It's my understanding that Roy and Carolyn Bryant had four children in all: three boys and a girl. Two boys are dead; one of them died at a young age. JW and Juanita Milan had two sons. As far as I know, one is still living unless he died recently.
I just went to FindAGrave and looked up Roy Bryant. He died in Sept., 1994, aged 63. He has 2 sons that are passed away, both after his death. Roy Bryant (1952-1995) and Frank Lee Bryant (1956-2010). He had 2 sons at the trial in 1955, so that must be the son that the old battleaxe was living with when she was dying. At least Carolyn got to see 2 of her sons die before her. J. W. Milam died in 1980 and he now has one deceased son, Horace William Milam (1951-2008), so he died long after his father.
She was an amazingly strong woman. May she and Emmett rest in peace. My grandparents were from the area just south of Merigold and Sunflower Plantation and they are buried in the Drew Cemetery, only blocks from where they now say he was murdered. All these years later and I just now discovered that information.
