    The best part about the screen in the Maverick is there is a button to turn it off.

    I priced an XL Maverick with a 2.0, hitch and Ford Co-pilot at $26,160 today. The hybrid was an extra charge of around 1800 but it was sold and not any more available.
    The only options I would have liked are available aftermarket like a heated seat and steering wheel.
    I can’t mentally separate not having AWD but there were a few XLT AWD with the FX4 package for $30980. That’s $4800 more.
    I think the XL would do the job but I just have to think it through more.

    I Like Both Trucks, But It's The Santa Cruz For Me, Much Better Warranty, Maverick Has 5 Recalls! Going With SEL Trim For 33 Thousand Personally This Is All The Truck I Need. Thanks For Your Report!

      Yes the fuel savings would definitely be nice! 40 mpg and having a truck to haul things is a win win in my book!

    Standard package on the Santa Cruz allows you to tow 3500 which mops the floor with the Maverick. You also get a 10 year/100k mil warranty with the Hyundai. The Hyundai also has a mechanical leveling system, which is a really nice feature for its price. I think the Hyundai is a better option and deal overall. I test drove the Santa Cruz I have now and the Maverick and I chose the Santa Cruz. I use the bed for work every day almost, and it’s perfect for camping. They’re both solid choices for anyone who purchases these trucklets.

    It's funny how people still feel that the maverick is a better truck. On paper beside gas performance and price and a slightly longer bed, the Santa cruz beats the maverick on paper. Less recalls, hauls more, faster, higher payload, better warranty.
    Its overall just better.
    The maverick appeals to traditional truck guys that want something that looks like a truck. The styling the Santa Cruz aint for everybody.

      Except the engine is crap. That warranty doesn't do you much good when it takes months to get a replacement engine for it. I'd go with the Maverick only with the 2.0 turbocharged engine.

    You should have put the Santa Cruz in Sport mode.......that thing Rips!!! the Santa Cruz also has a squishy Eco mode too. I really can't say I'm surprised you guys would pick the Ford with the squishy Hybrid.

      @@TeamNewcom I didn't like the looks at first either and I still hate the grill with the jewel lights. The Night version hides the jewels when thew lights are off so easier to look at, but the rest of it is nothing to complain about. I think 4 door mini trucks look stupid in general to be honest with you.

    So.. you'd pick the Ford because it has better resale value? I guess if you know you're going to get tired of it being slow, boring to drive, and taking it in for problems, unloading it would be a priority... BUT.. if I were to pick one of these vehicles to own/use/drive, I'd pick the Santa Cruz all day long. It's peppier, refined and has luxurious interior (compared to Ford), drives better, costs less, breaks less, and is available.

    • @Loyalwhiteknight
      @Loyalwhiteknight Pƙed měsĂcem +1

      Good luck with that. Hyundai and Kia engines are garbage. Santa Cruz isn't a bad looking vehicle but I'd take my 2024 XLT with the 2.0 turbocharged engine and lifetime powertrain warranty over it all day long.

    Ford makes cheap cars and the Maverick is really a cheaply made truck and doesn’t have half the equipment the Santa Cruze has like rear defrost, one touch front windows, self leveling suspension and the list goes on and ford is number 1 for recalls and less warranty

      Wrong. Their engines are crap and that warranty doesn't do you any good when you're waiting up to six months for a replacement engine. My Maverick has a lifetime powertrain warranty from the dealership. Lets see Kia or Hyundai offer that.
