    I like that you used the Polaroid Hi-Print cartridge in this camera. Thanks for testing that. That pretty much sold me to purchase this model over the Mini Shot 3, which I agree is a little too bulky to carry around.

    This camera is pretty nice, but I can't find the paper for it anywhere - it's so hard to find in my country, but I can find Polaroid Hi Print paper, it's nice to see you tried it with that so I'm assured I can still use the camera

    Hi there! I have been looking for a pocket printer to take with me while I travel and I watched this video as well as the Polaroid hi print one. I agree with your note about how much trash these create/the environmental impact and I was wondering if you have come across any portable printers that make less trash? It seems like maybe an area that instant printers/cameras havent figured out yet? So far it seems like the best option is to just print at home later. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

    Great review! Thanks very much 😊👍🏼 I’m thinking of buying this for my 10 year old daughter as she has asked for a Polaroid-like camera for Christmas. Would you recommend this over the Instax Mini 12? I know she likes the look of the Instax but I’m worried about printing costs/portability vs the Kodak. Many thanks and all the best, Jono 😊

    • @JustAnotherChris

      Hmm I would get a instax mini and buy the film from wal mart. It’s $14 for 20 photos. The paper for this camera people have been saying it’s getting harder to find and sometimes not being able to find it anywhere.

    • @omarenm
      @omarenm Před 3 měsíci +1

    • @I_am_supernovae
      @I_am_supernovae Před měsícem

      Keep in mind that instax is “shoot and print” camera, you take a photo and it prints out immediately, it will not let you chose which ones to print or discard. Plus don’t shake the picture as it develops.

    THANK YOU: I got the Mini 3 and Mini 2 during Prime day to compare -- BUT THEN I saw your review for the Liene M200 with 10 mins before all the deals ended - AND I am SO SO glad I found your review of the Liene - the print quality vs the kodak isn't even in the same class. Conclusion: I'm willing to forego pocket portability for hi-res photos i'd be happy to gift to friends w my name on it!

    Once upon a time, when computer and book stores could be found nearly everywhere, I stopped off at Computer City to look for Inkjet cartridges for my Canon printer. There was a Dye-Sublimation printer on demo, that did a "triple in/out" thing with the print media. It looked very good, but the price of a tricolor cartridge was too expensive. I (sorta) yearned for a three color Laser printer, but when they finally arrived, Computer City was about to shut down and the machines were huge/heavy. I have heard of Dye-Sublimation printers from "Techmoan," from "Polaroid." So now "Kodak" has these on the market? I used Ye Olde Canon PowerShot 15 for my brother-in-law's birthday and the 4X6 inch prints made at the local CVS drugstore were great and much cheaper, so this is a hard pass.

    Hi Chris! Thank you for this video. I have a question tough about something you mention on the video but I am not sure if you tested it out. Do the kodak cartridges work on the polaroid hi-print? Because I am thinking about buying the polaroid one but, as you say, the kodak paper is much cheaper. Could you confirm that the kodak cartridges work on the polaroid? Thank you again!

    We carry around our smartphones 100% of the time and smartphone camera module is 10x better than the polaroid cameras (10MP vs 100MP). Kodak Mini Shot supports Bluetooth connection with the phone to print the photos straight from the phone. So.. what is the need of the microSD card? It's a very old feature and a gimmick.

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  Před rokem +12

      I think you’re missing the point of all of this. Yes we have our phone in our pocket we could take pictures whatever. The joy of these cameras is to offer something different, being able to shoot something and have a different look and feel that’s also physical. That’s what it’s all about.

    • @Andrew-vr5md
      @Andrew-vr5md Před rokem +1

      @@JustAnotherChris I think Jordan is saying this because you talked about the internal storage and SD card option. This is irrelevant to your point on having a "different look and feel that's also physical".

    • @matthewkriebel7342
      @matthewkriebel7342 Před 6 měsíci

      The physical part is the camera. But if the camera does the cool thing of make prints, but not the very basic thing of "works as a digital camera", it's pretty silly. Yes, you can get the printer-only version. But the camera version has a chance to be so cool, except you don't get a digital copy of the photo... why?!?

  • @scialyticsteve

    While the print quality of these is excellent, the camera is so bad it's stunning. It's not sharp, the colours are washed out. If you use the flash, the pictures are over exposed and totally washed out. It's so bad it's hard to believe. Like a keychain toy quality camera from the 90s.
    Prints turn out well from a smart phone. I would say it's better to buy the portable printer version of this and forget about the camera. If you're thinking "Well, the camera one is only $20 more. Maybe I might want to use the camera once in a while", trust me, you won't. It's that bad compared to any smart phone.
    I can't say it strongly enough: The camera picture quality is extremely poor. Use your smartphone instead. Forget about the camera and get the portable printer-only version instead.
