    I wanted to say thanks. I just had a fish with buoyancy issues. I did one Epsom Salt bath and am feeding Repashy. She seems to be doing much better. Thanks a bunch.

    Good idea with floating bowl in the tank. I do my baths in 60 l tub, may be slightly harder to do 😂

      Unfortunately, it didn't help mine. You may need to try normal salt if it's dropsy, I have a few videos specifically on dropsy

    Hi Chris. Is it possible to always add a very small amount of Epsom salt with a water change to prevent problems. As sort of a preventive measure.

      I don't see it causing any harm to the fish although I would probably use normally salt rather than Epsom personally

    Have you heard of the product Swimbladded Treatment Plus by interpet? It's not available here in the US. Wondering if it's absolutely trash or has merit?

      Acriflavine 80 mg/100 ml, 9-aminoacridine HCl 800 mg/100 ml.
      I've not heard of these before myself.

      @hollywaugh2572 acraflavin is just a mild antibacterial which I like to use. Not sure on the other ingredients. Likely just a mild antibacterial treatment unfortunately

    Thanks so much for this video, I’m going to try this on one of my pond Sarasa Comets, he’s been laying on bottom of the pond since late August and can only access food by swimming completely vertically to the top. Also jumps and breaches a great deal, have tried fluke treatments but nothing has helped. His swimming looks worse now and looks quite wobbly 😞

      Ahh I'm sorry! Sounds like he is "lunking" or trying to clear his gills. Unfortunately mine eventually passed away but was worth a try. Hope you have more success 🙌🏼

    do peas help swim bladder too? my goldfish is curved and horizontal and sinks to bottom and doesn't move

      They can help with swim bladder issues due to the high fibre helping to clear the gut, however generally once a fish has developed swim bladder issues it can be hard ro rectify. You could try the kenta gas food

    Hello.i got an black moor goldfish..she changed his colour in kind of gold...in last days i seen he have appeared on his body,tail,and the rest some black marks,,look like mold..i dont know is normal or should i do something?not long time ago one fish died after age or 3...was with his belly up most of the time and cant go deep in the water..let me know what i can do with this black moor with that black marks from his body?like in your video

      Hi, the black marks will either be the goldfish shedding it's colour (which is normal) or potentially ammonia burns. Can you test your water for ammonia?

      i never do that before in 5 years with these goldfish..i just was on petshop and one guy from there said is normal to my goldfish have that black marks..when i bought it 5 years ago was totally black this black moor...after changed his colour to let say gold ...and now apeared these black marks.

    i have dr teals Epson salt BUT it smells' Lavender - is it ok to use it for my sick fish ?

      No I would not use any Epsom salts with added scents, it may harm or endanger your fish's life. Try to find some pure Epsom salt 😁

      If it is just pure 100% Magnesium sulphate then it will be okay 😄

      @@AquaticElements ok - this morning i did it but smell with lavender - after few minutes i realized the smell is heavy - i removed my molly fish - in first 10 minutes i thought my molly is dead but after 10 minutes start swimming and looks fine but the swimming balder issue still in NOT fix- the Epsom salt i used it had heavy Levander smell- i i had my molly in it les than 2 min - -- it should be fine now ?

    I got some salt on order (be in next week. I have a few that have been having issues with constipation (we all get it!) and the pea and broccoli diet has only gone so far.
    A couple are fairly young, I read you shouldn't do it with young ones?

      Hey, how young are they? I wouldn't worry too much unless they are fry. Best to observe them and make sure they don't have any discomfort.

      I think the aquarium salt makes it worse, but I would definitely search it up!

      Epsom salt may help with bladder issues as it is a muscle relaxant but generally once the bladder issue has taken hold it’s hard to reverse.

    I'm hoping this will help my 6 year old Goldfish, Nathan! he has white spot thats taking a long time to go away, and now one side he looks bloated, and sitting at the bottom of the tank (still eats, but swims sidways :(

      I'm sorry to hear that. Did you manage to clear up the white spot? It's definitely not breeding tubercules? Otherwise, he may have a bacterial infection if he has redness and swelling to the belly

      He started swimming sideways about 5 pm yesterday and I freaked out, rang up a bunch of fish shops in a nother state that were still open, to see if they could identify what was wrong... most of them just said oh crap that sounds bad, never had that before.... I talked to one older guy whos kept fish for most of his life, he reckons because it was a hard lump on only one side, it was a tumor & there's nothing I could do. So yeah, my poor mate died in the night :(

    Can I reuse the same epsom salt water solution for two days? I just dont wanna be wasteful lol

      I would only use it more than once if you're adding a fish in straight after. If left over night any ammonia or waste build up left in the water could start to break down and potentially lead to polluted water. Personally I wouldn't risk it just incase 😌

      @@AquaticElements Thanks for the advice! I only was able to buy A small bottle of epsom salt from the pharmacy cuz I couldn't find any big ones that didn't have any scents on it. So I really wanted to not waste a lot of the epsom salt especially with a small bottle ;( But hopefully I can buy a bigger and cheaper one somewhere locally :D

      I havnt ever used it, I wouldnt personally use it and would use non iodized salt like pure vacuum dried salt. Thanks

    I've seen places selling 'Blessed' Epsom salt online. I guess it eases constipation, swim bladder issues and any demonic possession symptoms your goldfish may be experiencing.

      If you are using Epsom salt, I would definitely make sure it's 100% pure with no contaminants. It can definitely be used at a muscle relaxant

      @@AquaticElements I have the pure stuff. I have tried one bath last week but I think the problem is permanent with the fish that has problems. Going to try it everyday from tomorrow for a week or so. Thanks for the video 🙏

      Yes 1 table spoon of something generic like sugar is approximatly 14.3g but 1 table spoon of Epsom salt weighs roughly 17.07g. Just depends on the volume and density of the product being weighed. Thank you for watching 😁
