- Alright... check this out. 302, short bed, 2wd f100. A hot rod truck in disguise. Personally.... As far as a “truck” goes Id rather have a long bed. But for a hot rod fun truck this is a perfect start. It runs, it drives, it has a title! Shes a project you can literally drive home!! Someones gotta come save this little guy.
I'd say truck is worth $2500-$3000. 78-79 grill. Almost rust free and runs great. Good patina too. TAKE HER HOME!!!!
jwarehouse1 i will give you 1000$ , plus cost of renovation
jwarehouse1 ok fine give me your contact plz phone number
78 to 79 grill with but its a 73 to 76 i still like 77-79 better because of the badge on the cowl in stead of the fenders
Lots of potential there. I wish they still made barebones worktrucks. Nowadays they are huge with too many doors and options unnecessary in a truck. They cost as much as a damn house!
I agree. I don’t know why people like new trucks so much. I mean; you have a job to do. Do you really need all these doors and features?!
@@millerkiller6496
If you think about it all the fancy crap on Lincons and Caddys that goes wrong after just a few years makes them damn near worthless. Now trucks are built "loaded" like that.
You can get a basic work truck for $25k if you shop around.
@@nodak81
Glad to know they still exist but I haven't seen one at any dealers in many years. I can't even find stick shift.
I feel the same only exception is the Raptor. And no more building your own truck from the factory if I'm not mistaken.
Those were rare trucks when new. Not too many shortbeds produced. Somebody needs to save it.
David Rubin SERIOUSLY!
I don't think so when new. Yeah more were 8' beds, but I'm sure they made well over 100,000 2wd reg cab/short box Ford trucks in 1978. You say rare, I'm thinking its something they maybe only did for a year or two and made maybe a couple thousand at the most.
@@aaronbays4 correct. More 8 beds. I think I've seen maybe 3 in my lifetime. I see lots of chevy & dodge. I just assume ford has to be the rarest.
David Rubin it’s a ford that’s why 😂 you don’t find them lasting to much like chevy and dodge

Seeing that faded "I
Nice truck! It can be saved.
Of course it still runs those are my favorite trucks that'll out live any Chevy! Cab corners and doors look good too surprised that valve cover sticker hasn't worn away. I had a 79 F-150 longbed long gone after a flood. But now got a nice 78 Bronco.
Best Ford trucks ever built. Love them 70's square bodies.
Nice find! You gotta love those old Fords! I had a '77 with a 302 and 3 speed manual on the column. Always regretted selling it.
Wow. That thing is a diamond in the swank motel of the swamp . Well whatever, it's actually very cool due to the configuration factor of it, and the bones are good on that one. Working guages, even a horn . I even spied that super fancy cassette deck with graphic equalizer. That would be a sweet rig to fix up for sure.
All that needs is some new suspension bits, a good service and an interior, the patina on the exterior is amazing. If I was in the U.S I'd be on my way down there with a pocket full of cash and a trailer.
i really luv old vintage trucks. a blast from the past
That would make one damn good wood hauler! My grandpa would be drooling over this!
That's a really smooth running motor in the truck! Someone who's a big Ford truck fan ought to snatch that right up!
Such great American heavy duty trucks, more than 40 years still running .
That's from a time period when trucks could be worked without worrying about scratching them. A real truck!
Bet you the owner passed away and the kid's wanted to get rid of dad's old beat up truck quickly...
OK, at only 2 seconds in to the video, my 1st thought is SAVE THIS THING SOMEBODY!!!!!!
Rob's Randomness Me Too! Bro that's crazy as hell that thing could be bass bad ass!!
Just needs a little work! I love my 74f100, buff it and that paint will come right back I swear to God.
that was my same thought. funny that the front license plate says I love my truck! and hi rob's randomness like your vids
Thanks!
Save it!!!!!!!
I don’t think I’ve ever see a shortened dent side before. Geez, that’s not junk. That’s a cool cruiser truck starter project! Someone must buy!
Needs to be saved. Great as a project or a work horse. Trucks like that are snatched up in a Blink of an eye in Southern California . It's really a shame seeing something like that scrapped. Keep up the great work on the vids Jay!
that truck looks just like the one my uncle had way back in the late 90's even the chrome thing on the radio was something he did to his trucks but sadly the one he had got stolen by some boy sometime in the early 90's when my uncle tried to sell the thing...boy gave him half of what my uncle was asking then took the truck and ran and it was never seen again but according to my uncle the boy got killed but the truck's location remained unknown....his was even a 76 model same color and interior as this one but sadly no way to tell for sure since he still has the title and you said this one had a title...still sweet to see this truck since I spent a good bit of time in the one he had...this truck deserves to be saved as is! shame on the person who scrapped this poor Ford!
Somebody save that! It’s worth significantly more than what ever the scrap price was.
I drove one of these on a Jeep trail in Utah and loved it. The guy who scrapped it needs fed that front plate if I had anything at all right now I'd come get it . Thats a really nice solid old Ford love this boat style cover tie downs along the bed .
You need to save that truck. Someone will definitely buy it. I have a 73 f100 with a fe 390 v8. Runs great. Those f100's are getting harder and harder to find these days. I hope you save it. Take care my friend.
Somebody will surely snap this up given how clean it is. It's actually worth saving!
With a new paint job and new gauges and new steering wheel it make a great work truck
BIG BRIAN7 GTA nah, all the gauges work fine. Wouldnt touch them
Clean er up, leave the body alone, replace what needs replacing an put some black smoothies with white letter tires. Awesome.
My favorite Ford truck.
Wow. Someone is crazy to scrap that!
Never be surprised what people will scrap. I've seen even more rare old rides get scrapped. Rarest I've seen was a 70 Chevelle SS396.
In really nice condition wow! Less rust than my actual 74 F250 it's in such good shape unbelievable
a running and driving shortbed F-100 with minimal rust? you can easily get 2 grand for that as it sits.
One of the only fords that are truly built ford tough
Please make it a Project Jay.I love to see the Classic Motors you rescue and fix up.😎
No trucks are made like that anymore. Very rare, awesome truck, take care of that, they run forever.
jay i would buy that one if i were you that truck os truly a diamond in the ruff
Nice truck! Still had a lot of life left to give! Wheels, a good paint job and refurbish the interior, would be really sharp! Worth a lot of money! 💰
They didn't scrap the Truck they gave it to you. Lucky for next buyer, jealous👍
Pretty awesome truck
Don't crush it. Wow!!!
A 76 with a 79 grill. When I started driving, I had the same thing. 302, C4, 33's, dual exhaust, power steering, SWB
That clean of a old truck and u have the title!!! Sale it as is or keep it for yourself, please don't part out or crush...I'm really not a Ford guy but this truck is worth keeping!!
Needs to be save that f100 is to clean to scrap
There should be a moratorium against the use of road salt anywhere in North America. 42 years old and still solid.
Jay or someone PLEASE save this truck!!!!
I wanna save it, but I live too far away
where is he located?
Nx2overide South Carolina
She's a survivor
If this guy lives in South Carolina and he will take 500ish for it I'll come and get it
And at 40 seconds in, I figured out someone changed out the grill & headlight assembly from a '78 or '79 XLT.
Only took me 10 seconds to figure out you're a weirdo and you need a hobby...
Same here,,, But from '73-'79 all the bodyparts can interchange,,, Only maters if the owner wants to keep the original factory year style..... I've seen trucks at Carshows Were they've put Race Track style Trim on a Pre '77 year model....Or have added emblems that counteract each other...(Ranger bed side emblem,, but has Custom on glovebox), Etc..Etc...
The main thing on this truck that I am looking at,, is How solid and fairly rust free all the panels are,,, Factory original parts are getting harder and Harder to come by... sure they make re-po parts but they're a pain in the butt as far as fit and finish...
Heck,, If This guy didn't sell it out right,, he could almost make more money parting it out on E-bay....
Definitely save that one! The grille/headlights are from a 78 or 79.
I hope someone saves it. It looks healthy. The whole truck. I'm so agree with you Jay, it should never been there at the yard.
TheCraig909 would be all over this he has a few of these and loves em!
damn!! WHY........! I need this!! I would restore this Truck.
I am not even a huge pickup truck fan but I feel bad that that truck is gonna be scrapped! That should be restored!
WHY THE HELL WOULD SOMEONE WANT TO SCRAP THAT!?!?!?!? IM TRIGGERED!!!! Love your channel man, hope you save a lot of these.
Ive seen all kinds of things scrapped over the years, its amazing what some people will throw away. Thanks for checking us out buddy!
I was 17 when they came out new! I still would drive that truck as a daily!!
That's a beautiful truck! Old ford trucks back then sounded sporty, but sadly were slow.
If it's 76, it has a new grill and head lights.. 76 would still have the round lights.. Oil pressure was there, but the gauge should have been in the middle a bit more.. but, a cool rig for sure.. It will take about $10 grand to bring it back to a decent daily driver... $20+ to bring it back to original.. Nice project truck for sure! it's all there and just needs to be loved!
Damn shes working beter than my car and its older. But one thing i know those old truks never die...
Who in the right mind would do this... killer looking truck.. patina is just right.
I'd swap out the seat, straighten the exhaust, fix the steering wheel, and drive it as is. That's crazy someone scrapped that.
I know someone comments "save it" on every video of yours but this is one that should actually be saved
You cant have a plate that says ''i
Thats what I was thinking
Corrosion37 oh the Irony
@@vuckyabx no its my uncle's. Its a 73 challenger... Nothing special. But he does have a 1971 roadrunner with a 440 in almost perfect shape. He has a 69' roadrunner with a 440 six pack thats rotting to oblivion. He has a 67' cornet R/T red on red, don't know the engine. And finally a 70' cuda with a six pack engine. I believe it's a 350 but might be a 440.... All these cars I've never seen run in my 20 year on this planet.😢 oh and almost forgot he has the 2012 dodge challenger srt8 yellowjacket... Mopar or nocar
Corrosion37 Maybe the owner died
I have a hunch that person may have died, or stopped driving. Sad.
Replace dry rotted bushings, new paint job, and some interior restoration and that'll be one nice truck. Even sounds like it's running perfectly.
I wonder who in their right mind would scrap such a beautiful truck.
Holy crap, that’s a great example. Save it pleassseee...
That's a cool truck, I wish I could stumble upon a good truck like this, nice..
OMG I want that, that so needs to be a new Muscle Truck. Roadkill inspired. She's gorgeous
Man I love those old Ford short beds
Wow Yep with that tag I love my truck. Someone loved this truck. They kept pretty good care of that one for many years! Like Jay said it doesn't belong in a scrap yard.
Save it it’s a piece of history and I know you’re going to do the right thing if you can thank you my friend I really enjoyed the video.
Hell, I'd buy it! Yeah buddy! 😎 Damn shame to see that scrapped.
I want to buy that. I don’t care if it’s a truck from ‘76, I’m daily driving that thing. Awesome exhaust note
Before it got scrapped I see someone put new shocks in the front and what appears to be starter or motor mount on right side. I don't like Ford's but I love me a short bed. Its a shame what people throw away down there.
It also had a new radiator hose
I'm a Chevy guy too. But thats when Ford made great trucks! The old saying used to be...for cars you go to GM for trucks you go to Ford!
Short bed u don't see that everyday it really not in that bad of shape
Sounds amazing. Like I said last video should import cars like this to the uk. I know a buyer who'd take these as is.
It's a 1973-76 F-100 with a 1979 grille and insert.
The instrument cluster and large diameter steering wheel is true for 1973-76 F-100
45 MPH is straight up on 77-79
50 MPH is straight up on 73-76
If this isn’t saved I’m gonna be real mad
same here
I'd snatch that thing up in a heartbeat if I didn't already have several projects waiting lol
Dang that thing is clean!!! Thanks for the videos, cheers!!
Please save that truck!
KC’s paint shop would buy that in a heartbeat
I love how the front license plate I love my truck and send it to a scrap yard. Must not love it that much
Definitely worth saving from the crusher.
That baby is money on wheels 😍
That truck has a lot of potential.
Say it ain't so. I would love to have an oldie like that.
Jay you should keep that one for yourself it's a keeper.
Man, usually when I see a video like this where "someone needs to save this!" generally I'm seeing why it was scrapped. Not this time, even as a work truck this thing still has alot of life left in it. She ain't pretty, but, yeah, this one time I'm gonna be one of those guys, someone needs to save this.
All I can say is I hope this one was saved, it's really hard to find these with a short box
Jay. Maaco paint job in candy apple red metallic and a cheap set of chrome rims. The truck would sell fast!!!! That thing is too cool for school!!!
so other then surface rust, worn/perrsished rubber things and the cracked dash and wheel it runs and works dam were al's bike and auto down in floida?! he'd buy that in a heart beat its so good!
Jay....... don't scrap that truck!.......how much do y'all want for it....just sell it!
Those dash boards are almost always sun checked! Easily replaced and covers are easy to find. My original one is perfect but it's pretty much always been stored inside and covered. If you look at them wrong they crack.
I like the puffer in the cigarette lighter must of been a old timer lol
Has potential. Those short beds are hard to find
I’m a ford guy and I’m so glad you saved it
Id buy that and fix it up thats a shame it got junked couldnt believe how clean it was
Shit, I’d buy it if I had somewhere to put it. That thing is a project truck just waiting for the right person.
This would be a perfect truck to swap a late-model 302 into from like a late 90s to early 00s Mustang GT.
So glad you guys are saving it.
Truck is absolutely my most favorite truck I would love to have this thing this thing is harder to come by than a Rainbow unicorn 🦄 I wish I could buy this thing
What a shame one of my favorite trucks of all time only if I would have seen these when u first posted I would driven up there and bought that beauty best looking fords in my opinion
That’s just crazy!
If I worked there I’d have to get a night job to pay for all the cars I bought. I wouldn’t change a thing about that truck, just a dash cover and a new seat cover, but nothing on the outside.
