  • Make your life easier by whipping up some char siu, or Chinese BBQ roast pork, using this amazing store-bought char siu sauce by Lee Kum Kee AND your AIR FRYER!!
** Be sure to adjust cooking time based on the size and thickness of your pork. Remove the air fryer basket after 7-8 minutes each side to test the doneness of the pork and adjust accordingly to avoid overcooking.

@@madarasenju1693 , try it ! I will tell you that I did not use the sauce she showed but made my own from hoisen sauce, honey, soy sauce, and 5 spice, only because I had this on hand. Her technique with the air fryer was spot on it was tender ,juicy and full of flavor. Not to mention quick and easy.

@@madarasenju1693 is alright, I mean is def not as flavorful as if u were to use ur own sauce recipe, but this saves time and still taste great. But if u think it doesn’t look as good as what u would find outside, then u can wipe some syrup or honey water on it after it’s done and that’s what gives it the glossy look

Everything comes out perfect. So far bagel, fresh toast sticks and fish sticks. The square basket is a game changer czcams.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB You get so much more room than the round basket.I’ve had it for about 24 hours.Only drawback I’m having an issue with is the pulling out the basket but I know eventually I will master that as well.

I’m a hopeless char siu junkie. I make it in bulk every month and eat it all month long. It’s been my favorite pork BBQ meat since I was a little girl, and I can and do eat it for days and days. My aunt gave me an air fryer a few days ago, and the first thing I thought is ‘Can I make char siu in here???’ Based on you video, I’d say I can! Thank you for showing the air frying techniques to make it! I go the long route on making my own sauce with the hoisin sauce, five spice powder, garlic, shaoxing wine, maltose ,and I do appreciate you showing how to make too with the jarred sauce!😃😃

I also make my own sauce. I generally use pork neck rather than shoulder. Char siu pork is great finely cut and placed in a Peking duck wrapper with salad or steamed vegetables and a dash of hoisin sauce. I just used the bottled sauce last week and found it too salty for my taste. It also overpowers the taste of the pork. I think I'll stick to my recipe.

Thank you for your channel! I grew up in the NYC area and would visit my grandparents every week on Mott Street while my mom ran around Chinatown picking up groceries for the week. My mom would always pick up Char Siu from Big Wong. 6 years ago our family moved to Cary, NC and it is so hard to find authentic Cantonese food. I love your channel and hearing you speak Cantonese. I've made your taro tapioca dessert and my family loved it! I am attempting to make your Char Siu right now. Hopefully, it turns out ok. 🤞🏻keep the videos coming! I love the simplicity and the great flavor. My go to recipe for char SIU. I did a slight variation though. After slicing, I brush on some leftover marinade and air fry for another 2 minutes just so that there's caramelization and char in between the slices😊

Thanks for your bilingual recipe. I’m an American born Chinese and sometimes a dummy. After experimenting 3 times I finally got it perfect. Bear in mind I’m just a novice at this. I used to get my char siu at the store in San Francisco Chinatown. Now I can make my own, thanks to you. My ex used to scold our son using a similar saying “ giving birth to a char siu would have given me something good to eat.” Keep up the great work and keep the recipes coming. Steve

Hi Maggie, on my first try making char siu I used a packaged char siu powder. Tasted like flavored food coloring. Not very tasty. I had a theory. Maybe to get the red color to make it look like the store’s char siu it can dabbed after the your method is done either before or after the honey. Real honey is better than the honey syrup sold at the oriental supermarket.
I subscribed and can’t wait to try your egg custard tart recipe. I bet it will be just as good as the ones they sell at Golden gate bakery in San Francisco. I’ll let you know if it is. Steve

Next time, I'll go 7-8 minutes and it'll be perfect. Also, add a little salt to the honey before you brush it on. It'll add another layer of flavor.
