- Hello! I'm Tina, I run 'Made with April' with my dog, April! I had the chance to have my own solo pop-up for the first time this last weekend and it was a crazy long 2 days. I was there from 8am on Saturday until 7pm close, and then back again on Sunday at 9am!! It was slow but I had the chance to make a TON of crochet lavender while I was there.

You need some fitted stretchy table cloths Amazon do them 4ft 5ft & 6ft it will hide all your boxes underneath too they are really cheap and they don’t wrinkle ❤

there’s two types but I highly recommend the frilled one that covers the entire bottom of your table and not the extremely form fitting ones because there’s a small hole near the bottom where your boxes would still be visible! I own one myself and it’s the best thing I ever bought for my setups, and it doesn’t flow in the breeze! ✨🤍
Definitely need to buy these, I think I have so many comments about this tablecloth already but I was waiting for these ones to fall apart - which at this point they definitely have LOL
I sell crochet plushies and for my next market I NEED to bring a "not for kids" sign. I try to make my plushies as sturdy as possible but some parents don't realize that handmade products are sometimes not made for rough play or children. I think though, a lot of people would just ignore the sign.. so there's not really much I can do 🤷♀

This might help a little though, but at the same time I don't want it to discourage people from buying the keychains for kids, which are much more durable. It's a tough balance
@@madewithapril Exactly!! So many of my sales are coming from young kids (6-10 maybe?) or their parents, and I don't want people to think that they can't buy them for their kids. I just hope people know that handmade plushies aren't the same as manufactured ones, and that people should still be gentle with them!

I personally don't think it'd make you less grateful for the opportunity to say that the place didn't align well with the expectations or the target public you usually have for your crochet business, so don't worry too much about it.

Have you tried sitting on the inside of your L setup? I think lots of people don’t want to walk into booths and with the tables more front and forward they can window shop more easily and see more things. If that makes any sense
This is a wonderful suggestion. There are many, like myself, that don't like being close to people in small spaces. I very much gravitate toward pop-up vendors that set their tables up on the edges of their booth space. It also makes the space more accessible to those that may need canes, walkers, or wheelchairs. I only use the 'U' shape setup for mine if I am outdoors and expecting rain so that people can find shelter under my canopy. I have canopy walls to protect my stuff if needed so I'm not worried about it getting wet.
I think that would have worked for this one! Normally I'm in a tent surrounded by tents on either side so that doesn't really work, so I think my brain just gravitated to doing the same thing again. If I ever have a corner tent or similar pop-up space I'll def have to try this!!
It really can make you very grumpy when there is like 0 work. It's very frustrating when there are no customers, I can totally relate to that.
I kinda want some sonny angels, there are in almost every single vlog I am watching the last few day, they are really cute.. but they are kinda expensive to tho.
I love the illustration you have in the ending of the video.
It's so much more exhausting when there's no traffic vs when theres a lot :( Time passes so slowly and it seems like such a longer day!!
Hehe sonny angels are def trendy right now, I've been scouring marketplace and trade groups for cheaper ones so I can grow my collection without breaking the bank hahaha
@@madewithapril Unfortunately in my country there are not local shops with sonny angels and stuff like that.. I have to buy from the internet and the prices are insane. Yeah, totally agree with what you said about traffic. It's so much more tiring to not have customers...

I love everything that you made.Just an opinion though,if you got customers from the front and the backdoors i would have the tables parrarel to each other,that way they wouldn't be like...'eew,what is that' and sit at one of the tables taking a close look at each one of them not to be stolen.🙂

Are your prices clear ( from a distance)? I would make little bunches of 3 sunflowers and 3 lavanders and tie them with a nice ruban 🎀 and price them clearly.

All my prices are on the table in a menu-form, so people wouldn't be able to see it from far away but will definitely see it once they approach the table!
