
embarrassed to say mgsv was the first one I played in the series from start to finish. I still have snake eater on my ps3 so I'll need to play it once I get a new controller. Just a shame that I never got to experience mgo when it was booming, this state of it in 2021 is depressing.
the state*
3 years later, nothing changed. Why konami? Why?
This is just wanting me to play mgo right now!
i played this mode only for 25 min and know it its pain in the butt and i say fuck it story mode much better
you wanna know what else is a pain in the butt?
Chorico Deluxe there's more O.O omg what else
metal gear survive
WTF O.O looooooooooooooooooooooool didn't buy it thank god
thats pretty gay
Host Thought Invisibility and Camouflage is the same thing.
Maybe konami will think it's a genius idea to make a sequel for this?
If connection was perfect/better and we had less bs stuff like scout spotting you with nvg even though you had litteral camo (not the invisible device) scout instant killing with the marksman rifle, enforcers shield, enforcers explosive/spotting perks , infiltraters camo was ok but it ruined it for noobs, box sliding, plushies
And don't forget grenade launchers!!!
It's pretty sad considering how promising and fun the game can actually be
Well the singleplayer is the main draw
@@nobudgetproductions9987 totally, singleplayer is a whole other experience. Just wish they did something different for the multiplayer rather than this
I stopped playing when they added swimsuits, just made it goofey
Why people cant just fuckin lose XD
Deminus , millennials can't take it men anymore. They cry, wine, and piss moan about everything bro.
My wild guess it that you're a millennial too.
what's up Kob, haven't played in forever...but was that reverse cqc, like from MGO4?
aranaedgardo
Hey buddy how you been? No it wasn't I was just lucky enough to get the first grab. It was all for nothing since the host aborted
Shame those fancy outfits aren't in campain/openworld
This disc mode was the only one that i consider fun but damn Konami not using servers for this
That‘s very annoying_ still a brilliant niche game though.
This is what happens when 90% of the content gets redacted and used to make a spin-off game that's fucking garbage. GG Konami, GG.
Johan Liebert thanks for replying in my stead.
Also, if you're interested, the PS4 has a small community of players
I miss the MGO before this one on ps3 true gamers know about it, the music sounds even death screams were epic
It's not dead tho.
Piers BSAALegend a re you playing it ? Is there a lot of pople playing it
I'm playing it on PS4 and I can tell you it's not dead.
Piers BSAALegend fine il see if i buy with holydays sale
yo what is the current player count ?
krish varagantham around 500 hundred atm 😅
I still playing and lobbys its fullys
pepo metalero you are a liar
Native Muckwa The games been dead for over a year.
Shin Christzilla not on pc tho,not many but there alway a full room every day
Phong Nguyễn Văn same on console, always full lobby... of the same people ....
Kratos1902 well thanks to steam sale and no ps plus requirement, there are alway new guys, not just the same people over and over, that would of been boring :/
They should just make a battle royale on the open maps of Afghanistan and Africa that would bring Mgo from the ashes
For a while lmao next thing you know, everyone goes back to bounty Hunter
I sometimes come back to mgo3, and I always come out with disappointment they completely cancelled mgo2 and don't even update the current one.
I, m playing on Xbox 360 alguien que juegue online?
Yoooo !

!
Kyler Buckaloo !
I miss playing this a lot.
Damn bro didn't know Magnesium Oxide died. So sorry to hear that.
Well, its better than the standard PUBG / COD Shit we have right now. Instead, people rather play broken Early Access Games.
MGO might not be the most innovative Multiplayer ever, but its definitly better than my mentionings.
TL:DR: Videogame Players are stupid.
RAY PUBG IS LIT MAN!!! WHAT’RE YOU TALKING ABOUT????
+BoBo Muhammed
Put a zone in MGO and add 99 players, and you have the same, but a better working game than Playerunknown Shitgrounds.
YOU PIECE OF SH@*T
Whoa Lads, atleast explain why you insult me.
are you...nevermind
It's been a dead game since conception. MGO2 and MGO1 were vastly superior.
Mayhzon Except mgo5 came out with the best gameplay the series has seen.
Mayhzon Okay no not the mission structure or story is what I'm talking about. The core gameplay surpasses past games by far.
You can see a phantom figure walking this is the way to see camo players
Wait 4 years ago?
i've been playing mgs v since launch day and i have no clue what i just witnessed
This is why the Host should be created on the server itself, not the client.
God I spent years on MGO. I had to throw the disk away to get away from it
I don’t know what is happening. I loved MGSV, but I would be shocked to see it’s online mode alive still.
I liked cloak and dagger whenever the server owners were chill
woah i thought mgo was just an old dream.
I still playing MGO3 but it piss me off when they quit when you Fulton /wormhole them and rejoin the match it like what the hell what the point quitting when someone Fulton you then come back in and they Fulton you
Got this in my recommendation, I miss metal gear
Bro a battle royale mode in this game would be lit
There should have been an online coop on this game. It would have been absolutely perfect.
Now that's a Troll from Konami more than Kojima
I miss mgo1 when it was basic and fun, they muddled it up far too much with bullshit. That's why mgo is dead
