I feel like anyone that dives has an experience that forces them to contemplate the life of a fish with a sacrificed hook in its mouth. Really admired that you took the hook out of the swordfish's mouth (at minor risk to yourself). I think if everyone had the opportunity to live on the water for a time, the ocean would be a cleaner place. Love y'all's channel.

Love freshly caught tuna! We take lemons, wasabi, and soy sauce out on the boat with us...nothing like wiggling fresh tuna sashimi on deck. Yes, it's a bit of a gamble because of possible parasites, but the taste is magnificent! ( I do a dose of ivermectin just to be safe)
We flash freeze the majority of the fish and make poke a couple of days after we get home. I could live on sushi, sashimi, poke, and grilled tuna tacos for the rest of my life!
I think you will enjoy a visit to the Privilege factory. I was there in Feb. To move a buddy’s 45 Lagoon to Lanzarote. Stopped into reception to see about getting some new decals for my P395. I was shown into the owners office and ended up chatting with him for 30 minutes about sailing and boats. Super nice guy who really enjoys speaking with Privilege owners. Good luck!

5:41 one of the main reasons I wanna cross the ocean is to see the sky out there. My dad was a commercial fisherman and said there’s nothing like it, the Milky Way stretches across the whole sky. I can’t imagine laying out on a boat at night just staring up, thinking about existence and world and life. Wondering if somewhere out there some other living creature is looking up and seeing the faint glimmer from our star, wondering if WE exist.

Man! That's quite the haul! Hope you have some big freezers! A good deep-freezer (-20 deg F) combined with proper meat-wrapping paper can keep that fish fresh for at least six months!

ok, so you guys might have moved on by now, but I did a trekking trip in Corsica about 25 years ago. There are a number of prehistoric sites on the island, I think we went to the one at Filitosa that is absolutely fascinating. The history dates back thousands of years, and it just makes you realise how long civilisation has existed in places like this, all over the Mediterranean.
Absolutely thrilled to see you guys catching good fish too. Great size and very jealous of the feast you guys had as a result.

Nice Catch! If you are planning on keeping in it in the fridge always wrap the fish in paper towels. It will soak up any moisture that collects at the bottom of the bag and it will keep your fish fresher longer. Kind of like when you buy meat at the store it always has that pad under the meat. Same principle. Please disregard if did this off camera.
Following your journey since the first episode. Happy to know that you are in the beautiful city of Barcelona, my hometown. If you are tired of the noisy City of Barcelona , go to Port Ginesta / Castelldefels. A fantastic Marina just 10 nm south of Barcelona. Well protected and much cheaper than the Barcelona Harbour. Excelent comunication to Barcelona by Train ( every 15 Minuts )Port Ginesta is also a good place if you want to leave your boat while traveling on Land. Enjoy your time. By the way Port Ginesta has special places for Catamarans and special Catamaran services.

Jack, what you were looking for is called the 'Bortle Scale', and it is used primarily in astronomy to determine the amount of light in the air. You're correct that a Bortle 10 area would be like standing in Times Square, New York City on New Year's Eve. You wouldn't be able to see anything. As to the 'Northern LIghts', you'd also need to have the proper solar activity to see them. You could go to the North Pole and not reliably see them. They happen all the time, just not everywhere at once. So, while they are out there, you still need to be in the right place at the right time to see them.
Keith, how much meat do you get off a tuna of that size?
I think you all would look wonderful in a new 580, by the way. Plus, get that forward master stateroom with the lounging area directly off of it, onto the forward deck. Would be nice if Privilege worked out a deal with you. However, looking at both Nick and Terysa and Jason and Nicky, getting their new boats, you might have to stick around Barcelona, or France for a year or more to get it!

My favorite memories from when you guys first got started are from your early fishing days. I love how you include a clip from it in your intro. OK so, yes, we eat tuna raw but you gotta freeze it first to kill the parasites. No one sells sushi anywhere that hasn’t been frozen first. ;)
They freeze Coho or Salmon before Suchi, so it makes sense to freeze Tuna.
Nice job on the fish team zatara! For sure not a sword fish I am however pretty sure it was a spearfish which is quite a rare catch..
You will love Barcelona, I lived there for 8.5 years and visit every time I get a chance. My favorite city in the world!
This video made me giggle. I see the kids learned about light pollution levels and maps from my last comment. I think on Finn's video. Time to get them a big telescope! So if Keith spears Shamu that would be a good 4-6 thousand lbs of meat! There was a family of 6 in the late 70s who were circumnavigating the world and their boat was rammed by an Orca (probably on accident as it killed the Orca) a little ways past the Galapagos. They were stranded out to sea for a good 38 days and their lifeboat sank too. They were in a tiny dingy. By the time they were rescued by a Japanese boat their clothes had dissolved off and they couldn't walk. They survived on sea turtles and rain water. It was a harrowing story that made me cry when they were rescued. Both the dad and oldest son who was 18 at the time wrote books. That is the only 1 of 3 times in history I know of that an Orca sank a boat and it was probably accidental.
Keith, you are so correct about "Courage". I am dealing with the courage of leaving land after my parents passes away (I am their caregiver). I have been on a sailboat since I was 3 weeks old (sailing in a laundry basket in the cockpit.) When my folks sold our Bristol 41.1(great boat for blue water sailing), I miss it everyday. Then I found you guys, Nikki/Jason, Ruby Rose 2, Dauntless/family. Thank you for encouraging me to just it. I have so much to do before I buy an old sailboat (Bristol or Island Packet 41-51).

Not a swordfish,it’s a marlin.if you pay attention to how it pulls,how it runs,how it pumps on the rod and the reel you will learn to tell what it is before you see it.good fishing Zatara !!

Orcas have been very active in Gib Strait recently. Friends are getting great polecam footage. Personal experience is they are very evasive if you get in the water with them, though I can understand if they are nudging your rudders this may not appeal. The pilots seem to be more approachable in the Strait than almost anywhere else. They are often curious around people and come within a metre or so. Keith, I know you've been in with pilots before.

Not sure if you know this, but if you freeze your fish. You should fill your bags with salt water to remove the air. When you pull the fillet out of the freezer it will taste as if you just caught it.
