    Every year, my house gets invaded by ants. My whole town deals with them especially during the spring leading into summer. There's actually several posts on the town FB page discussing what people do to remedy their ant dilemmas. I have tried just about everything except the nuclear option. Since we have a small dog & a cat that loves to get into things she shouldn't, I have to use remedies that are pet friendly. Every year, one method will work but the next year it won't (I used cinnamon sticks near their entry point one year but the following year, the ants marched right over the cinnamon like they developed an immunity over the winter). I despise finding them every year but I know it's inevitable. My best defense is to just keep trying different methods or else they'll take over your home. Seriously, unless you want ants sitting on your couch, flipping thru Netflix & ordering stuff off of Amazon... be proactive & don't give up.

      I am so sorry that you having this problem and it really sounds awful. It also sounds like you have some mischievous pets, but did you know that modern-day pesticides are safe for children to play on after they are dry? So, if you use my nuclear option for ants, then it will be perfectly safe for your pets to roll around on the dried pesticide. They can even lick it and it will not cause them any harm. If you would like more information on this, please watch my video that explains the truth about using pesticides. A lot of people are afraid of pesticides because they are thinking of the ones that we used to use in the 20th century. Well, we are almost a quarter of the way through the 21st century, and we now have 21st century pesticides. They are nothing like the ones we used back in 1981 when I first started doing pest control. All of those horrible pesticides were banned in the 1990s. Just like cell phones, and a lot of other technology today, pesticides have come a long way since the 1990s. I think you already watched my video on how to go nuclear on the ants, but I will give you a link to it anyway, just in case you didn't. Believe me. This will end your ant problem in the house. Just keep the pets in another room until the pesticide is dry and they will be fine. Keep them inside while you are treating outside. Let the pesticide dry outside for about 2 hours before you let them back out.
      I hope that helps. Be well Stacy.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 10 měsíci

      I'm sorry that I do not have a video on bed bugs, but I do have one in production right now. Unfortunately, this is going to be a very hard video to do. I am in the organization phase now and have not begun to film yet. There is a lot to treating bed bugs correctly and I have not found a really great video on it. So, I do need to do one, but it will be weeks or even months to produce one that will cover everything. Meanwhile, the best one I have found was done by Solutions Pest and Lawn. The procedure they show you in the video is good, but they do leave some stuff out. So, you need to be more thorough than they suggested in the video. I recommend doing this treatment in all the rooms and not just the bedrooms. Bed bugs can be in your living room as well, and even your dining room. So, you should be treating all the upholstered furniture. You should also vacuum and treat all the floors, and you should treat all the base boards as well. Also, after vacuuming everything but the floor, you can use a steamer to treat all the hiding places. That is to say, you should treat all the surfaces you can with steam, before applying any pesticides. Vacuum first, steam second, and then treat with the pesticides. The steam will immediately kill bed bugs. Get a good one that is used for cleaning and not for getting wrinkles out of clothes. The key to getting rid of bed bugs is to be thorough and treat absolutely everything. When I say everything, I mean everything. Also, you should place bed bug traps under all the legs of the bed and upholstered furniture. The sticky ones are good, but only use them where you can access them easily. If you have legs of the bed that are hard to reach, then use the round ones. You will see them on Amazon. Remove the headboard and store it someplace after treating it. Don't allow the bed to touch the wall. Treat the wall with something like Temprid FX. Also, treat the entire floor under and around the bed with Temprid FX as well. I hope that helps. Products can usually be obtained from Domyown.com. Be well my friend.

      Hi guy, newbie here 👋 I have the same question as the person above. I live in Arkansas and I rent this entire property has been infested for years. Homeowner is going to start by having tree's cut back their are many and attractant. It's my understanding they are carpenter ants as they destroyed kitchen floor last year. I saw them the other day on a tarp like they parachuted from the trees to their death 🤷‍♀️ those suckers were big with wings and sectioned bodies. To add we also have fire ants and perhaps another species small and black
      One thing about the ants i hardly ever see them inside the home however I can feel bubbles under the wood floor, and know that if I saw what was under the house- in the walls- in the attic I would probably be beside myself.
      I probably inadvertently made things worse thinking I was ridding the problem.
      I don't plan on moving anytime soon so I want to do what I can to help preserve the home and win the fight!!
      This property is always damp, samdy soil and I imagine a water source under bathroom/laundry.
      Your knowledge is on how and where to start would be appreciated

      @@Mothership1996 These do sound a lot like carpenter ants. I have a video on this, but it's not cheap and something that the landlord should be doing. I will give you a link to the video. Keep in mind that the ants in the house are just a satellite colony. The main colony is outside somewhere. If you treat the inside and the outside of the building, that will keep them out, but it's even better to kill the main colony. That means treating the yard. So, you would need to treat the outside of the house and the yard every 60 to 90 days. The inside treatment is once and done, if you keep up on the outside treatment. The reason for the yard treatment every 60 to 90 days is because they may establish another colony from neighboring properties. So, the cheapest way is to kill the colony inside and then treat just the building outside every 60 to 90 days. If you also include the yard treatment, then that will make it impossible for them to attack the house. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    Great stuff, I’m firing my pest control company and doing it myself.. thanks for the boost in confidence and information. So many insecticides out now and many are almost similar as to what they treat.
    How to differ and is it worth spending the extra cash for the other ones that have a higher price tag?
    What do you think about Bifen LP Granules to treat the lawn?
    What products can be mixed together? For example:.. Taurus sc can be mixed with Talak 7.9 F Bifenthrin Insecticide?
    Thanks and if you can help with the questions I’d be great full

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 9 měsíci +1

      The best way to prevent all pests from entering your house is to do a barrier treatment around the exterior. I have a video on how to do that and I will give you a link to it. If you really want to stop all the pests, then you should also treat your yard as well. I will give you a link to that video as well. You can treat your lawn with Bifen LP granules, and they do a very good job. However, the granules are not necessary unless you have a particular pest that is affecting your lawn. That is to say, if you have a pest that is operating below the surface of the ground, then the granules are a very good idea. Keep in mind that you should water the granules in with a pesticide, and that pesticide will probably take care of the problem without the granules. So, unless you have a pest that is damaging your lawn, most of the time you can just get away with spraying the lawn little liquid pesticide. That is why I treat my lawn every 60 days with Bifen XTS. I treat the entire yard, from the house to the property line. Since I already have a hose end sprayer in my hand, I just go ahead and treat the exterior of the house as well with that same sprayer. You are not supposed to do that because it applies too much pesticide, but it does not harm you with the environment. Also, it makes the treatment of the exterior of the house super fast. Not only that, but the hose end sprayer allows me to reach areas that are as high as 25 ft above the ground.
      The only pesticide that works well in a hose and sprayer is Bifen XTS. If you're going to treat your yard, then don't mess with any other pesticides. This also happens to be the cheapest one as well, per finished gallon. It looks expensive to purchase, but keep in mind that it only gets mixed 1/3 of an ounce per gallon instead of the 1 ounce per gallon that most other products get mixed at. So, the Bifen XTS goes three times as far. If you wish to compare prices, simply divide the price of the Bifen XTS by 3, and that will give you a comparative cost to what a gallon of other pesticides would cost. In other words, 1 gallon of Bifen XTS, equals three gallons of the other stuff.
      The price of a pesticide has nothing to do with its effectiveness. The only thing that matters is the active ingredient and how concentrated it is. That is to say, you need to look at the percentage of the active ingredient. As a general rule, the more active ingredient, the more expensive it's going to be. Some active ingredients just cost more to make than others, so the price of the product is higher, but that does not make it more effective than a less expensive product with a different active ingredient. Most of these products work really well, so it doesn't matter much what active ingredient is being used, as long as the label is claiming a 90-day residual. Keep in mind though that they never last 90 days. That is why I always recommend treating every 60 days. Still, that is a great way to compare apples to apples. Just take a look at how long the residual is for a product, and that is a good way to compare it with other products. The bottom line is that the cheapest cost per finished gallon and the most effective product you can buy is going to be Bifen XTS. The only thing about it though is if you are going to use it in a tank sprayer, it is very difficult to mix just one gallon of it because it is difficult to measure out 1/3 of an ounce. So, if you were going to use it in a tank sprayer, it is best to mix 3 gallons at a time. If you are only going to use a tank sprayer and never a hose end sprayer, then you are better off buying the Bifen IT because that gets mixed at 1 oz per gallon. It costs a little bit more for finished gallon then the Bifen XTS, but not that much more.
      You would not want to mix Taurus SC with any other products. You could mix it with an insect growth regulator, but that is typically unnecessary. If you mix it with bifenthrin, that would pretty much ruin the effect of the fipronil. Those products are completely incompatible.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      I live in Clermont area and since I moved into my home when it was just finished in December 2022 I had terminex spray and treat the home before we moved in and cleaned also.
      My wife and I are a bit of OCD too. Lol.
      We saw some bug activity and it helped clear that up in the start of moving in. More of spiders and three roaches and some ants 🐜 red and black.
      Fast forward to three months later I saw that anything that came into the home or popping up looked like they were having a seizure and died. Yet the spiders 🕷️ and couple big ones 1 inch body wide and some small was still an issue.
      Home is pretty much sealed tight but as always I look for any light or openings and close them up if need be. It’s a brand new home after all. But you never know..
      Terminex had to go due to they do not treat the lawns and I needed the lawn treated for being in a new community the builder installed cheap Bahia sod that had bugs in the soil, as well as all the wildlife that got stirred up and pushed out for all these homes to get built.
      I hired Aptive and they did treat inside and outside including the lawn. It’s been good the first couple of treatments but not the best due to I get one or two insects 🐜 here and there. But the spiders still popping up here and there especially on the outside. Get some thin black bugs too, it’s not that horrible but for my wife and daughter one bug is too many 😆. I’m from Ecuador 🇪🇨 and we have roaches and all types of bugs out there. So you can say it’s not gonna kill me yet I don’t wanna have bugs if I can help it.
      I have noticed a lack of attention to spraying and noticed there isn’t a constant tech assigned to my home so each will have his own way of treating. That doesn’t go well with me so I am deciding to apply myself from now on.
      I do have a bottle of the Bifen i t in my garage and as for spraying I own a 4 gallon pack back sprayer electric. I also have a hose end sprayer the Ortho red and white sprayer with the dial for setting different application rates.
      I plan on using the Taurus sc for the soffit areas only and the lower areas, windows and door openings the bifen xts inside and out correct?
      No talstar?
      There are a couple of different types of bifen insecticides like Bifenthrin-Plus-C ? Are there any benefits to them or simple marketing?
      No granular unless i have a specific insect problem.
      Can I mix the insecticide and make 2 gallons or three and Lea it mixed or not recommended?
      I will get the ortho red ant killler powder I saw you suggest in another video.. brilliant and thank you for that info.
      Anything I can do for the flies in a garage?
      I actually installed gaskets foam tape all around my garbage can lid to seal it completely from smells and garbage bags to not attract flies which has drastically helped bet get them here and there when I’m in the garage so I would like something that I can spray on them that kills in contact for the flies in the garage?
      Thank you for your expertise and time and will follow all your recommendations and videos.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 9 měsíci +2

      @@baja1980s My best guess is that most of the unwanted pests are getting in because the exterior treatment was not done correctly. You can certainly treat with the backpack sprayer, and you can use the Taurus SC for the soffits if you like. It really doesn't matter what brand of bifenthrin you use, as long as it has the right concentration of active ingredient. I have found that the Bifen products are the most cost-effective.
      You can use the Ortho sprayer for the lawn, but it may not work the same way as the sprayer I am recommending. Therefore, the dilution rate in the sprayer is going to be totally different. If memory serves, with that kind of a sprayer, you need to calculate the square footage of your lawn, and then mix the product correctly in the sprayer, based on that square footage. I may be wrong about that, but I think that is how that sprayer works. You need to read the directions that came with it. I find that is way too complicated to be messing with, so I find it way easier just to use the sprayer that I recommend, along with the Biden XTS. Also, doing it with the sprayer that I recommend is going to ensure a proper application. Just like with the house, the reason pest control treatments fail is usually because the treatment was done incorrectly. I think it may be easy to make mistakes with the Ortho sprayer, so it is worth the $20 to buy the correct sprayer. Also, the Bifen XTS is less expensive to use as well.
      Do not leave pesticides in the sprayer. You should only mix the amount that you are going to use immediately. Make sure that you clean your sprayer thoroughly after each use.
      If you are getting flies, then they are breeding somewhere. You need to find the location of the breeding area and eliminate it. To kill flies that are buzzing around, you can simply use a can of Raid Flying Insect Killer.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      If you want to get rid of the spiders and the ants, then do an exterior treatment. It will prevent new ants and new spiders from entering. You can easily kill spiders inside your house with a can of Raid Flying Insect Killer. Just spray the Raid on any spiders or spider webs that you see. You can knock down the spider webs with a broom or dust mop. Spray the Raid under the bed, behind the headboard, under dressers, behind dressers, in closets, and any other place where you are likely to find spiders.
      It is important to understand that spiders got in your house from the outside. Therefore, you must treat the outside every 60 to 90 days to stop them from coming back in. It's the same for ants. I have a video on how to do that, and I will place the link below for you. If you really want to go nuclear on these guys, then I suggest that you treat your yard as well. I do both treatments every 60 days and it stops virtually all pests from entering my house, that do not fly in, or that I do not carry in.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 10 měsíci

      Buy a fipronil foam and shoot it into the hole for about 10 seconds. You should do this right after it gets dark. The wasps will all return before dark and they don't fly well in the dark, so it's a lot safer. They should all be in there and won't come out while you are applying the foam. As soon as you stop foaming, run for cover. They shouldn't come after you in the dark, but don't take chances. This is a slow kill pesticide, so it may take a few days before all the wasps are dead. I will give you links to the foams I like to use. I like FiPro the best, but they won't ship it everywhere. If you can't get FiPro, then use Termidor Foam. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      To rid your home of fleas, the first thing you need to do is to vacuum all the upholstered furniture and pet bedding, paying particular attention to places where fleas can hide, like behind cushions. Next, vacuum the floors throughout the house. If you have a vacuum with a disposable bag, then discard the bag outside in the trash. If you have a vacuum with a reusable canister, empty it outside in the trash and then wash it out with the garden hose before bringing it back in the house. Wash all bed linens and pet bedding in your washing machine and dry on high heat. Next, spray a pesticide that is labeled for fleas, on all the floors and on areas of upholstered furniture that does not come in contact with people or pets. To treat floors, hold the can at arm’s length and make sweeping motions across the floor to cover all surfaces. For upholstered furniture, you should spray under the cushions and then any folds that there are. The product that I like best is called PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug Aerosol. I will give you a link for it. Fleas can be hard to kill, so you may need to do this treatment every two weeks until the problem is solved. If you have pets, then you should treat them as recommended by your vet. The reason fleas got into the house in the first place is because they are outside. If you have a flea problem outside, then there is a good chance you will end up with a flea problem inside. Even if you don't have pets, the fleas will still jump on you when you are outside, and so you can carry them in. Therefore, you need to treat the outside as well. I do this with a hose end sprayer. I will give you a link to my video on how to do that. I find that treating the yard every 60 days seems to do the trick.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      @GuysPestSolutions have you ever used tekko pro igr or nyguard igr for flea, which of the 2 is stronger and with better results ? 1 more question Should I purchase a quick knockdown liquid like synergist like exciter which has pyrethrins and piperonyl butoxide to boost give the alpine wsg granules

      @@Plantbabies Products like ExciteR feature a really quick knockdown, but they have very little residual action. That means, they don't last very long after you apply them. That is why I prefer to use PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug Aerosol. It will also provide a reasonably fast knockdown, and it will last about 30 days after you apply it. Not only that, but it also contains an insect growth regulator that will work for up to 7 months. This is one of the safest and most effective products on the market for fleas. This is for indoor use only though. For outdoor use you need to go with the Bifen XTS.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      @GuysPestSolutions thank you so much for your replies. I already brought Alpine wsg Granules. I'm just trying to figure out if I should use tekko Pro igr. Do you have experience with tekko Pro ? Is it a generic brand ? I'm also considering nyguard igr. Do you have experience with nyguard igr which igr would be the most effective with the best results? I have a 1 gallon hand sprayer

      @@Plantbabies Either Tekko Pro or Nyguard IGR are fine to use for fleas. I think they work as good as any of the other IGRs. I don't prefer one over the other. You wouldn't need to use both. Alpine WSG will also work for fleas and you can mix the Tekko Pro or the Nyguard with it. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.
