- Learn how to make these quick wire wrapped earrings with a drop shape in my step-by-step jewellery tutorial.
Materials Used:
- 1mm diameter copper wire (18 gauge)
- 0.4mm diameter copper wire (26 gauge)
- 2 beads (approx 4mm)
- Ear hooks
Tools Used:
- Bail-making pliers or round nose pliers
- Flat nose or chain nose pliers
- Wire cutters
Optional:
- Hammer and block

So pretty x I made some similar for my dil. No bead just wire. I'm still getting used to feeding wire through gaps rather than having open ends ..... wire gets very kinked then hardens drives me mad ha ha ..... still practice makes perfect ish x

Do you use any other wire besides copper, sterling or gold?
What kind of copper wire do you use? Do you need to patina the work? Otherwise will they quickly turn green? Do people seem to tolerate the copper ear wires well! Thanks for a great tutorial

Thanks! I've picked up my hammers over time, often from Cookson Gold here in the UK. But I've tried to find equivalents on Amazon for the US and UK - have a look at the tools section on my website for links www.lily-tree.co.uk/tools Hopefully that at least provides a good place to start! 😃
I'm a beginner, & I'm wondering if you could tell me why so many who make wire jewelry use Copper colored wire rather than more silver & gold colored? Is it that the color copper is more popular, or is it that the wire is cheaper or what? I love your designs and thank you for sharing with us as I'm learning much from you!
