"So she’s a kardashian" line is so underrated
Clip of the year😂😂😂😂
It was so in pocket hahah
😂😅😂😅
Iggy Azalea is an Australian Kardashian, which I now create the term "Austradashian." "Aussie Aussie Aussie!"
😂😂😂
"so shes a kardashian" lmao that almost made me spit out my water
“So she’s a Kardashian” GAGGED ME 😂😂😂😂😂😂
As an Asian person I don’t have a problem with someone someone wearing in traditional Asian culture dress when it is clearly under appreciation and looking at the beauty of it. I have a problem with someone pulling there eyes in to slits and over exaggerating an accent which is clearly mocking and insulting
Asia is over 3.5 Billion people including, ARABS , Japanese, Indians, Afghans etc... ! 🙂
@@Quasar900Thanks, a lot of people don’t seem to understand that.
@@leidymachado8016 Then you're Asian too , right ?! 🤔
I'm transasian, and i agree
@@DaP84 What's Transasian ? Asian + African ? for exemple ? haaa ? reply ! haaa?
Katy Perry is definitely a generational thing...im 40, and asian..and Katy Perry looked absolutely beautiful in that geisha outfit!!!! Not once was I even the slightest insulted, in fact I never even heard of this about her until this video...CULTURE should be shared...what happened to America, the melting pot
I think Katy Perry looked beautiful as well in that outfit!
it never was from jump. js
I'd say it's an American thing..... us Asians don't find it offensive at all when they put on our cultural dresses. Actually it boosts the popularity of one's culture. So. 🤷♂️
FYI, Japanese have no issues with foreign people wearing their traditional attire. I have been working with Japanese clients for six years, I always ask them about the cultural appropriation and they all seem to be very confused with that concept. They love when people make an effort to speak Japanese or to wear a kimono or yukata. So, it's just Americans getting offended on their behalf, really.
Exactly I remember Americans were crying and Japanese were cheering her. It was a forced controversy mainly by fans of other pop stars as they were jealous that Katy was the most popular at that time
'Cultural Appropriation' is strictly an American thing. There are many videos that show Americans in different countries wearing their cultural clothes...not only are they encouraged, the native population seem proud to see others appreciating their culture.
Agree but I think people misunderstand what cultural appropriation is. For someone to participate in a culture's traditions and show appreciation for it is generally accepted. Simply wearing outfits or eating food, respecting the meaning behind certain traditions, imo, should be encourage to bring cultures together and allow people to celebrate diversity. But appropriating is more like stripping the tradition of it's cultural significance and meaning and claiming it as your own type of thing, while not respecting the culture itself. For example, spirit animals. Appropriating a culture is different from appreciating one.
Yaaassssss.
I find cultural appropriation so weird... like I speak for a lot of Africans living on the continent when I say we won't be bothered by someone from another race braiding their hair or wearing our clothing if they're not mocking it... like we literally have more real issues to be pressed about
Your African not African American so you wouldn’t get it
@@princesspink9550where you think it originated?.. also irrelevant.. its a hairstyle.. people can do whatever they want with their own hair.. any race can wear and style their hair however they want.. cope
People just want to be offended by anything anymore.. imagine gatekeeping hairstyles lmao 😂
Like I didn't even know it was thing till I got on American side of the internet. When I talked about those Kind of things with my African mom she told me she rather consider it as Appreciation and would love that her cultural things would spread more cause she will find it beautiful
“so she is a Kardashian”
has to be one of the coldest lines on this channel
I wish people would properly research Michael Jackson's case rather than blindly believing in a documentary
Indeed
Right? It really irritates me
this 💯😕
Well since you properly researched it, did he do it or not?
@@justcallmetaes
Who is Michael Jackson anyway ?! 🙂
Now days everything is forgotten sooo quickly that even Neil Armstrong Death in 2012 maybe was forgotten anyway !🙂
I'm so tired of Americans' misconception of cultural appropriation and how it's being spread to the world as something people should be aware and ashamed of. Sooo dumb! We have people from other cultures (Koreans, Japanese, Latinos, etc) promoting you wear their traditional clothes in cultural events, wanting others to try their food, know about their traditions, etc. Yet Americans continue saying it's wrong. 😂
None of what you cited is appropriation; those are instances of cultural exchange in which both parties are mutually agreeing to share in something to better understand or learn something about one another. Appropriation is when one culture uses something from the other culture without any recognition or respect to the culture they’re getting it from. Most everyday people aren’t appropriating all that often, but it happens a lot in show business because of the pressure to market with novel aesthetics that will make you stand out from your peers.
@@3434animal That's exactly what I'm saying, that people don't know what appropriation really means, yet they spread incorrect information, like these comments the reactors made.
Fun fact: the only people offended by the Katy Perry geisha performance back then were american. Never heard even one Japanese complaining about it...
And honestly seeing her in this video alongside trash bags such as Kanye West or Chris Brown is insulting.
it’s because americans have to be offended for everyone. even if they aren’t involved.
@@nicloren2220 as a American I can agree
Some people accused Katy Perry to do cultural appropriation in the 2013 AMA's when the Japanese where happy to see their culture representing outside Japan.
Yes, because that is the reaction of normal people
Japanese people were proud of it and Americans were outraged. WTF is wrong with that picture
When they said "controversial artists" i thought R Kelly was gonna be one of them lol
I thought when they did Ariana it was about the home wrecker scandal lol
I'm not speaking as a Michael Jackson fan, but as a common man. How Michael Jackson is problematic? Yes, there are some controversies surrounding him, that doesn't mean he is problematic. There is not one shred of evidence that Michael Jackson did anything wrong. The FBI and CPS investigated him for years and years, and since 1993, every place he went, every encounter he had, every telephone conversation, electronic chats, and every computer/internet page he cracked was *monitored* by the Federal Bureau of Investigations. His home was raided by around 77 police officers at different times. That’s more than what serial killers get! And yet? NOTHING was found. Not even a *smidgen* of questionable behavior or material was found that Michael Jackson had committed wrongdoing.
To this day, (July 23, 2023) there's not a single damn PROOF that Michael Jackson did anything wrong.
I bet he did some really weird stuff back there. Also the case is public, so its clear that he done some weird stuff with the boys, but hey money talks.
@@HairyButWhole Being somewhat weird and committing criminal acts do not go hand in hand.
Exactly what I was thinking
@@blackprince7510 this 💯💯
Just letting y’all know there is an interview in Japan where they showed Katy performing in that Japanese attire and out of all the interviews, everyone was really happy that people were embracing Japanese culture all around the world. So that one interview really changed my mind on that one particular topic
I’m shocked that R. Kelly wasn’t mentioned in this at ALL….. 🤨
I'm sorry but Michael was framed by the media although he did hang out with kids he did so in a manner where they could feel comfortable although odd never once has he committed such acts of perversion towards kids even that one star from home alone who he hung out with noted Michael was a cool guy, and the sad thing is the hate is still going even after his death it's shameful
✊🏻✊🏻
Eminem is a wordsmith. Most of what the media tried to pin on him is nonsense, he knows how to push buttons to get a reaction and I think it amuses him. Evidence can be found online during interviews about the type of guy Em truly is, my favorite being with Elton John saying the wedding gift he received from Em was 2 diamond encrusted c*ck rings.
Elton also did Stan with Em as part of showing that they were close and I love it more then the original version of the song.
When I heard the "harder, better, faster, strong" part i was like "WTF DID DAFT PUNK DO?" then I realized it was Kanye💀
NOT JUST ME hahaha
Having a hairstyle shouldn't make you controversial 💀
The Unconditionally performance by Katy Perry was praised by literally everyone from Japan. I even watched the video, read the comments and most people liked it. Only overly sensitive Americans feel that way.
OH BROTHER HERE WE GO AGAIN, this was fun until the Katy Perry video. I am from Africa I am black and help me understand the logic behind Katy having corn rows and performing a geisha attire is in anyway shape or form a Bad thing firstly no one gave us Africans the right to claim a hair style. many cultures had braids its not a black thing Indians had braids Nordic Vikings had braids, secondly if you ask a randomly chosen Japanese if they were mad at Katy here is the response you're going get, it would be that they are actually happy she is trying to learn experience their culture I know I would. I would actually respect the person more because they are interested in the first place. its sad That the woke culture started out as a good thing and now its making this generation pretty stupid. Ow please let's debate and let me school you.
"woke culture" has NOTHING to do with the conversation about possible cultural appropriation, so excuse yourself from this conversation while you find out what being "woke" ACTUALLY means
@@cwise0603 yes it does you moron, the vikings had dreads. are they black? no there white as white can be. so how do the vikings who has not see a black person or visited Africa know about dreads?
These days you don't need to get offended people get offended for you it's literally stupid😂
@the_ejj they didn't have dreads. They had knots which are different and are done differently.
Um... Elton and Eminem have a good relationship. Em called on Elton alot during the time when he was getting clean. Em even bought Elton and his husband cockrings as a wedding gift (or something like that.) But whatever.
diamond encrusted cockrings
I mean, what did people expect? That this troubled, bullied white trash kid from the trailer park magically gives a sh*t about political correctness because he just got famous? Every slur, every insult he used in his lyrics he was probably told himself on a regular basis. It was the language he was used to. But unless many other controversial artists, he always tried to better himself and become a better person and learn from former mistakes.
There are people like R Kelly, Matt healy, Travis Scott, Tory lanez, Morgan Wallen, Doja cat etc. and you decided to put some of the now least problematic people…like apart from Chris brown and Kanye West the rest don’t compare I fear
I agree with R Kelly 100%, iggy and most artists in this video are more controversial than problematic but Eminem for example is awful.
@@celiafalsone what did he do i didn’t watch the whole thing I fear
How did they not play R. Kelly when talking about controversial singers?
Fr I was waiting for it
Same! I refuse to listen to any of his songs anymore.
@@Zodia195that's tough is an R&B GOAT
"so she's a Kardashian...?" took me OUT
Right?? Talk about a mic drop moment! 💀🤌🏻🤌🏻💋💋
If this video was done around this time, Doja Cat and Lizzo could've been included as well.
How is Meg thee Stallion problematic? That leprechaun shot her.
Leprechaun 😂😂
Nicholas has so many fire one liners 🔥🔥🔥” So she’s a Kardashian” 😂😂😂 is obviously the best.
well actually Ariana Grande is now on controversy bc of her being a homewrecker?
"So she's a Kardarshian" took me out XD
HOW IN THE HOLY HELL do you have an episode about controversial artists and NOT HAVE freaking R. Kelly???? 😮😮😮
I know right! You don't get any more problematic.
I feel like he's not so much as "problematic/ controversial", he's *criminal*....and I think we're all in agreement on him. Limited controversy. Little defense of him going around.
Maybe they considered him too controversial 🤷🏽♀️
Some of these guys have more trouble with katy perry than with Chris brown, yikes.
yeah, i almost lost my mind with the reactions between Katy and Chris, like dude what is your problem???????
surprised R Kelly didn't make the cut but glad he's not being promoted in the video either
yeah. Including Breezy was straddling the line. R Kelly would have erased, drawn a new one, then crossed over the line
I was waiting for that R Kelly to come up. lol
No R Kelly? That would have been challenging!
right?
R Kelly wasn't controversial. Everyone recognizes what he did was bad. There's no controversy in that. Controversy requires two sides.
Other than Chris Brown and Kanye West (for understandable reasons), everyone else in this video that's deemed "problematic" is a damn reach and a half.
I will give massive props on that "So, she's a Kardashian?" line. That was cold (although, I'd rather Iggy than any Kardashian not named Khloe)!
Chris brown is “problematic” because of something he did over a decade ago. Funny
Mike been innocent... facts don't lie people do.
✊🏻✊🏻
Controversial doesn’t automatically mean you’re guilty simply means that you got issues surrounding you
@@joejames1794 unfortunately a lot of ppl don't know that, they just assume you're guilty automatically
Kinda surprised that R-Kelly didn't show up on list.
for katy perry situation, she's actually doing cultural exchange since Japan like her geisha performance. She performed it in Japan. I learned cultural exchange for a long time since high school brotherhood sisterhood event. I don't like people misinterpreted cultural exchange as cultural appropriation. Context matters 🥺
Unfortunately we will never Truly know what the context is for anyone but ourselves.
Also, I'm not sure if the entire country of Japan thought her performance wasn't problematic.
Sometimes we just need to listen and support a people/culture with complete understanding of the history.
@@heafie we just need to hear the reasons why celebrities wear them in their own words without people bashing them. Katy said he likes japan culture and geisha related to her song Unconditionally
@@mirayoon1992 do you think any entertainer would admit to their racial bias and potentially lose everything?
I still think that people need to do the work and educate themselves on the various cultures that they love and want to share. Some people may not want to relive certain things just to make a pretty video. If you don't want to do the work....
Again, we won't ever really know or better anyone else but ourselves.
Too many people are too sensitive
@@lilcupc4k3s yep. So if you put something on the internet, especially for a living, you should get used to consequences...good and bad
Really no R. Kelly? 100% thought they were going to play ignition
Out of all the problematic artists there are there are none as problematic as that man. They dropped the ball.
Will Smith shouldn't get all that hate. He is a human being who was defending his wife. When she was feeling uncomfortable, his emotions got the better of him and did what he did. He even admitted that he could have done better.
Chris Rock was asking for it. He mocked her alopecia, which she was already openly upset about. A woman's hair is a huge part of her identity, so it was far more than a "joke". I'm sick of "comedians" thinking making fun of people at their expense is funny and people just going with it because they're assholes.
Right, still don’t get why people hate him so much for it
I side eye anyone who has a problem with Will Smith.
So she's a Kardashian? And that's when I clutched my pearls! 😂😂😂😂
What's it with Amerincans and "cultural appropiation"? You can't wear a poncho if you're not latino? You can't wear a kimono if you're not asian?
Dumbest shit ever
Nicholas: " So, she's a Kardashian?!"
when i saw "controversial" i thought it would be like R Kelly and Marilyn Manson kinda controversial
They say MJs conversational but then puts a song he made when he was younger
AND with his siblings...like leave them out of it
"So, she's a Kardashian?" Got me 😂😂😂 i luv nicholas 🙌🏻🙌🏻
How was R. Kelly not in this???
I wondered that too. Maybe he’s TOO problematic?
They might do a part 2 for this cause lets be honest this just scrapped the tip if we talking problematic artists.......they all still bops tho
The fact you never had Nicki Minaj on this list shows you googled this stuff and was selective.
Jair and Nicolas are amazing when they are together 😂
Nick's reaction to Kid Rock had me CACKLING lol
Travis Scott should have been part of the list. Astroworld tragedy was fairly recent.
They could do an entire reaction video just to that event. And also Las Vegas, which Eminem actually wrote a song about.
@@melanieannplans2666 that song was made to raise awareness of the gun problems i don't know why some people find it problematic.
@@nrg.primal4310 Exactly and that's how I always took it. He calls out the b.s. of how people treated him and how people's behavior is taking a toll on this country. Nothing problematic about that, imo.
Cultural appropriation is so dumb seriously, why would it be wrong for anyone to express themselves if they admire a different culture to the one that is originally "theirs"? That's actually a good thing. As long as you are respectful it's fine...
see that respect thing hardly happens
If they know and understand the culture it's fine but that's not always the case.
Most of these artist aren’t controversial they don’t know what controversial mean
Where was R Kelly?!?!
Exactly. He should be first on this list
Nick and Jair need to paired together for these challenges PERMANENTLY
they let Chris Brown off very easily. big yikes.
Michael Jackson was also a big yikes, but they were extremely charitable about the guy😂
The second documentary that came out after Leaving Neverland is the accurate one. Brandi Jackson (niece of Michael Jackson) came out and said that her and Wade dated for 10+ years. She said that he's a manipulator and is just out to get money. I believe her over Wade because she's one of the most if not the most private Jackson family member. Plus some of the stories Wade told Taj Jackson was there for and said never happened. If he did do it then CPS would have taken his kids out of there so fast and no amount of money could have saved them. Plus Michael was broke.
Everything you said was factual except that MJ was broke MJ was way too huge to ever be broke that’s just a media driven lie/narrative🎯💯
MISS KATY PERRY DIDNT DO ANYTHING WROOOONG, btw the geisha attire was LOVED by the japans, the only ones who found if offensive was WHITES
as they always do.
Seriously guys? What about bieber spitting in his fans? messing around in other ppls countries? And what about RIHANNAS FACE after chris brown beated her a$$ out. I'mnot even getting into kanye. And its so interesting how they had stuffnto say anout the controversial women and basically nothing bout the dudes. fr.
im having a stroke reading this 😭
American getting offended for other people cultures is funny
So she's a Kardashian 😂😂😂
Meg thee stallion problematic? She was proven right. Should be Tory on there
MJ didnt do that ish
Now, let's be fr. You're telling me Ariana Grande and Katy Perry are as problematic as Kanye West or Chris brown?! Y'all crazy.
they all did something 10 years ago. Kanye is still a problem tho to this day
12:00 I'll tell you how Japan feels about it: Japan are the master cosplayers in the world.
What do you think?
Katy does not belong here. She addressed all the appropriate issues on her livestream for witness n learned from wearing her hair a certain way. And the Japan inspired performance is cultural APPRECIATION. it was so beautifully well done, for some reason it’s only Americans that have this issue with it.
How was R. Kelly not on this list?
“So she’s a Kardashian?” 😂😂😂
You Americans use the term "Cultural Appropriation" in every tiny little situation involving someone connecting with a different culture.
In a lot of those situations it is very acceptable. All this complaining feels more like segregating the world than uniting.
Calm down guys!
Lúcido.
Exactly, like wtf!
Nick for the WIN! "So she's Kardashian?" 😂😂😂
Nick is the best tbh 😂
CULTURE is there to be shared, what the hell?north american people find anything offensive...
The Blurred Lines controversy is real but the lyrics are not about consent 🙄 the girl is taken - she’s in a relationship and he wants her and he’s hinting that she wants to cheat with him.
Cheating is trash but it’s not non consensual.

The fact that Katy Perry were controversial cause of hairstyle is just too funny.
Right? She's committed a lot worse a lot more recently than that.
The most controversial thing here is saying "it's Chris Brown's Freaky Friday"... nah girl that's Lil Dicky's Freaky Friday...
It’s lil dickys biggest song for a reason
You have Michael in the controversial video when he did nothing but not r kelly? When he admitted it?
Literally when i saw this video for the first time, R name's came to my mind, mostly bc the whole Aaliyah thing, he's so gross and i'm happy that he's in jail right now
“He was warming up for Chris Rock back then with the switch” I love Nick 😂😂
He has a humor that catches you at random 😂
That "so like a Kardashian" made me guffaw.
I gotta say-- it seems like the losers won the prize. 😆

having ariana in this video and watching it after ALL that's come out is phew!!
Iggy azalea never said the N word she apologized and what dose her dating a black man have to do with anything lol

Yeah me as Swifties can’t take it at least
There should be a video of Brian singing a full song, he gets so into the music 🤣
I love this format; the way they now show several people at once, have multiple new design elements- everything!
Ok everyone needs to stop spreading the narrative that “baby it’s cold outside” is a song about something it’s not. Like just stop.
I know, right?
They could not even touch R Kelly with a pole!
Why would anyone even want to?
funny thing about cancel culture is that if we all had public lives like this, we'd all cancel each other. i mean some people do genuinely terrible things, but other times is like- really? they did cornrows and now we should cancel them? mxiim..
I suppose Ariana Grande has another thing now with this guy from the SpongeBob musical.
