Your video is exactly what I needed, thank you! The Brainstorm instructions are not good and with your excellent video I am printing cards.
Harry Abell No problem! It was frustrating to not see any instructions so once I figured to out I had to post. So, I'm happy to be able to help anyone else needing it.
Tip for test printing. Grab one of your PVC Card and a hobby knife and trace cut out a pice of standard paper. Now you will have a cheap piece of paper. Do this several times. You can also use some Scotch Removable Double Sided Tape on the card tray between the plastic and the cards to help hold the paper in place. No make test prints and not waste your plain PVC cards or RfID embedded PVC cards! I also took some old business cards but the are not quite tall enough so some test writing bleeds on to plastic tray and would need to be cleaned as not to smear clean PVC cards on next print job.
Still useful in 2022! Thanks
Wow !!!! So glad I found this. Thank you !!!!
Where did you get the J-tray?
for the love of god. thank you. Brainstorm ID had been utterly useless.. till now.

Thank you!!
Pls, just purchase canon iP7240 three days ago for printing ID Card in which i have the complete tray for id card. We installed it but is not printing properly (print half part). Kindly let me know how to set the id card on Coreldraw
Do I need the adapter if I’m printing through a windows? Or will the reg printer cord be okay?
Do you need the adapter to recognize the tray as opposed to just using the regular USB port? Mac user here too.
I second this question
I have a macbook pro and MX922 canon printer and I do not use the adapter.
@@CakeAlmighty yeah it seems the adapter is useless being its going from the macbook pro to a standard usb which seems pointless being the computer already has a usb slot or two on it, so what your saying is you don't need the adapter to print ID cards correct?
When we have finished printing ... and when I touch the card, the ink will be permanently removed from it ... the solution is please
What color cartridges do you use?
- a glossy color?
Hi can you help me please to set pvc card printer with pixma pro 100 with K tray?
My ID cards are printing with half of the image on one card and the other half on the next card. The image is also off centered. Can you help me with this matter?

Probably a bit late now but does this printer print on 30 mil pvc card?

Janice Lindsay Hope everything worked out! Happy to help :)
Can you print on color pvc cards? If I use black inkjet pvc card will it print white ink on a black card?
Can i increase the quality ? I did a test print its not bad but could be better
I have a MacBook Air and I got the usb c connector and it doesn't fit.
The cards come out sticky, and scratch very easily so they look good when you first do them but you cant actually use them in every day situations
Awesome
Hey mine are sticky as well... Do you know how to fix this?
neeed help! lmfao on gimp i click on create new and idk what is the image setting scaled at, i print it's not aligned with the cards. any help would be appreciated
This is EXACTLY what i needed but quick question... When I put my J tray in, the printer pushes it out and then says no tray. Can you help?!
danielle rigby Mine does that sometimes, too! The J-Tray is supposed to have a little mark on the side to line up with the white triangle on the printer (it’s where you insert the J-Tray). The tray I bought from brainstorm doesn’t have that mark, so sometimes pushing it all the way in doesn’t work out. It’s really a trial and error kind of thing that you may have to play with a little bit, but what works for me is cancelling the printing job and starting it over, then when you put the tray in, push it in softly just until it stops. Don’t jam it in, don’t do a “security push” or try to push it in further.
I really wish brainstorm ID made the marks so it would line up and work every time, but once you figure out what works you might be able to do what I did and take a metallic sharpie and mark the correct stopping point on the J-tray yourself, for future reference. Hope this helps.
Hey Guys... Typically when this happens it's because the silver squares are getting dirty/stained from ink/etc. If you place a small piece of aluminum foil over the square it should decrease the chance of the printer rejecting the tray. We don't usually put the lines on the tray because we've found that pushing the tray all the way in (before there is pressure needed) works better most of the time. Good luck!
Can Only one PVC card be printed instead of two cards?
Hi can you share or do you known the profile to print with Canon pixma pro 100 please I use photoshop
Any info about PIXMA pro 100? I'm not sure about this plate compatibility

Abdulrahman Othman you are using the wrong card, you need inkjet cards.
WHICH IS USING ANY INK
Does anyone have a problem with their printer spitting the tray out without printing? As soon as I press OK the print takes the tray and acts like it’s going to work then just pushes it out.
maybe its the silver squares on the jay tray if any are missing it wont print
I Tried printing but it doesn't work because of the ink. Do you need a special type of ink or the ink that came with the printer is fine?
Agnes Yang Do you mean there's no ink coming out on the cards at all or the ink that is coming out is smeared? I used the ink that came with the printer and it worked, so if you're having a problem with the ink not coming out at all make sure you've taken all of the safety tabs off of the printer and the ink cartridges. If that doesn't work it could be an issue with the printer and I would suggest taking it back or calling customer support for assistance. Canon Customer Service can be reached at 1 (800) 652-2666
If the ink is smudging on the cards make sure you have the right kind of cards. You will need Inkjet PVC cards for this to work with the printer. The surfaces of them should be a little tacky and that will keep the ink in place.
Hi Agnes, that's because the cards are not Inkjet PVC Cards. They need to have a coating on them so the ink will dry.
i have a canon pixma mx490 is that tray compatible I dont have a mac book lord how do i do this
I was wondering that myself ... have you found out?
brainstormidsupply.com will tell you if your printer is compatible with the tray
You bae now
my problem is the ink stays wet
Hi Eddy, that's because the cards are not Inkjet PVC Cards. They need to have a coating on them so the ink will dry.
You are a DOLL!!!!!
Thank you!!
