The pressure on kids is too much... especially in the Indian set up... all competition..!!! And this leaves a huge negative impact on the kids. Slowly this pressure is spreading in other countries. I am from Zambia and just this year we lost a number of students to suicide due to less marks as expected by parents. Hope this msg will reach out to those parents who put a lot of pressure on kids. Same thing happening here in Australia with getting admission into selective academic schools. These schools are filled with Asians/South Asians. They tutor excessively to get in and then tutor excessively to stay in and get the highest marks for the school in the State/Country. Cram school /tuition centers is open 7 days a week filled with these stressed out unfit kids.

എന്റെ വീടിനു അടുത്ത് 4 വർഷം മുൻപ് 7 th ൽ പഠിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു കുട്ടി suicide ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. മാർക്ക് കുറഞ്ഞതിനു അച്ഛൻ 2 ദിവസം പിണങ്ങി ഇരുന്നു. അച്ഛനോട് മിണ്ടാൻ പറഞ്ഞു അവൻ കുറെ പുറകെ നടന്നു. അച്ഛൻ മിണ്ടില്ലെന്നു തോന്നിയപ്പോ അവനു സഹിക്കാൻ പറ്റീല. ജനാലയിൽ ഷാൾ ഇട്ട് തൂങ്ങി മരിച്ചു. അതിനു ശേഷം അച്ഛനു mental issues തുടങ്ങി. ഇപ്പോഴും recover ആയിട്ടില്ല 😒😒😒
I am a perfect A+ student, no tuition etc. Parents never cared if i failed or not. They didn't even get me a college degree. They focused on my elder brother who was 10 years older. I bought my own food, my own clothes, took care of parents at the end of their lives while my brother who got everything abandoned them. But i don't blame him. My parents didn't care about me, and didn't invest in me. They invested in my brother and made him resentful through pressure. I thrived on my own. I'm a self-made software engineer. I don't have a degree, but i earn enough through freelancing to survive. On my own merit.

This short film gives a valuable lesson to many parents. Stress tends to give a negative impact of studies and work. My parents never forced to me to study or said things like "Get full marks so that you don't embarrass us." They gave me the logic behind it. If I study well, it positively affects me.
My parents were free on me. They let me pursue what stream and career choice I want. With all this freedom, and 0 pressure I got 90+ percentage in my CBSE Boards.
Kids take time to learn; some more than others. As parents, they should support us with love and patience.

In my 10th my parents didn’t pressured me and in mid 10th I used to wake at 4am then studied till 6 am but after few months I stopped that also.i never went tuition in my life ever.i just capture everything in school and after coming home I did nothing . കുട്ടിക്കാലം മുതൽ പഠിച്ച ക്ലാസ്സിൽ ഒക്കെയും ടോപ്പർ ആയിരുന്ന ഒരാളാണ് ഞാൻ. ഞാൻ ഓവർ സ്ട്രെസ്സ് ചെയ്ത് പഠിക്കുന്ന ടൈപ്പ് ആയിരുന്നില്ല. എന്റെ പേരെന്റ്സ് ഒരിക്കൽ പോലും മാർക്ക് കുറയരുതെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു പ്രഷർ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല. കൂടുതൽ മാർക്ക് വാങ്ങിച്ചതിനു ഓവർ അപ്പ്രീസിയേഷൻ തരാറും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. പ്ലസ് ടു വരെ ട്യൂഷനും പോയിട്ടില്ല (ട്യൂഷന് പോകുന്നത് ശരിയല്ല എന്ന അർത്ഥത്തിലല്ല ഇത് പറഞ്ഞത്, എനിക്ക് താല്പര്യം ഇല്ലാത്ത കാര്യത്തിന് എന്നെ ഫോഴ്സ് ചെയ്തില്ല എന്നു മാത്രമാണ് ഞാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചത്). ആകെപ്പാടെ പഠനവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് എന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന രണ്ടേ രണ്ട് കാര്യങ്ങൾ അന്നന്ന് എടുക്കുന്നത് പരമാവധി അന്നന്ന് തന്നെ മനസിലാക്കുക, സംശയങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ സ്കൂളിൽ വെച്ച് തന്നെ ക്ലിയർ ചെയ്തിട്ട് പോരുക ഇതായിരുന്നു. (Bcz they were not able to clear my doubts as they got only primary education) കൂടുതൽ എന്തെങ്കിലും തരത്തിൽ ടോർച്ചർ ചെയ്യുകയോ ഇന്നേവരെ ഒരു തരത്തിലും ഒരു സ്‌ട്രെസും തരുകയോ ചെയ്യാത്തത് കൊണ്ട് മാത്രമാണ് ഞാൻ അത്രയും ഫ്രീ മൈൻഡഡ്‌ ആയിരുന്നത്. പോരാത്തതിന് ആർട്സ്, സ്പോർട്സ് ഈ വക കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ ഒക്കെ എന്റെ താല്പര്യത്തിനു അപ്പുറത്തേക്ക് ഒരു വിലക്കുകളും വെച്ചിട്ടില്ല. എന്റെ ക്ലാസ്സിലെ ഒരുപാട് കുട്ടികൾ പറഞ്ഞു കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട് വീട്ടുകാരെ കൊണ്ടുള്ള മാനസിക സമ്മർദ്ദങ്ങൾ. സത്യം പറഞ്ഞാൽ ഇത് കുട്ടികളെ മാനസികമായി തളർത്തുകയും പഠനത്തിൽ ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിക്കാൻ കഴിയാതാക്കുകയും ആണ് ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്ന് പല രക്ഷിതാക്കളും മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നില്ല. അത് പോലെ സ്കൂൾ കഴിഞ്ഞ് ഹയർ സ്റ്റഡീസിനും ഒരു കോഴ്‌സിന്റേയും പേര് പറഞ്ഞു നിർബന്ധിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. തീർച്ചയായും എന്റെ ആത്മവിശ്വാസം രൂപപ്പെടുന്നതിൽ അവരുടെ ഈ സമീപനം എത്രത്തോളം ഗുണം ചെയ്തു എന്നു എനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായത് മുതിർന്നപ്പോഴാണ്. Ivde examaanennu thanne 10 thavana paranjaale manassilaavu😄 Lucky that Amma haven't ever pressurised any of us. We are 6 children and I'm the fourth. She hasn't ever restricted us to play outdoor as health is always priority. The only thing for which she scolded was too much screen time. Even though we score less marks She'll always just say you've to do better next time. The most awesome thing is that she hasn't ever compared us with other children. My elders secured 90 above in boards.Till 10th I was an average or below average student. But I was free to choose any stream after 10th so i choose Commerce. I really love it and I'm one among the toppers in the class.
In my opinion kids at an age will know importance of studying. At that time they'll put more effort to it. All we wanna do is to support them and have an emotional attachment with them. Your son may not become sachin or messi but atleast he'll enjoy those moments which make him mentally healthy. My brothers were very good at playing football. Specially my eldest brother. I still remember He's got the No. 10 jersey. And sometimes they took me also for the matches.My parents are just an ordinary dad & mum.
